The paper is devoted to the diffraction of a plane wave by an acoustically transparent semi-infinite cone. The problem of diffraction is reduced to a singular integral equation in the framework of the incomplete separation of variables. The Fredholm property and regularization of the integral equation are discussed. Some important integral representations of the wave field are considered. The detailed study of the far-field asymptotics is given. Expressions for the diffraction coefficient of the spherical wave scattered from the vertex of the cone are considered. The reflected from the conical surface waves and those transmitted across the surface are also discussed.  相似文献

This paper concerns the switching on of two-dimensional time-harmonic scalar waves. We first review the switch-on problem for a point source in free space, then proceed to analyse the analogous problem for the diffraction of a plane wave by a half-line (the ‘Sommerfeld problem’), determining in both cases the conditions under which the field is well-approximated by the solution of the corresponding frequency domain problem. In both cases the rate of convergence to the frequency domain solution is found to be dependent on the strength of the singularity on the leading wavefront. In the case of plane wave diffraction at grazing incidence the frequency domain solution is immediately attained along the shadow boundary after the arrival of the leading wavefront. The case of non-grazing incidence is also considered.  相似文献

This paper presents a more detailed interaction of an electromagnetics light with a metallic surface-relief subwavelength grating utilizing the rigorous coupled-wave analysis. The focus of this work is the accurate modeling of undetermined aspects of diffraction patterns produced by binary metallic grating structures, specially gold grating. First-order diffraction efficiency for rectangular-groove gold grating with equal groove and ridge widths are presented for various wavelengths as a function of period, groove depth, polarization and angle of incidence. We also studied diffraction efficiency of both of TE and TM polarization modes against increasing of incident angle as well as TE polarization against increment of grating period. As a result, very low reflectivity at zero-order was found out for TE and TM polarizations at the pitch of Λ = 2λ. Having been studied diffraction efficiency of metallic surface-relief gratings, we also examined polarization-dependent efficiency of diffraction orders, for different groove depths. 本文采用耦合波方法计算了对称面形光栅的衍射效率,分析了光栅截面面形为正弦、三角形、矩形、梯形光栅衍射效率与光栅周期、沟槽深度的关系,计算了光栅的峰值衍射效率。理论计算表明:合理地选择光栅周期、沟槽深度,对称面形光栅都可以达到很高衍射效率,接近100%;光栅的峰值衍射效率基本出现在Bragg衍射且光栅的周期等于衍射波长时。  相似文献

Theoretical analysis is performed for the loss characteristics of a polymer arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer around the central wavelength of 1.55 μm with the wavelength spacing of 1.6 nm. The total loss of the device includes the diffraction loss in the input and output (I/O) slab waveguides, bent loss caused by the AWG and I/O channels, leakage loss resulted from the high refractive index substrate, and propagation loss due to the absorption and scattering of the materials of the device. The effects of some structural parameters on the loss characteristics are investigated and discussed. The computed results show that when we select the core thickness as 4 μm, core width as 6 μm, pitch of adjacent waveguides as 15.5 μm, diffraction order as 50, the number of the arrayed waveguides as 91, that of the I/O channels as 17, confined layer thickness between the core and the substrate as 10 μm, distance between the focal point and the origin as 5500 μm, and central angle between the central waveguide and the x-axis (i.e. the vertical of the symmetrical line of the device) as 60°, the total loss of the device can be dropped to the range 3.79–7.93 dB.  相似文献

Chemiluminescence (CL) has been applied as a condition monitoring technique to assess aging related changes in a hydroxyl-terminated-polybutadiene based polyurethane elastomer. Initial thermal aging of this polymer was conducted between 110 and 50 °C. Two CL methods were applied to examine the degradative changes that had occurred in these aged samples: isothermal “wear-out” experiments under oxygen yielding initial CL intensity and “wear-out” time data, and temperature ramp experiments under inert conditions as a measure of previously accumulated hydroperoxides or other reactive species. The sensitivities of these CL features to prior aging exposure of the polymer were evaluated on the basis of qualifying this method as a quick screening technique for quantification of degradation levels. Both the techniques yielded data representing the aging trends in this material via correlation with mechanical property changes. Initial CL rates from the isothermal experiments are the most sensitive and suitable approach for documenting material changes during the early part of thermal aging.  相似文献

We study a problem of diffraction of a cylindrical acoustic wave from an absorbing half plane in a moving fluid introducing Myers' condition [M.K. Myers, On the acoustic boundary condition in the presence of flow, J. Sound Vibration 71 (1980) 429] and present an improved form of the analytic solution for the diffracted field. The importance of the work lies in the fact that Myers' condition (a generalization of Ingard's impedance condition) is now the accepted form of the boundary condition for impedance barriers with flow and hence yields a correct form of the field. The method of solution consists of Fourier transform, Wiener-Hopf technique and the modified method of stationary phase.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental study of Diffraction Radiation Oscillator (DRO) is reported in this paper, it is the first work done in P. R. China. The sphere-cylindrical open cavity used in the DRO has been analysed, the method for testing the field profile and the cold measurement of the open cavity have been worked out. The experimental device was manufactured in our lab. and the theoretical analysis and experimental study of the device have been carried out. The main experimental results are: from 2000 V to 4000 V, the tube operates in the 60–87 GHz band, and the maximum output power is about 800 mW.  相似文献

A passive technique for high-resolution detection of the wavelength of peak reflection from fibre Bragg grating (FBG) sensors is presented. The approach, based on a de-convolution of the FBG spectrum and the spectrometer resolution, essentially overcomes the low spectral resolution (≈0.1 nm) associated with commercial spectrometers employing CCD detection. The performance of two algorithms, the Centroid Detection algorithm (CDA) and the least squares method (LSQ), are compared. The LSQ algorithm offers resolution enhancement of at least two orders of magnitude and is shown to be independent of the FBG intensity and bandwidth over a broad range.  相似文献
