Chromosomal localization of a quail homeobox gene: Quox-1

Quox-1 is an Antp-like homeobox gene of quail embryo whose expression occurs throughout the developing central nervous system. Using a Dig-labeled probe, we localized quox-1 gene on the terminal region of the long arm of quail's chromosome 1 by ISH. Suppored by Developmental fund of Wuhan University Liu Ting: born in 1970. 葛根-丹参组方对动脉粥样硬化鹌鹑血管内皮组织 的影响

目的：考察葛根-丹参(1:1)组方对动脉粥样硬化鹌鹑血管内皮组织的影响. 方法: 连续喂养高脂饲料造模同时给药, 观察葛根-丹参对动脉粥样硬化鹌鹑主动脉组织脂质斑块、内皮及内膜组织的影响. 结果: 葛根-丹参组方配伍后, 无论乙酸乙酯部位还是水提物, 均能较好的减少泡沫细胞及脂质的沉积, 改善内皮细胞的肿胀、变性, 抑制血管内膜的增厚及巨噬细胞的数量, 尤以乙酸乙酯部位作用明显. 结论: 葛根丹参组方配伍具有一定的减少主动脉组织脂质斑块形成, 保护血管内皮细胞作用, 有效地阻止AS的形成与发展.     

Quantitative HPLC of pigments of irregularly coloured eggshells: application to aliquots of powdered shell from quail

Twelve quail eggshells from farmed Coturnix coturnix japonica were separately ground to fine powder and two aliquots of each (average weights 13.86 mg and 51.90 mg) were extracted with formic acid. Biliverdin (38–284 pmol/mg) and protoporphyrin (841–1666 pmol/mg) were measured by HPLC. There was good agreement between the values for the corresponding samples and with those for two entire eggshells from the same source. The preparation of a homogenate as a powder from heterogeneously pigmented eggshells has the advantage that not all of the sample needs to be initially extracted for analysis and residual material can be stored in a stable form and used for repeat measurements and for longitudinal studies. 鸡与鹌鹑杂交种早期胚胎发育特异表达基因的初步筛选

利用mRNA差异显示技术，对入孵67～91h的鸡（♀）与鹌鹑（♂）杂交种胚胎中mRNA差异表达进行比较，筛选出与杂交种胚胎早期发育相关的特异表达基因，并克隆测序这些序列，分析这些基因在杂交受精蛋早期胚胎发育中的作用，及其对杂交种早期胚胎死亡是否有影响。分析结果表明，已经获得6个杂交种孵化不同时期的基因片段与鸡的mRNA序列具有高度同源性。其中，孵化第72h时胚胎mRNA表达的序列与鸡雌激素受体结合位点相关抗原mRNA具有高度同源性，孵化第79h时产生的差异片段经过比对，发现：与鸡（♀）肽酰-脯氨酰异构酶类似的mRNA序列具有高度同源性。而杂交种胚胎发育到第72h时，可检测到鸡雌激素受体结合位点相关抗原mRNA的表达，比前人所得到的表达时间（胚胎发育在第84h时检测到）提前了12h，这很可能是造成杂交种早期胚胎大量死亡的原因之一。     

鹌鹑中脑GABA能神经元的分布

以非鸣禽鹌鹑（Coturnix coturnix japonica）为实验材料,使用GABA单克隆抗体进行免疫组化实验,实验结果显示,在鹌鹑中脑存在GABA样免疫反应神经元．讨论了GABA能神经元在中脑的分布特点及其在听觉、视觉中的作用。     

Isolation and characterization of free haem from the shell gland of quail and hen

Free haem was isolated from the shell gland of the quail, Coturnix coturnix japonica, and of the fowl, Galinus domesticus, and characterized by HPLC‐ESI‐MS/MS. Quantification by HPLC gave values of 1.17–1.40 nmol/mg quail shell gland protein for haem, 1.66–2.17 nmol/mg protein for protoporphyrin and 0.25–0.40 nmol/mg protein for biliverdin. Possible implications of this previously unreported finding are discussed but they are not considered incompatible with the conclusion that all eggshell pigments are endogenously synthesized in the oviduct system. 黄芪抗氧化部位及其与三七总皂甙配伍组分对动脉粥样硬化的改善

用油脂稳定性指数(oil stability index,OSI)法筛选确定了黄芪乙酸乙酯抗氧化活性部位,并以高酯饲料喂养鹌鹑造动脉粥样硬化（atherosclerosis,AS）模型,考察黄芪抗氧化活性组分及其与三七总皂甙(PNS)配伍组分对实验性动脉粥样硬化的影响.给药8周,检测血清总胆固醇（TC）、甘油三酯（TG）、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇（LDL-C）、高密度脂蛋白胆固醇（HDL-C）、总抗氧化能力(T-AOC)、超氧化物歧化酶（SOD）、丙二醛（MDA）含量.结果表明,黄芪抗氧化活性组分及其与PNS的配伍组分可显著降低（P<0.1）血清TC,TG,LDL-C,TC/HDL-C系数和MDA,升高血清HDL-C及T-AOC,SOD水平,对高脂胆固醇鹌鹑动脉粥样硬化具有很好的改善作用.     

鹌鹑的人工受精试验研究

鹌鹑的人工受精国内尚未见报道,其意义是可充分利用优良公母鹑,加速鹌鹑的繁育改良工作。本试验研究的结果证明,鹌鹑实行人工授精对公母鹑的健康均无损害,公母鹑共计147,试验4周无一死亡;也不影响母鹑的产蛋性能,试验组平均产蛋率为86.6％,自然交配对照组则为81.6％。但是原精液输精其受精率较低,最高仅为47.1％,这有待于进一步研究提高。
