An integrated fully differential ultra-wideband CMOS RF front-end for 6-9 GHz is presented.A resistive feedback low noise amplifier and a gain controllable IQ merged folded quadrature mixer are integrated as the RF front-end. Efficient simulation of gas–liquid pipe flows using a generalized population balance equation coupled with the algebraic slip model

The inhomogeneous generalized population balance equation, which is discretized with the direct quadrature method of moment (DQMOM), is solved to predict the bubble size distribution (BSD) in a vertical pipe flow. The proposed model is compared with a more classical approach where bubbles are characterized with a constant mean size. The turbulent two-phase flow field, which is modeled using a Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes equation approach, is assumed to be in local equilibrium, thus the relative gas and liquid (slip) velocities can be calculated with the algebraic slip model, thereby accounting for the drag, lift, and lubrication forces. The complex relationship between the bubble size distribution and the resulting forces is described accurately by the DQMOM. Each quadrature node and weight represents a class of bubbles with characteristic size and number density, which change dynamically in time and space to preserve the first moments of the BSD. The predictions obtained are validated against previously published experimental data, thereby demonstrating the advantages of this approach for large-scale systems as well as suggesting future extensions to long piping systems and more complex geometries.     

Robust spectral method for numerical valuation of european options under Merton's jump‐diffusion model

We propose a novel numerical method based on rational spectral collocation and Clenshaw–Curtis quadrature methods together with the “” transformation for pricing European vanilla and butterfly spread options under Merton's jump‐diffusion model. Under certain assumptions, such model leads to a partial integro‐differential equation (PIDE). The differential and integral parts of the PIDE are approximated by the rational spectral collocation and the Clenshaw–Curtis quadrature methods, respectively. The application of spectral collocation method to the PIDE leads to a system of ordinary differential equations, which is solved using the implicit–explicit predictor–corrector (IMEX‐PC) schemes in which the diffusion term is integrated implicitly, whereas the convolution integral, reaction, advection terms are integrated explicitly. Numerical experiments illustrate that our approach is highly accurate and efficient for pricing financial options.Copyright © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Schur‐convexity and quadrature formulae

This paper aims to contribute to the exploration of quadrature formulae by proving that the error of a quadrature formula has the Schur‐convexity property. The emphasis is on the quadrature formulae with the maximum degree of precision. The Schur‐convexity of the error has an interesting implication – the monotonicity of the error. Namely, it turns out that the absolute value of the error is always smaller on a smaller interval (of the two which share the same midpoint).     

Uniqueness of Gaussian quadrature formula for computed tomography

This note answers positively a question raised by B. Bojanov and G. Petrova. Namely, the Gaussian quadrature formula for computed tomography among the given type is unique.     

一种宽带数字化雷达正交解调接收机的设计与实现

描述了一种高效的雷达宽带正交接收机的全数字设计方法,给出了设计条件。并基于FPGA采用此方法实现了八路雷达信号实时正交解调接收的设计。最后对系统性能进行了测试,并与软件解调结果进行了对比,验证了设计的正确性。     

Effect of numerical integration in the DGFEM for nonlinear convection‐diffusion problems

This paper is concerned with the effect of numerical integration applied to the discontinuous Galerkin finite element discretization of nonlinear convection‐diffusion problems in 2D. In the space semidiscretization the volume and line integrals are evaluated by numerical quadratures. Our goal is to estimate the error caused by the numerical integration and to show what numerical quadratures guarantee that the accuracy of the method with exact integration is preserved. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
