A one-step conversion of isoquinolinium salts into naphthalene derivatives1

Berberine chloride (1) upon treatment with NaOAc-Ac₂O yields naphthalene derivatives 4 and 5 In like fashion, 8 gives naphthalene 10; isoquinoline methiodide leads to β-naphthyl acetate; and 12 provides 14. The reaction has been extended to the 3-carbonyl pyridinium series where 3-acetylpyridine methiodide and 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde methiodide furnish lactones 16 and 17, respectively. All these transformations proceed by initial nucleophilic attack of the acetic anhydride anion on the immonium carbon atom.     

Total synthesis of (±) zoapatanol: a stereospecific synthesis of a key intermediate

The development of a stereospecific synthesis of a key intermediate in the synthesis of (±)-zoapatanol from the Weiland-Miescher ketone is described.     

Molecular structure and conformation of 2,3-dichloro-1-propene as determined by gas-phase electron diffraction

The molecular structure and conformation of 2,3-dichloro-1-propene have been determined by gas-phase electron diffraction at nozzle temperatures of 24, 90 and 273°C. The molecules exist as a mixture of two conformers with the chlorine atoms anti (torsion angle ∠φ = 0°) or gauche (∠φ = 109°) to each other and with the anti form the more stable. The composition (mole fraction) of the vapor with uncertainties estimated at 2σ was found to be 0.55 (0.08), 0.49 (0.08) and 0.41 (0.10) at 24, 90 and 273°, respectively. These values correspond to an energy difference with estimated standard deviation ΔE° = E°_g-E°_a = 0.7 ± 0.3 kcal mol^?1 and an entropy difference ΔS° = S°_g-S°_a = 0.6 ± 0.9 cal mol^?1 K^?1. Some of the diffraction results, together with spectroscopic observations, permit the evaluation of an approximate torsional potential function of the form 2V = V₁ (1 - cos φ) + V₂ (1 - cos 2φ) + V₃ (1 - cos 3φ); the results are V₁ = 4.4 ± 0.5, V₂ = ?2.9 ± 0.5 and V₃ = 4.8 ± 0.2, all in kcal mol^?1. The results at 24°C for the distance (r_a) and angle (∠_α) parameters, with estimated uncertainties of 2σ, are: r(C_sp²-H) = 1.098(0.020)Å, r(C_sp³-H) = 1.103(0.020)Å, r(CC) = 1.334(0.009)Å, r(C-C) = 1.504(0.013)Å, r(C_sp²-Cl) = 1.752(0.021)Å, r(C_sp³-Cl) = 1.776(0.020)Å, ∠C-CC = 127.6(1.1)°, ∠C_sp³-C_sp²-Cl = 110.2(1.0), ∠C_sp²-C_sp³-Cl = 113.1(1.2)°, ∠H-C_sp³-H = 109.5° (assumed), ∠CC-H = 120.0° (assumed) and ∠φ = 108.9(3.4)°.     

Spectrophotometric determination of micro amounts of mercury,cadmium, and zinc by stepwise extraction with tribenzylamine

A rapid spectrophotometric method has been developed for the stepwise determination for mercury, cadmium, and zinc in mixtures. Optimal conditions have been established for the extraction efficiency of cadmium and mercury with a chloroform solution of tribenzylamine pre-equilibrated with hydrobromic acid. After addition of dithizone solution to the organic layers the absorbance at 490 nm or 510 nm is measured for mercury or cadmium, respectively. Even when the ratio of mercury, cadmium, and zinc is 10^-1 : 1 : 10^-5 , the metals can be determined successively.     

The interaction of an osmium-carbon triple bond with copper(I), silver(I) and gold(I) to give mixed dimetallocyclopropene species and the structures of Os(AgCl) (CR) Cl(CO) (PPh3)2

The osmium carbyne complex, Os(CR)Cl(CO)(PPh₃)₂, (R  p-tolyl) reacts with Group I halides to form the mixed dimetallocyclopropene species, $\text{Os(Cul)(C}$R)Cl(CO)(PPh₃)₂, $\text{Os(AgCl)(C}$R)Cl(CO)(PPh₃)₂, $\text{Os(AuCl)(C}$R)Cl(CO)(PPh₃)₂, and [$\text{Os[Ag(OClO}{}_3\text{)](C}$R)Cl(CO)(MeCN)(PPh₃)₂] ClO₄ X-ray crystal structure determination of $\text{Os(AgCl)(C}$R)Cl(CO)(PPh₃)₂ confirms the presence of a three-membered ring and the structure can be viewed as the “acetylene-like” interaction of an osmium—carbon triple bond with AgCl. In acid solution AgCl is precipitated and an alkylidene complex results from proton addition to the carbyne ligand.     

The coulometric titration of bromate with cuprous copper

A coulometric procedure has been developed by which 18 to 240 μg quantities of bromate may be determined to within 0.3 μg. The bromate is allowed to react with bromide in an acid solution and electrolytically generated cuprous copper is used for the titration. A dual platinum electrode indicator system is used in an amperometric end-point procedure     

Ionic conductivity in Na+, K+, and Ag+ β″-alumina

This paper presents measurements of the ionic conductivity in single crystals of β″-alumina (0.84 M₂O · 0.67 MgO · 5.2 Al₂O₃, M = Na, K, Ag). Single crystals of sodium β″-alumina were grown from a melt of Na₂O, MgO, and Al₂O₃ at 1660 to 1730°C. Selected crystals were converted to the other isomorphs by ion exchange. The conductivity of sodium β″-alumina varies from 0.18 to 0.01 (ohm · cm)^?1 at 25°C depending upon crystal growth conditions. Potassium β″-alumina has the unusually high room temperature conductivity of 0.13 (ohm · cm)^?1. Silver β″-alumina has a slightly lower conductivity, 4 × 10^?3 (ohm · cm)^?1 at 25°C. The activation energies of sodium and potassium β″-alumina decrease with increasing temperature, while that of silver β″-alumina is constant from ?80 to 450°C.

用文献计量学方法，对《内蒙古民族大学学报》(自然科学版)2001～2002年发表的学术论文后引用的参考文献的年代、类型、语种及普赖斯指数进行了统计分析．结果表明，篇均引文量5．86条，中文引文率75．22％，外文24．78％；专著引文率21．73％，期刊76．84％；普赖斯指数40．12％．
