Total absolute curvature and tightness of noncompact manifolds

In the first part we prove an extension of the Chern-Lashof inequality for noncompact immersed manifolds with finitely many ends. For this we give a lower bound of the total absolute curvature in terms of topological invariants of the manifold. In the second part we discuss tightness properties for such immersions. Finally, we give an upper bound for the substantial codimension.

     

Thermal Behavior of Urea-(D) Tartaric Acid and Urea-(DL) Tartaric Acid Crystals

The thermal behavior of two new non-linear optical (NLO) materials, urea-(D) tartaric acid (UDT) and urea-(DL) tartaric acid (UDLT) were studied by using DSC, TG and TMA. The results show that: 1) The two crystals have different melting points but similar decomposition temperatures due to the influences of intermolecular forces, which is attributed to the stereo effects of (D)-tartaric and (DL)-tartaric acid molecules; 2) There was only thermal expansion and no thermal contraction when the UDT and UDLT crystals were heated; 3) There was no phase transition within the measured temperature range; 4) The thermal expansion of the UDT and UDLT crystals shows a small anisotropy; 5) The specific heats of UDT and UDLT change linearly with temperature in the measured temperature range and the value for UDT is 1.321 J g-1 K-1 at 320 K while the specific heat of UDLT is 1.357 J g-1 K-1 at the same temperature. X-ray fluorescence intensity distribution in circular specimens

Summary The relative X-ray fluorescence (XRF) intensities for annular source and various annular specimen are measured with a Ge-Li detection system and calculated by the Monte Carlo numerical techniques (MCNT).Kα X-ray intensities of annular specimens with different radii prepared from a pure-molybdenum foil are measured and it is seen that the measured values are in good agreement with the values calculated by MCNT. The variation of the fluorescence intensity due to the collimator radius is also studied. The differences between the MCNT and experimental results are discussed in terms of the possible sources of errors.

发现一种声波传入内耳的新途径

对一位先天性外耳道缺失的患者调查发现，声波传入内耳，除了正常的骨传导和气传导以外，还存在着一种口鼻—咽—咽鼓管—中耳—内耳途径．     

平面桁架结构损伤的探测、定位与评估

利用参数识别技术描述了对平面桁架结构损伤的探测、定位与评估（ＤＬＥ）的一个新算法。这一概念始于精确＂健康＂模型，利用动力响应数据周期地更新这一＂健康＂模型，当损伤发生时，用一个识别算法（一个显式桁架损伤模型），以动力响应数据构造出一个桁架损伤模型，由此比较损伤模型与健康模型的参数，从而探测、定位及评估损伤的程度     

压水堆控制棒导向筒结构改进对落棒的影响

为改善横向水力载荷对控制棒导向筒的作用，对靠近上腔室出口管嘴附近的控制棒导向筒（对称的４组：０２－２６，０３－２５，１１－２９，１２－２８）加设了保护套．在秦山核电站压水堆上腔室１４的可视化模拟体中，以水为介质进行了实验研究，把结果与未加设保护套的实验结果作了分析比较，得到了对靠近上腔室出口管嘴附近的控制棒导向筒加设保护套有助于改善流场对控制棒导向筒的水力载荷作用和确保控制棒能按指令在导向筒中自由升降和快速下插的结论．     

最小二乘解存在的充分必要条件

本文提出了当观测值的权矩阵为正定或半正定的前提下，其最小二乘解存在的充分必要条件为并以间接平差为例验证了该结论的正确性。
