Small Periodic Solutions Generated by Sublinear Terms

The paper is concerned with Hopf bifurcations in systems of autonomous ordinary differential equations with a parameter. The principal distinction between usual theorems on Hopf bifurcations and our results is that here the linearized equation is degenerate and independent of the parameter. We present sufficient conditions for a parameter value to be a bifurcation point and analyze properties of small cycles arising in the vicinity of the equilibrium. Sublinear nonlinearities play the main role in the results obtained.     

Mini-Maximizers for Reaction-Diffusion Systems with Skew-Gradient Structure

A reaction-diffusion system with skew-gradient structure is a sort of activator-inhibitor system that consists of two gradient systems coupled in a skew-symmetric way. Any steady state of such a system corresponds to a critical point of some functional. The aim of this paper is to study the relation between a stability property as a steady state of the reaction-diffusion system and a mini-maximizing property as a critical point of the functional. It is shown that a steady state of the skew-gradient system is stable regardless of time constants if and only if it is a mini-maximizer of the functional. It is also shown that the mini-maximizing property is closely related with the diffusion-induced instability. Moreover, by using the property that any mini-maximizer on a convex domain is spatially homogeneous, quite a general instability criterion is obtained for some activator-inhibitor systems. These results are applied to the diffusive FitzHugh-Nagumo system and the Gierer-Meinhardt system.

该文讨论了两种群竞争系统解的动力学行为，其中一种群分幼年，成年两阶段，当不考虑自食时，得到了阶段结构的竞争系统也可以出现三种典型的动力学行为，共存（coexietence)，双稳定（bistability),占优（dominance)，进一步，在没有自食时竞争系统是占优的情形下，考虑自食的影响，得到了所有种群永久持续生存的充分条件，这表明自食有稳定性的作用。     

A layer potential analysis for transmission problems for Brinkman‐type systems in Lipschitz domains in

The aim of this paper is to establish a well‐posedness result for a boundary value problem of transmission‐type for the standard and generalized Brinkman systems in two Lipschitz domains in , the former being bounded, and the latter, its complement in . As a first step, we establish a well‐posedness result for a transmission problem for the standard Brinkman systems on complementary Lipschitz domains in by making use of the Potential theory developed for such a system. As a second step, we prove our desired result (in L²‐based Sobolev spaces) by using a method based on Fredholm operator theory and the well‐posedness result from the previous step.     

‐Theory for Schrödinger systems

In this article, we study for the ‐realization of the vector‐valued Schrödinger operator . Using a noncommutative version of the Dore–Venni theorem due to Monniaux and Prüss, we prove that the ‐realization of , defined on the intersection of the natural domains of the differential and multiplication operators which form , generates a strongly continuous contraction semigroup on . We also study additional properties of the semigroup such as extension to L¹, positivity, ultracontractivity and prove that the generator has compact resolvent.     

Embedding hypertrees into steiner triple systems

In this paper, we are interested in the following question: given an arbitrary Steiner triple system on vertices and any 3‐uniform hypertree on vertices, is it necessary that contains as a subgraph provided ? We show the answer is positive for a class of hypertrees and conjecture that the answer is always positive.
