This article concerns the exact controllability of unitary groups on Hilbert spaces with unbounded control operator. It provides a necessary and sufficient condition not involving time which blends a resolvent estimate and an observability inequality. By the transmutation of controls in some time L for the corresponding second-order conservative system, it is proved that the cost of controls in time T for the unitary group grows at most like exp(αL2/T) as T tends to 0. In the application to the cost of fast controls for the Schrödinger equation, L is the length of the longest ray of geometric optics which does not intersect the control region. This article also provides observability resolvent estimates implying fast smoothing effect controllability at low cost, and underscores that the controllability cost of a system is not changed by taking its tensor product with a conservative system. 相似文献

An improvement of the recently described resonant chaos control method is suggested. Negative feedback loop containing a notch-rejection filter, tuned to the main harmonic of the unstable periodic orbit, is supplemented with a set of notch filters tuned to the higher harmonics. The extended method is applied to an electrical circuit representing the Duffing–Holmes type non-autonomous two-well chaotic oscillator. Stabilization of the period-1 orbit is achieved with very small control force. The residual control signal is about 1% compared to the main variable. Mathematical model based on a two-well piecewise parabolic potential is presented and numerical simulation is performed. Numerical results are confirmed by hardware experiments. 相似文献

We consider the problem of computing the set of initial states of a dynamical system such that there exists a control strategy to ensure that the trajectories satisfy a temporal logic specification with probability 1 (almost-surely). We focus on discrete-time, stochastic linear dynamics and specifications given as formulas of the Generalized Reactivity(1) fragment of Linear Temporal Logic over linear predicates in the states of the system. We propose a solution based on iterative abstraction-refinement, and turn-based 2-player probabilistic games. While the theoretical guarantee of our algorithm after any finite number of iterations is only a partial solution, we show that if our algorithm terminates, then the result is the set of all satisfying initial states. Moreover, for any (partial) solution our algorithm synthesizes witness control strategies to ensure almost-sure satisfaction of the temporal logic specification. While the proposed algorithm guarantees progress and soundness in every iteration, it is computationally demanding. We offer an alternative, more efficient solution for the reachability properties that decomposes the problem into a series of smaller problems of the same type. All algorithms are demonstrated on an illustrative case study. 相似文献

Flow over a rectangular porous block placed in a fixed width channel is considered and the influence of block aspect ratio on the heat transfer rate from the block is examined. A non-porous solid block is also accommodated to compare the effect of porosity on the flow field and heat transfer characteristics. Aspect ratio and the porosity of the block are varied in the simulations. A numerical scheme employing a control volume approach is considered when predicting the flow and temperature fields. The Reynolds number is selected to yield the mix convection situation in the flow field. It is found that the aspect ratio significantly influences Nu and Gr numbers, in which case increasing the aspect ratio enhances Nu while lowering Gr. Increasing porosity improves the heat transfer rates from the porous block, provided that at high aspect ratios, this situation ceases due to blockage effect of the body in the channel. 相似文献

We study a single removable server in an infinite and a finite queueing systems with Poisson arrivals and general distribution service times. The server may be turned on at arrival epochs or off at service completion epochs. We present a recursive method, using the supplementary variable technique and treating the supplementary variable as the remaining service time, to obtain the steady state probability distribution of the number of customers in a finite system. The method is illustrated analytically for three different service time distributions: exponential, 3-stage Erlang, and deterministic. Cost models for infinite and finite queueing systems are respectively developed to determine the optimal operating policy at minimum cost. 相似文献

Abstract An importance sampling procedure is developed to approximate the distribution of an arbitrary function of the eigenvalues for a matrix beta random matrix or a Wishart random matrix. The procedure is easily implemented and provides confidence intervals for the p-values of many of the commonly used test statistics in multivariate analysis.
