Beiträge der Radiotracertechnik zur Rationalisierung einer großtechnischen Anlage zur Caprolactamproduktion

This paper reviews ways in which radioactive tracer techniques can he used to improve the efficiency of a caprolactam production plant, Residence time spectra and material distributions in different parts of the plant were measured by application of sodium 24, bromine 82 and technetium 99m. The investigations led to improved cumeneoxidators and gave useful informations on the catalytic decomposition of the phenolic tar and the hydrogenation process of phenol. It could he shown that the construction of the lactam extractor must he varied and the results of the tracerexperiments made in the distillation unit contributed to a higher quality of the final product.     

ESSENTIALLY ALGEBRAIC CATEGORIES

Abstract

Various familiar concepts of algebraic categories (such as primitive and quasiprimitive categories of algebras as well as varietal, monadic, regular monadic, and regular categories) are contrasted with each other and with the new notion of essentially algebraic categories.

The new notion has pleasant features and covers several cases of an apparently algebraic nature, which are not covered by any of the older concepts.

Abstract

The reaction of 2-pyridine carboxylic acid (Hpic) with (n-Bu₄N)[TcNCl₄] and (n-Bu₄N)[TcOCl₄] in ethanol and methanol, respectively, yields the dinuclear μ-oxo complex [(pic)₂NTc-O-TcN(pic)(Hpic)Cl] and the monomeric complex [TcO(pic)₂Cl].

Visible and infrared spectroscopy, ESR, ¹H-NMR and ⁹⁹Tc-NMR have been used to characterize the new compounds. The most important field of application for the new compounds synthesized is radiodiagnostics.     

Covalent Organic Frameworks(COFs) for Sequestration of99TcO4–

Covalent organic frameworks(COFs), as a class of crystalline porous materials with periodic lattices and porous structures, have received extensive attention in the fields of gas storage and separation, energy storage, catalysis and optoelectronics and so on. However, COFs are still in their infancy in the field of nuclear waste treatment, especially for sequestration of long-live problematic radionuclides, such as ⁹⁹Tc. Battle of decontamination of pertechnetate(TcO₄^–), a main existence of ⁹⁹Tc under aerobic environments, is far from finished. In this review, recent progresses of COFs and some relative materials in the sequestration of pertechnetate, and perspective on surmounting the unmet issues are elucidated.     

Modified Preparation of 99mTe-Iron Hydroxide Macroaggregate (99mTe-Fe-(OH)2MA)

A modified method for preparing ^99mTc-FHMA for pulmonary studies is elabrated. It includes a new antioxidant sodium metabisulphite. The optimum conditions for the reparation are given. A simple and rapid procedure with a yield more than 98% is described which eliminates a further purification step.     

Interaction Products of 12·5 Deuterons with Molybdenum and their Isolation Possibilities from Worn-out Cyclotron Parts

Using chemical separations and radiometric measurements medium-half-life irradiation products of molybdenum with 12.5 MeV deuterons were determined (⁹⁰Nb, ⁹²Nb, ^95mNb, ⁹⁵Nb, ⁹⁶Nb, ⁹⁹Mo, ^95mTc, ⁹⁶Tc, ^99mTc) as well as thick target yields for some of them: ⁹²Nb (0.22 μCi/μAh), ⁹⁵Nb(0.05 μCi/μAh), ⁹⁹Mo (64 μCi/μAh), ^95mTc(0.76 μCi/μAh), ⁹⁶Tc((62.5 μCi/μAh). Moreover isolation possibiities of radioactive preparations from removed worn-cut molybdenum parts of the U-120 cycletron are discussed.     

Q‐symmetry and conditional Q‐symmetries for Drinfel'd–Sokolov–Wilson system

We study in this paper the Q‐symmetry and conditional Q‐symmetries of Drinfel'd–Sokolov–Wilson equations. The solutions which we obtain in this paper take the form of convergent power series with easily computable components. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Microgels at droplet interfaces of water-in-oil emulsions—challenges and progress

Most of the commonly used microgels (MGs) are hydrophilic and tend to form oil-in-water emulsions. In this review, we discuss the function of MGs at the droplet interface in order to stabilize water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions. This topic addresses both interesting questions in fundamental research and a significant impact for applications, where the w/o emulsion type is of essential importance. Promising approaches to stabilize w/o emulsions with MGs are highlighted from different perspectives, ranging from novel MG modifications to assisted co-stabilization by adding soft or hard particles. We summarize the accumulated knowledge, evaluate the challenges and solutions, and highlight future research trends.     

Collapsing and monopole classes of 3-manifolds

By applying the L²$L^2$-estimate of the scalar curvature of a Riemannian 3-manifold with a Seiberg–Witten monopole class to a collapsing sequence of metrics, we obtain conditions to be a monopole class on certain 3-manifolds. This also gives a relation between a maximizing sequence of the Yamabe constants and the collapsing on a 3-manifold with a non-torsion monopole class.     

Gravitational interpretation of the Hitchin equations

By referring to theorems of Donaldson and Hitchin, we exhibit a rigorous AdS/CFT-type correspondence between classical 2+1-dimensional vacuum general relativity theory on Σ×R$\Sigma \times \mathbb{R}$ and SO(3) Hitchin theory (regarded as a classical conformal field theory) on the spacelike past boundary Σ$\Sigma$, a compact, oriented Riemann surface of genus greater than 1. Within this framework we can interpret the 2+1-dimensional vacuum Einstein equation as a decoupled “dual” version of the two-dimensional SO(3) Hitchin equations.
