Luminescence efficiency of self-activated CaWO4 under 147 nm vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation excitation is about 90% of that of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ (BAM), the commercial blue plasma display panel (PDP) phosphor. However, the color purity and the particle size of the former needs substantial modification before it can be considered for application in PDP. CaWO4:Tm exhibits Tm3+ emission peaks in the blue region due to energy transfer from WO4 to Tm3+ ions but the overall emission intensity under 147 nm excitation is reduced when compared to that of CaWO4. 相似文献

In situ investigation of membrane proteins is a challenging task. Previously we demonstrated that nitroxide labels combined with pulsed ESR spectroscopy is a promising tool for this purpose. However, the nitroxide labels suffer from poor stability, high background labeling, and low sensitivity. Here we show that Finland (FTAM) and OX063 based labels enable labeling of the cobalamin transporter BtuB and BamA, the central component of the β-barrel assembly machinery (BAM) complex, in E coli. Compared to the methanethiosulfonate spin label (MTSL), trityl labels eliminated the background signals and enabled specific in situ labeling of the proteins with high efficiency. The OX063 labels show a long phase memory time (TM) of ≈5 μs. All the trityls enabled distance measurements between BtuB and an orthogonally labeled substrate with high selectivity and sensitivity down to a few μm concentration. The β-barrel assembly machinery (BAM complex) is essential for outer membrane protein (OMP) folding in Gram-negative bacteria, and represents a promising antimicrobial target. Several conformational states of BAM have been reported, but all have been obtained under conditions which lack the unique features and complexity of the outer membrane (OM). Here, we use Pulsed Electron-Electron Double Resonance (PELDOR, or DEER) spectroscopy distance measurements to interrogate the conformational ensemble of the BAM complex in E. coli cells. We show that BAM adopts a broad ensemble of conformations in the OM, while in the presence of the antibiotic darobactin B (DAR-B), BAM′s conformational equilibrium shifts to a restricted ensemble consistent with the lateral closed state. Our in-cell PELDOR findings are supported by new cryoEM structures of BAM in the presence and absence of DAR-B. This work demonstrates the utility of PELDOR to map conformational changes in BAM within its native cellular environment. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with interval general bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with proportional delays. Using appropriate nonlinear variable transformations, the interval general BAM neural networks with proportional delays can be equivalently transformed into the interval general BAM neural networks with constant delays. The sufficient condition for the existence and uniqueness of equilibrium point of the model is established by applying Brouwer's fixed point theorem. By constructing suitable delay differential inequalities, some sufficient conditions for the global exponential stability of the model are obtained. Without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation functions, the authors utilize the Lyapunov functional method to analyze the global convergence of some delayed models. For the Hopfield neural network with time delays, a new sufficient condition ensuring the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point is derived. This criterion concerning the signs of entries in the connection matrix imposes constraints on the feedback matrix independently of the delay parameters.
