In this study, density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been performed to investigate the adsorption mechanisms of toluene and water onto various cationic forms of Y zeolite (LiY, NaY, KY, CsY, CuY and AgY). Our computational investigation revealed that toluene is mainly adsorbed via π–interactions on alkalis exchanged Y zeolites, where the adsorbed toluene moiety interacts with a single cation for all cases with the exception of CsY, where two cations can simultaneously contribute to the adsorption of the toluene, hence leading to the highest interaction observed among the series. Furthermore, we find that the interaction energies of toluene increase while moving down in the alkaline series where interaction energies are 87.8, 105.5, 97.8, and 114.4 kJ/mol for LiY, NaY, KY and CsY, respectively. For zeolites based on transition metals (CuY and AgY), our calculations reveal a different adsorption mode where only one cation interacts with toluene through two carbon atoms of the aromatic ring with interaction energies of 147.0 and 131.5 kJ/mol for CuY and AgY, respectively. More importantly, we show that water presents no inhibitory effect on the adsorption of toluene, where interaction energies of this latter were 10 kJ/mol (LiY) to 47 kJ/mol (CsY) higher than those of water. Our results point out that LiY would be less efficient for the toluene/water separation while CuY, AgY and CsY would be the ideal candidates for this application.  相似文献

在RHF/6-311G水平优化得到3,4-二硒方酸(3,4-二氢硒基-3-环丁烯-1,2-二酮)3 种平面构象异构体的平衡几何构型。进一步用MP2(full)/6-311G//RHF//6-311G方法计算单点能量,发现ZZ型异构体是能量最低构象,且ZZ和ZE型能量非常接近。用优化的最稳定构象ZZ型异构体在RHF/6-311G//RHF/6-311G、RHF/6-311+ G//RHF/6-311+ G、MP2(full)/6-311+ G//RHF/6-311+ G 和B3LYP/6-311+ G//B3LYP/6-311+ G水平计算其气相酸性(ΔG°)和同键反应芳香性稳定化能(HASE)。用基团加和法(group increm ent ap-proach ) 在 RHF/6-311 + G//RHF/6-311 + G 和 B3LYP/6-311 + G//B3LYP/6-311+ G水平计算其磁化率增量(Λ)。计算结果指出标题化合物的同键反应芳香性稳定化能和磁化率增量均为负值,表明它具有芳香性,实现了标题化合物芳香性的几何、能量和磁性的判定。  相似文献

This article presents a combined experimental and computational study of a new oxorhenium(V) complex of thiazolidine-2,4-dione (HTDO). The complex has been synthesized by direct reaction of NH4ReO4 with thiazolidine-2,4-dione in the presence of Na2S2O6 as a reducing agent. The complex [ReO(TDO)(H2O)3](S2O8) has been characterized by spectroscopy (FT-IR, NMR, UV-vis, mass), thermogravimetry, microanalysis, and HPL chromatography. The complex was geometrically optimized by DFT with B3LYP level of theory and satisfactory theoretical–experimental agreement was achieved for analysis of IR and NMR data of the complex. Additional information about binding between rhenium and oxo ligand in the complex has been obtained by NBO analysis. The antibacterial activity of the investigated complex has been tested and evaluated.  相似文献

The reaction mechanisms of intermolecular cleavage reaction of N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-phthalamic acid were studied via the density functional theory(DFT). All geometries of the reactant, transition states, and products were optimized at the B3LYP/6-31G(d, p) level. Vibration analysis was carried out to confirm its identity as transitions' structure, and the intrinsic reaction coordinate method(IRC) was used to search the minimum energy path. Two possible reaction channels are reported in this article. The calculated results indicate that O-cyclization reaction channel has the lower activation barrier, and therefore, it occurs more easier than the other.  相似文献

A semiempirical addition of dispersive forces to conventional density functionals (DFT-D) has been implemented into a pseudopotential plane-wave code. Test calculations on the benzene dimer reproduced the results obtained by using localized basis set, provided that the latter are corrected for the basis set superposition error. By applying the DFT-D/plane-wave approach a substantial agreement with experiments is found for the structure and energetics of polyethylene and graphite, two typical solids that are badly described by standard local and semilocal density functionals.  相似文献

Intramolecular H‐bonds existing for derivatives of 3‐imino‐propenylamine have been studied using the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory. The nature of these interactions, known as resonance‐assisted hydrogen bonds, has been discussed. Vibrational frequencies for α‐derivatives were calculated at the same level of theory. The topological properties of the electron density distributions for N? H···N intramolecular bridges have been analyzed in terms of the Bader theory of atoms in molecules (AIM). Calculation for 3‐imino‐propenylamine derivatives in water solution were also carried out at B3LYP/6‐311++G** level of theory. Finally, the analysis of hydrogen bond in this molecule and their derivatives by quantum theory of natural bond orbital methods fairly support the ab initio results. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Stacking energy of all the 10 unique DNA base‐pair steps (bp step) are calculated using density functional theory within the ultrasoft pseudopotential plane wave method and local density approximation for the exchange‐correlation functional. We have studied the dependence of stacking energy on twist angle, an aspect found difficult to explain using classical theory. We have found that the twist angle for different bp steps at stacking energy minimum matches extremely well with the values of average twist obtained from B‐DNA crystal structure data. This indicates that the use of a proper quantum chemical method to calculate the π‐π electronic interactions may explain stacking energy without incorporating hydrophobic interaction through solvent or effect of backbone through pseudobond. From the twist angle‐dependent stacking energy profile, we have also generated the probability distributions of twist for all the bp steps and calculated the variance of the distribution. Our calculated variances show similar trend to that of the experimental data for which sufficient numbers of data are available. The TA, AT, and CG doublets show large variances among the 10 possible bp steps, indicating their maximum flexibility.
