A diffusive predator-prey model in heterogeneous environment

In this paper, we demonstrate some special behavior of steady-state solutions to a predator-prey model due to the introduction of spatial heterogeneity. We show that positive steady-state solutions with certain prescribed spatial patterns can be obtained when the spatial environment is designed suitably. Moreover, we observe some essential differences of the behavior of our model from that of the classical Lotka-Volterra model that seem to arise only in the heterogeneous case.     

Subword complexes in Coxeter groups

Let (Π,Σ) be a Coxeter system. An ordered list of elements in Σ and an element in Π determine a subword complex, as introduced in Knutson and Miller (Ann. of Math. (2) (2003), to appear). Subword complexes are demonstrated here to be homeomorphic to balls or spheres, and their Hilbert series are shown to reflect combinatorial properties of reduced expressions in Coxeter groups. Two formulae for double Grothendieck polynomials, one of which appeared in Fomin and Kirillov (Proceedings of the Sixth Conference in Formal Power Series and Algebraic Combinatorics, DIMACS, 1994, pp. 183-190), are recovered in the context of simplicial topology for subword complexes. Some open questions related to subword complexes are presented.     

Stable model categories are categories of modules

A stable model category is a setting for homotopy theory where the suspension functor is invertible. The prototypical examples are the category of spectra in the sense of stable homotopy theory and the category of unbounded chain complexes of modules over a ring. In this paper we develop methods for deciding when two stable model categories represent ‘the same homotopy theory’. We show that stable model categories with a single compact generator are equivalent to modules over a ring spectrum. More generally stable model categories with a set of generators are characterized as modules over a ‘ring spectrum with several objects’, i.e., as spectrum valued diagram categories. We also prove a Morita theorem which shows how equivalences between module categories over ring spectra can be realized by smashing with a pair of bimodules. Finally, we characterize stable model categories which represent the derived category of a ring. This is a slight generalization of Rickard's work on derived equivalent rings. We also include a proof of the model category equivalence of modules over the Eilenberg-Mac Lane spectrum HR and (unbounded) chain complexes of R-modules for a ring R.     

Tangent circle bundles admit positive open book decompositions along arbitrary links

In the present paper we generalize the divide lying in the unit disk, introduced by A'Campo, to compact, oriented, smooth surfaces, and prove a fibration theorem for generalized divides. As a consequence, we will show that, for any link L in the tangent circle bundle Y to the compact surface, there exists an additional knot K such that the link L∪K is the binding of a “positive” open book decomposition of Y.     

Relative morsification theory

In this paper we develop a Morsification Theory for holomorphic functions defining a singularity of finite codimension with respect to an ideal, which recovers most previously known morsification results for non-isolated singularities and generalise them to a much wider context. We also show that deforming functions of finite codimension with respect to an ideal within the same ideal respects the Milnor fibration. Furthermore we present some applications of the theory: we introduce new numerical invariants for non-isolated singularities, which explain various aspects of the deformation of functions within an ideal; we define generalisations of the bifurcation variety in the versal unfolding of isolated singularities; applications of the theory to the topological study of the Milnor fibration of non-isolated singularities are presented. Using intersection theory in a generalised jet-space we show how to interpret the newly defined invariants as certain intersection multiplicities; finally, we characterise which invariants can be interpreted as intersection multiplicities in the above mentioned generalised jet space.     

氘代聚合物膜靶制备技术与性能研究

 氘代聚合物膜是快点火基础物理实验的一种重要靶型。通过氘代苯乙烯单体的本体自由基聚合反应制备氘代聚苯乙烯，并利用流延法和浇铸法制备出厚度从几十nm到数百μm的膜靶。溶剂挥发过程中的随机扰动对膜厚均匀性造成影响，采用清洁的基片和在涂沫基片或模具外加防护罩可以降低这种影响。采用PVA作脱膜剂有利于获得较薄的聚合物薄膜。DSC分析表明薄膜的玻璃化转变温度与热处理过程有关，缓慢退火有利于提高Ｔ-g和储能模量。     

SURFACE METALLIZATION OF CENOSPHERES AND PRECIPITATORS BY ELECTROLESS PLATING

This paper reports the use of a colloidal Pd^0 catalysis system to metallize the surface of precipitators separated from coal fly-ash, and metals such as Cu, Ni etc. are deposited on the precipitators surface. Alternatively, according to the characteristic surface of cenospheres, an Ag coating catalysis system is adopted to first deposit Ag on the cenospheres surface, followed, if necessary, by the deposition of other metals such as Cu, Ni, etc. on the Ag coating to produce monolayer and multilayer metal-coated cenospheres. The surface characteristics and the morphologies of the metal coatings are examined in detail with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. It can be shown that the quality of metal coatings derived from the Aa coatina catalysis system, is better than that of the colloidal Pd^0 catalysis system.

An asymmetric Ellis theorem

In 1957 Robert Ellis proved that a group with a locally compact Hausdorff topology T making all translations continuous also has jointly continuous multiplication and continuous inversion, and is thus a topological group. The theorem does not apply to locally compact asymmetric spaces such as the reals with addition and the topology of upper open rays. We first show a bitopological Ellis theorem, and then introduce a generalization of locally compact Hausdorff, called locally skew compact, and a topological dual, Tk, to obtain the following asymmetric Ellis theorem which applies to the example above:Whenever (X,⋅,T) is a group with a locally skew compact topology making all translations continuous, then multiplication is jointly continuous in both (X,⋅,T) and (X,⋅,Tk), and inversion is a homeomorphism between (X,T) and (X,Tk).This generalizes the classical Ellis theorem, because T=Tk when (X,T) is locally compact Hausdorff.     

HL—1装置SiC涂层辐照实验的表面分析

本文应用表面分析技术研究HL-1装置中SiC涂层的等离子体辐照性能。结果表明,SiC材料应用于孔栏和壁涂层有利于减少杂质和提高等离子体品质。
