A new method is introduced to solve potential flow problems around axisymmetric bodies. The approach relies on expressing the infinite series expansion of the Laplace equation solution in terms of a finite sum which preserves the Laplace solution for the potential function under a Neumann-type boundary condition. Then the coefficients of the finite sum are calculated in a least squares approximation sense using the Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization method. Sample benchmark problems are presented and discussed in some detail. The solutions are accurate and converged faster when a rather small number of terms were used. A simple eddy viscosity model is applied to the governing equations to establish the behaviour of the mean velocity in the turbulent axisymmetric near wake. The near wake develops from a long slender cylinder which is kept parallel to the flow and is developing under zero streamwise pressure gradient. The upstream turbulent boundary layer on the body of revolution is fully developed. In the inner layer of the flow downstream of the trailing edge, the turbulent inner layer of the upstream boundary layer grows into the initial logarithmic layer, and as a consequence, the centreline velocity in the near wake is shown to increase logarithmically with streamwise distances for large streamwise distances. The analysis further leads to two regions of the near wake flow (the inner near wake and the outer near wake), similar to that of a fully developed turbulent boundary layer, for which the governing equations have been derived. The matching between these two regions leads to a logarithmic variation in the normal direction. Also shown is the variation of the square of the wake width which varies logarithmically with streamwise distance in the near wake. A quantitative criterion called “shape parameter” to evaluate the quality of surface tension measurement of Axisymmetric Drop Shape Analysis (ADSA) is presented. ADSA is a powerful technique for the measurement of interfacial tensions and contact angles of pendant drops, sessile drops, and bubbles. Despite the general success of ADSA, deficient results may be obtained for drops close to spherical shape. Therefore, the “shape parameter” was used to determine the range of drop shapes in which ADSA succeeds or fails. The “shape parameter” is a dimensionless parameter that expresses quantitatively the difference in shape between a given experimental profile and an inscribed circle. The surface tension measurements of ADSA were evaluated for both pendant drop and constrained sessile drop configurations using the shape parameter. Different shapes of the pendant drop were studied using different sizes and materials of holders. For each drop configuration, a “critical shape parameter” was defined based on the minimum value of the shape parameter that guarantees an error of less than ±0.1 mJ/m2. One of the most common problems in wounds is delayed healing and complications such as infection. Therefore, the need for novel materials accelerates the healing of wounds especially abdominal wounds after surgery besides high efficiency and safety is mandatory. The rate of wound healing, anti-inflammatory and biocompatibility of Zn-Al LDH (Zn-Al layer double hydroxide) alone and loaded with Curcumin (Zn-Al LDH/Curcumin) was screened via in-vivo assays through intramuscular implantation in rat abdominal wall with intact peritoneum cavity. The implanted drugs were formed through Curcumin loaded into LDH of Zn-Al with drug release of 56.78 ± 1.51% within 24 h. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by (TGA/DTA) thermal analysis, (XRD) X-ray diffraction, (FESEM) Field emission scanning electron microscopy, (HRTEM) high resolution transmission electron microscope, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and low-temperature N2 adsorption, pore volume and average pore size distribution. The integrity of blood circulation, inflammatory signs, wound healing rate, capacity of tissue integration, antigenicity and composite biocompatibility, auto fluorescence ability of collagen bundles and the tensile strength of the muscle were assessed histopathologically after 7 and 30 days’ post-implantation. Excellent wound healing ability was achieved with shortest length between the wound gap edges and higher tensile strength of the muscle. Besides emit florescence very well followed by good healing and tensile muscles strength in Curcumin while very low strength with scar formation in Zn-Al LDH/Curcumin in both acute and chronic wound. No signs of inflammation in Curcumin & Zn-Al LDH. No vessels obstruction or bleeding observed in both Zn-Al LDH and Curcumin more than Zn-Al LDH/Curcumin and control which examined through candling. Good healing & infiltrated immune cells in same groups through histopathological examination. This work supports the anti-inflammatory, wound healing and biocompatibility of both LDH and Curcumin with living matter, increasing their biomedical applications in this era with safety and increasing efficacy with prolonged drug release. 相似文献

This paper presents an adaptive network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS)–auto regression (AR)–analysis of variance (ANOVA) algorithm to improve oil consumption estimation and policy making. ANFIS algorithm is developed by different data preprocessing methods and the efficiency of ANFIS is examined against auto regression (AR) in Canada, United Kingdom and South Korea. For this purpose, mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is used to show the efficiency of ANFIS. The algorithm for calculating ANFIS performance is based on its closed and open simulation abilities. Moreover, it is concluded that ANFIS provides better results than AR in Canada, United Kingdom and South Korea. This is unlike previous expectations that auto regression always provides better estimation for oil consumption estimation. In addition, ANOVA is used to identify policy making strategies with respect to oil consumption. This is the first study that introduces an integrated ANFIS–AR–ANOVA algorithm with preprocessing and post processing modules for improvement of oil consumption estimation in industrialized countries. 相似文献

Radiative heat transfer in an axisymmetric enclosure with absorbing, emitting, and scattering medium is studied here by using the different methods such as MDOM, FVM, and MFVM with emphasis on the treatment of angular derivative term, which appears in curvilinear coordinates due to angular redistribution. After final discretization equation for MFVM is introduced by using the step scheme and directional weights, the present approach is validated by applying it to three different benchmarking problems with absorbing, emitting, and scattering medium. All of the results presented here support its accuracy as well as moderate efficiency.
