Using the second Fenchel conjugate transform the conjugate integral sums and the conjugate integral are introduced. An estimate of speed of convergence of the sums to the integral is obtained. In the case of a convex integrant the conjugate integral reduces to the Riemannian one. It is proved that the Fenchel conjugate transform of the conjugate integral with variable upper limit provides a formula for the viscosity solution to a Hamilton-Jacobi equation in which the Hamiltonian depends both on time and the gradient of the unknown function. In the autonomous case the obtained formula coincides with Hopf's one. Two examples are considered in which an application of the conjugate integral allows to find viscosity solutions explicitly. It is shown how the extension of the Lax-Oleînik formula to the nonautonomous case may be obtained using the generalized Hopf formula.This paper was prepared while the author was a Lise Meitner fellow at the Institut für Mathematik, Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Austria 相似文献

A semigroup with zero isidempotent bounded (IB) if it is the 0-direct union of idempotent generated principal left ideals and the 0-direct union of idempotent generated principal right ideals. Notable examples are completely 0-simple semigroups and the wider class of primitive abundant semigroups. Significant to the structure of these semigroups is that they are all categorical at zero. In this paper we describe IB semigroups that are categorical at zero in terms ofdouble blocked Rees matrix semigroups. This generalises Fountain's characterisation of primitive abundant semigroups via blocked Rees matrix semigroups [1], which in turn yields the Rees theorem for completely 0-simple semigroups. 相似文献

We consider numerical methods for the incompressible Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes equations discretized by finite difference
techniques on non-staggered grids in body-fitted coordinates. A segregated approach is used to solve the pressure–velocity
coupling problem. Several iterative pressure linear solvers including Krylov subspace and multigrid methods and their combination
have been developed to compare the efficiency of each method and to design a robust solver. Three-dimensional numerical experiments
carried out on scalar and vector machines and performed on different fluid flow problems show that a combination of multigrid
and Krylov subspace methods is a robust and efficient pressure solver.

It is shown how the recently developed Hadamard expansion procedure can be applied to the hyperasymptotic evaluation of Laplace-type integrals containing a large variable when the phase function has a cluster of close-lying saddle points. The modification to this procedure that is required when the saddles in the cluster coalesce to form a single higher-order saddle is discussed. An example is also considered in which there is both a coalescence of saddles and a Stokes phenomenon as the phase of the large variable is allowed to vary. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy that can be obtained with this new procedure. 相似文献

In this paper the problem of estimating a covariance matrix parametrized by an irreducible symmetric cone in a decision-theoretic set-up is considered. By making use of some results developed in a theory of finite-dimensional Euclidean simple Jordan algebras, Bartlett's decomposition and an unbiased risk estimate formula for a general family of Wishart distributions on the irreducible symmetric cone are derived; these results lead to an extension of Stein's general technique for derivation of minimax estimators for a real normal covariance matrix. Specification of the results to the multivariate normal models with covariances which are parametrized by complex, quaternion, and Lorentz types gives minimax estimators for each model. 相似文献
