Stereoselective Synthesis of Allylic Amines by One-Pot Tandem Reaction of Acetylenic Sulfone,Grignard Reagent,and N-Tosylimine

Polysubstituted allylic amines were regio- and stereoselectively synthesized by a one-pot tandem reaction of Cu(I)-catalyzed carbomagnesiation of acetylenic sulfones and its further reaction with N-tosylimine.     

Preferential Reactivity of Pyridylmagnesiumchloride with N,N-Dialkyl Arylamides over Carbonitriles: Synthesis of 2-(Aroyl) Pyridines

Reaction of 2-pyridylmagnesium chlorides with N,N-dialkyl arylamides afford exclusively 2-(aroyl) pyridines in high yields and purity without the formation of any tertiary alcohol. This method employs easily available raw materials and avoids the use of hazardous lithium reagents and cryogenic conditions. Further, preferential reactivity of this Grignard reagent with N,N-dialkyl arylamides over its carbonitrile counterparts offers a variety of 2-(aroyl) pyridines including the ones containing carbonitrile groups on the aryl ring.     

Intramolecular Ketone-Olefin Radical Cyclization with Low-Valent Titanium Reagent: Synthesis of Benzopyrans

A novel protocol for intramolecular ketyl-olefin radical cyclization with low-valent titanium reagent is outlined. It allows the formation of the benzopyran nucleus from ortho-allyloxy propiophenones as the sole product in moderate yields via intramolecular radical cyclization.     

Advances in the Bestmann–Ohira Reagent–Assisted Regioselective Synthesis of Substituted Pyrazoles,Triazoles, and Oxazoles

The Bestmann–Ohira reagent serves as a versatile platform for the regioselective construction of pyrazoles, triazoles, and oxazoles via a cycloaddition reaction and multicomponent reaction. In this review, we have summarized the most significant advances in the Bestmann–Ohira reagent (BOR)–assisted construction of functionalized five–membered heterocycles reported in the literature up to 2012.     

The Palladium Catalyzed Hydrostannation of 1-Alkenylphosphonates: A New Approach to Stereodefined α,β-Disubstituted Vinylphosphonates

Abstract

The palladium catalyzed hydrostannation of 1-alkenylphosphonates gives the (E)-α-stannyl 1-alkenylphosphonates 2 stereospecifically. 2 can be transferred to α,β-disubstituted vinylphosphonates with the retention of the configuration.     

One‐Step Synthesis of Aromatic Terminal Alkynes from Their Corresponding Ketones under Microwave Irradiation

One‐step microwave‐assisted synthesis of phenylacetylenes 2a–j from the corresponding ketones 1a–j in the presence of a new reagent, PCl₅–pyridine, is described. The reaction is carried out under a simple operational and experimental procedure, avoiding the use of the complicated and harsh multistep reaction.

5-Amino-4-cyano-1-(hetero)arylimidazoles 1 are prepared by reaction of N-(hetero)arylformimidoethylesters 2 with 2-aminomalodinitrile in acetic acid.     

Synthetic Approach to 4a-Methyltetrahydrofluorene-Type Diterpenoids via an Aromatic Oxidation of Phenol Derivatives

An intramolecular aromatic oxidation of a phenolic compound with a hypervalent iodine reagent afforded the coupling product, in which the coupling took place at the para-position of the methoxy goup of the starting material instead of the desired para-position of the isopropenyl group, unfortunately.      

Synthesis of Novel 5‐Trifluoromethyl‐2,4,7‐Trisubstituted Pyrido[2,3‐d]Pyrimidines

Abstract

Novel pyrido[2,3‐d]pyrimidines (2,4) were synthesized by reacting 2‐amino‐3‐cyano‐4‐trifluoromethyl‐6‐substituted pyridines (1) with Grignard reagent followed by condensation with anhydride/chloroacetylchloride/aromatic aldehyde.     

Enantioresolution of 2-methoxy-2-(1-naphtyl)propionic acid using diastereomeric salt formation with chiral phenylethylamine

An enantioresolution of 2-methoxy-2-(1-naphtyl)propionic acid (MαNP acid) using the diastereomeric salt with chiral (R)-phenylethylamine was achieved to give enantiopure (R)-MαNP acid in 29% yield with >99% ee based on rac-MαNP acid. X-ray crystallographic analysis of diastereomeric salt revealed that (R)-MαNP acid was tightly arranged by four independent hydrogen bonds and one CH–π interaction with (R)-phenylethylamine.
