In this paper, the influence of a single tip vortex on boundary layer detachment is studied. This study offers a preliminary approach in order to better understand the interaction between a propeller hub vortex and the rudder installed in its wake. This configuration belongs to the field of marine propulsion and encompasses such specific problem as cavitation inception, modification of propulsive performances and induced vibrations. To better understand the complex mechanisms due to propeller–rudder interactions it was decided to emphasize configurations where the hub vortex is generated by an elliptical 3-D foil and is located upstream of a 2-D NACA0015 foil at high incidences for a Reynolds number of 5×105. The physical mechanisms were studied using Time Resolved Stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (TR-SPIV) techniques. Particular attention was paid to the detachment at 25° incidence and a detailed cartography of the mean and turbulent properties of the wake is presented. Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) analysis was applied in order to highlight the unsteady nature of the flow using phase averaging based on the first POD coefficients to characterize the turbulent and coherent process in the near wake of the rudder. 相似文献

The Single-Allocation Ordered Median Hub Location problem is a recent hub model introduced by Puerto et al. (2011) [32] that provides a unifying analysis of the class of hub location models. Indeed, considering ordered objective functions in hub location models is a powerful tool in modeling classic and alternative location paradigms, that can be applied with success to a large variety of problems providing new distribution patterns induced by the different users’ roles within the supply chain network. In this paper, we present a new formulation for the Single-Allocation Ordered Median Hub Location problem and a branch-and-bound-and-cut (B&B&Cut) based algorithm to solve optimally this model. A simple illustrative example is discussed to demonstrate the technique, and then a battery of test problems with data taken from the AP library are solved. In an intermodal hub network, cost benefits can be achieved through the use of intermodal shipments and the economies of scale due to consolidation of flows at the hubs. However, due to limited resources at the logistics hubs, shipment delays may affect the service performance. In this research hub operations are modeled as a GI/G/1 queuing network and the shipments as multiple job classes with deterministic routings. By integrating the hub operation queuing model and the hub location-allocation model, the effect of limited hub resources on the design of intermodal logistics networks under service time requirements is investigated. The managerial insights gained from a study of 25-city road-rail intermodal logistics network show that the level of available hub resources significantly affects the logistics network structure in terms of number and location of hubs, total network costs, choice of single-hub and inter-hub shipments and service performance. 相似文献

This paper introduced a stochastic programming model to address the air freight hub location and flight routes planning under seasonal demand variations. Most existing approaches to airline network design problems are restricted to a deterministic environment. However, the demand in the air freight market usually varies seasonally. The model is separated into two decision stages. The first stage, which is the decision not affected by randomness, determines the number and the location of hubs. The second stage, which is the decision affected by randomness, determines the flight routes to transport flows from origins to destinations based upon the hub location and realized uncertain scenario. Since many large real networks tend to present scale-free degree distribution, this paper investigates the structural properties of scale-free networks with finite size. Beginning with a comprehensive analysis of the degree distribution consisting of the concentration trend, dispersion and inequality, this paper then focuses on the discussion of heterogeneity and hub nodes of scale-free networks.
