The series solutions of unsteady flows of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid caused by an impulsively
rotating infinite disk are given by means of an analytic technique, namely the homotopy analysis method. Using a set of new
similarity transformations, we transfer the Navier–Stokes equations into a pair of nonlinear partial differential equations.
The convergent series solutions are obtained, which are uniformly valid for all dimensionless time 0 ≤ τ < ∞ in the whole
spatial region 0 ≤ η < ∞. To the best of our knowledge, such kind of series solutions have never been reported. The effect

As alternative to the usual assumptions of Boussinesq, we propose, for heated gases, a new approximation called polytropic approximation. With this approximation the quantities of corresponding state are related by a polytropic law of exponent χ of which we neglect the variability in space-time derivations in the equations governing the flow considered. As application, we used this new proposition to solve numerically a heated gas flow in an annular cavity of rotor-stator type. In a previous article the authors introduced a Lagrange multiplier based fictitious domain method. Their goal in the present article is to apply a generalization of the above method to: (i) the numerical simulation of the motion of neutrally buoyant particles in a three-dimensional Poiseuille flow; (ii) study – via direct numerical simulations – the migration of neutrally buoyant balls in the tube Poiseuille flow of an incompressible Newtonian viscous fluid. The quadratic law of laminar flow through porous media at high Reynolds numbers, which is well confirmed by the multiple experimental data, is shown to give rise to three fundamental paradoxes. All them can be resolved by assuming the singular structure of flow. The singularity is produced by the formation of jet brunches which invade the stagnant zones and sharply loss their kinetic energy. We study scalar diffusion, both from Eulerian and Lagrangian perspectives, advected by two dimensional flows. Emphasis is devoted to the problem of scalar diffusion under a synthetic turbulent flow. We present numerical and analytical results for the turbulent diffusion coefficient either from the influence of the turbulent synthetic field and a periodic array of eddies. We are examining the classical problem of unsteady flow in a phreatic semi-infinite aquifer, induced by sudden rise or drawdown
of the boundary head, by taking into account the influence of the inertial effects. We demonstrate that for short times the
inertial effects are dominant and the equation system describing the flow behavior can be reduced to a single ordinary differential
equation. This equation is solved both numerically by the Runge-Kutta method and analytically by the Adomian’s decomposition
approach and an adequate polynomial-exponential approximation as well. The influence of the viscous term, occurring for longer
times, is also taken into account by solving the full Forchheimer equation by a finite difference approach. It is also demonstrated
that as for the Darcian flow, for the case of small fluctuations of the water table, the computation procedure can be simplified
by using a linearized form of the mass balance equation. Compact analytical expressions for the computation of the water stored
or extracted from an aquifer, including viscous corrections are also developed. 相似文献

This work is concerned with a two-phase material consisting of an elastoplastic matrix reinforced by linearly elastic fibres. It is first shown that uniform strain fields can be generated in this heterogeneous material. A return-mapping based algorithm is then proposed and used to find uniform strain loading paths. With the help of uniform strain fields, exact results, independent of the transverse geometry and arrangement of the fibres, are derived for the effective elastic properties and for the effective initial and current yield surfaces. <strong>To cite this article: Q.-C. Microtubules are regulated by microtubule‐associated proteins. However, little is known about the structure of microtubule‐associated proteins in complex with microtubules. Herein we show that the microtubule‐associated protein Tau, which is intrinsically disordered in solution, locally folds into a stable structure upon binding to microtubules. While Tau is highly flexible in solution and adopts a β‐sheet structure in amyloid fibrils, in complex with microtubules the conserved hexapeptides at the beginning of the Tau repeats two and three convert into a hairpin conformation. Thus, binding to microtubules stabilizes a unique conformation in Tau. 相似文献
