In this paper, we state and prove a new formula expressing explicitly the derivatives of shifted Chebyshev polynomials of any degree and for any fractional-order in terms of shifted Chebyshev polynomials themselves. We develop also a direct solution technique for solving the linear multi-order fractional differential equations (FDEs) with constant coefficients using a spectral tau method. The spatial approximation with its fractional-order derivatives (described in the Caputo sense) are based on shifted Chebyshev polynomials TL,n(x) with x ∈ (0, L), L > 0 and n is the polynomial degree. We presented a shifted Chebyshev collocation method with shifted Chebyshev–Gauss points used as collocation nodes for solving nonlinear multi-order fractional initial value problems. Several numerical examples are considered aiming to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed techniques and to compare with the existing results.  相似文献

The hydrocarbon plus fractions that comprise a significant portion of naturally occurring hydrocarbon fluids create major problems when determining the thermodynamic properties and the volumetric behavior of these fluids by equations of state. These problems arise due to the difficulty of properly characterizing the plus fractions (heavy ends). Proper characterization of the heavier components is important when cubic equations of state and/or solid formation thermodynamic models are used to describe complex phase behavior of reservoir fluids. The effect of heavy fractions characterization on thermodynamic modeling of wax precipitation has been investigated using different models including Won, Pan and proposed models. In order to characterize the plus fraction (heavier part) as a series of pseudocomponents, a probability model that expresses the mole fraction as a continuous function of the molecular weight has been used. The study has been conducted using several mixtures. Two different SCN (single carbon number), C7+C7+ and C10+C10+ were chosen. The Chosen SCN were distributed to multi-components of five, six, and/or ten using continuous function and Gaussian quadrature method. The results showed that the fractioning is required to be able to predict wax precipitation. Distribution of C10+C10+ using a proper distribution function has shown improvement in predictions of WAT and the amount of wax deposited in comparison with the characterization of C7+C7+ using semi-continuous approach. In predicting of WAT and the amount of wax build up the developed model showed superiority over the others.  相似文献

The L-curve is a popular aid for determining a suitable value of the regularization parameter when solving ill-conditioned linear systems of equations with a right-hand side vector, which is contaminated by errors of unknown size. However, for large problems, the computation of the L-curve can be quite expensive, because the determination of a point on the L-curve requires that both the norm of the regularized approximate solution and the norm of the corresponding residual vector be available. Recently, an approximation of the L-curve, referred to as the L-ribbon, was introduced to address this difficulty. The present paper discusses how to organize the computation of the L-ribbon when the matrix of the linear system of equations has many more columns than rows. Numerical examples include an application to computerized tomography.  相似文献

The $z$-transform is introduced to analyze a full discretization method for a partial integro-differential equation (PIDE) with a weakly singular kernel. In this method, spectral collocation is used for the spatial discretization, and, for the time stepping, the finite difference method combined with the convolution quadrature rule is considered. The global stability and convergence properties of complete discretization are derived and numerical experiments are reported.  相似文献

A matricial computation of quadrature formulas for orthogonal rational functions on the unit circle, is presented in this paper. The nodes of these quadrature formulas are the zeros of the para-orthogonal rational functions with poles in the exterior of the unit circle and the weights are given by the corresponding Christoffel numbers. We show how these nodes can be obtained as the eigenvalues of the operator Möbius transformations of Hessenberg matrices and also as the eigenvalues of the operator Möbius transformations of five-diagonal matrices, recently obtained. We illustrate the preceding results with some numerical examples.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to present two different approachs in order to obtain an existence result to the so-called quadrature surface free boundary problem. The first one requires the shape derivative calculus while the second one depends strongly on the compatibility condition of the Neumann problem.
