A numerical method to simulate plasma induced electrohydrodynamic flow is proposed in this study. The numerical model consists of three components. Firstly, a potential module to simulate temporal potential and electric field generated in the ionized fluid. Secondly, a plasma module to simulate plasma development and charge particle densities. Finally, a fluid module to simulate the flow affected by the body forces induced by the movement of the charged particles. Fluid flow is modeled using modified predictor-corrector strategy as proposed in the marker and cell method. The velocity field was corrected to achieve incompressible flow by calculating pressure correction factors, considered in all cells. Numerical convergence and time sensitivity analysis were carried to confirm grid independence and determine an efficient time step for simulations. Numerical computations are validated by comparing with experimental results of discharge currents and current densities. They were found to be in very good agreement thus providing an extensive validation. Furthermore, quiescent flow over a dielectric barrier discharge actuator is simulated in the this study, using the proposed plasma-fluid model, to model flow evolution and resolve temporal flow features for detailed analysis. The streamline and vorticity plots were analyzed and compared with experimental results, and flow results were found to be in-line with the experiments.  相似文献

In structural dynamics, similitude laws usually deal with simple configurations as thin flat plates with point forces. Only recently, few papers have analyzed stiffened shells or stochastic pressure loads.This research activity extends the applicability of some similitude laws, developed for thin flat plates under a turbulent boundary layer load, to ribbed plates forced by the same wall pressure fluctuations.The work addresses the problem of designing a scaled experimental test-article and, successively, of re-modulating the measured data in order to get the structural response of an original (unscaled) configuration.Due to the complexity of the structural domain, the design of a scaled configuration leads to a distorted similitude. Then, a simple approach, to circumvent the distortion effects, is proposed.  相似文献

H2 may be evolved biphasically using a polarised liquid|liquid interface, acting as a “proton pump”, in combination with organic soluble metallocenes as electron donors. Sustainable H2 production requires methodologies to recycle the oxidised donor. Herein, the photo-recycling of decamethylferrocenium cations (DcMFc+) using aqueous core-shell semiconductor CdSe@CdS nanoparticles is presented. Negative polarisation of the liquid|liquid interface is required to extract DcMFc+ to the aqueous phase. This facilitates the efficient capture of electrons by DcMFc+ on the surface of the photo-excited CdSe@CdS nanoparticles, with hydrophobic DcMFc subsequently partitioning back to the organic phase and resetting the system. TiO2 (P25) and CdSe semiconductor nanoparticles failed to recycle DcMFc+ due to their lower conduction band energy levels. During photo-recycling, CdS (on CdSe) may be self-oxidised and photo-corrode, instead of water acting as the hole scavenger.  相似文献

Herein the fundamentally new unit for production of silicate refractory melts with the use of high-concentrated heat fluxes is considered. Mathematical model describing temperature fields in skull layer in the process of the plasma flow interaction with the particles of refractory silicate material has been developed. Typical numerical results of temperature distribution in various sections of the skull layer are presented. Numerical and experimental data have been compared, and their fair agreement is obtained. By formation of an intermediate semiconductor layer (ISL) with a narrow band gap at the metallic contact/SiC interface, this paper realises a new method to fabricate the low-resistance Ohmic contacts for SiC. An array of transfer length method (TLM) test patterns is formed on N-wells created by P+ ion implantation into Si-faced p-type 4H-SiC epilayer. The ISL of nickel-metal Ohmic contacts to n-type 4H-SiC could be formed by using Germanium ion implantation into SiC. The specific contact resistance ρc as low as 4.23× 10-5~Ωega \cdotcm2 is achieved after annealing in N2 at 800~°C for 3~min, which is much lower than that (>900~°C) in the typical SiC metallisation process. The sheet resistance Rsh of the implanted layers is 1.5~kΩega /\Box. The technique for converting photoresist into nanocrystalline graphite is used to protect the SiC surface in the annealing after Ge+ ion implantations.  相似文献

Cavitation in thin layer of liquid metal has potential applications in chemical reaction, soldering, extraction, and therapeutic equipment. In this work, the cavitation characteristics and acoustic pressure of a thin liquid Ga–In alloy were studied by high speed photography, numerical simulation, and bubble dynamics calculation. A self-made ultrasonic system with a TC4 sonotrode, was operated at a frequency of 20 kHz and a max output power of 1000 W during the cavitation recording experiment. The pressure field characteristic inside the thin liquid layer and its influence on the intensity, types, dimensions, and life cycles of cavitation bubbles and on the cavitation evolution process against experimental parameters were systematically studied. The results showed that acoustic pressure inside the thin liquid layer presented alternating positive and negative characteristics within 1 acoustic period (T). Cavitation bubbles nucleated and grew during the negative-pressure stage and shrank and collapsed during the positive-pressure stage. A high bubble growth speed of 16.8 m/s was obtained and evidenced by bubble dynamics calculation. The maximum absolute pressure was obtained at the bottom of the thin liquid layer and resulted in the strongest cavitation. Cavitation was divided into violent and weak stages. The violent cavitation stage lasted several hundreds of acoustic periods and had higher bubble intensity than the weak cavitation stage. Cavitation cloud preferentially appeared during the violent cavitation stage and had a life of several acoustic periods. Tiny cavitation bubbles with life cycles shorter than 1 T dominated the cavitation field. High cavitation intensities were observed at high ultrasonication power and when Q235B alloy was used because such conditions lead to high amplitudes on the substrate and further high acoustic pressure inside the liquid.  相似文献

The bending characteristics of a composite panel with asymmetric layered structure under local surface loads are obtained. A refined version of the applied theory is developed using the analytical solution of the bending problem of a sandwich plate with arbitrary asymmetric structure under a point load. Local effects are investigated within the limits of a discrete model allowing for the specific character of elastic properties of a soft filler. The advantages of the solution are expressions of bending characteristics — layer curvatures, displacements, and stresses — in a closed form. It is shown that these characteristics can vary several times depending on the asymmetry parameters of the structure. Degeneration peculiarities of the solution, stemming from the slipping of layers or, otherwise, their rigid linking by the Kirchoff—Love hypothesis, as well as from account of the transverse shear and compression of the normal, are examined in line with the degeneration of geometric and physical parameters of the discrete model adopted.
