Meissner Anisotropy in Deuterated (TMTSF)2Clo4

Both the Meissner-signal (flux expulsion on cooling through T_c) and the shielding signal (obtained by turning on a field in the superconducting state) have been observed in deuterated single crystals for fields oriented both along and normal to the chain axis. A possible isotope effect on T_c is discussed. We find complete diamagnetism in normal fields and incomplete (～ 40 %) diamagnetism in parallel fields. A dramatic drop of the Meissner-effect in parallel fields well below H_c1 is observed and not yet well explained.     

Designing a plano-convex aspheric lens for fiber optics collimator

A plano-convex aspheric lens is designed to collimate the emitted light of the fiber optics. In this paper even orders of general aspheres are used to describe the aspheric surfaces sag. To determine the aspheric coefficient, the even asphere polynomial are fitted on the computed sag data. The surface sag data is determined using genetic algorithm method. The surface sag was analyzed by the commercial optical software package ZEMAX. For typical fiber optics, the numerical aperture (NA) of 0.22 was assumed. With this specification, the expected output spot diagram of 20 mm and the maximum aperture of 25.4 mm have been obtained. A comparison between here presented lens and the similar type of conventional lens has been carried out; the proposed aspheric lens corrected the spherical aberration, which led to increase in the collimated distance.     

Low voltage bipolar resistive switching in self-assembled PVDF nanodot network in capacitor like structures on Au/Cr/Si with Hg as a top electrode

In this letter, resistive switching phenomena in self-assembled nanodot network of Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) polymer in a capacitor geometry of Hg/PVDF/Au/Cr/Si is investigated. A stable & bipolar resistive switching with a set voltage ranging from 0.35 V to 0.9 V & reset voltage with a range of −0.08 V to −0.25 V is detected. A practical resistance ratio between HRS and LRS of 10–25 may have great potential in organic memories. Possible mechanism for the bipolar switching is discussed with the filament type conduction mechanism. Furthermore, the low voltage switching is elucidated with the high current density associated filament formation and it is explicated using the parallel resistor model.     

一种不同地面分辨率图像的拼接算法

航空遥感监测中变焦镜头的广泛应用以及飞行高度的变化会获得不同地面分辨率的航空影像,因此为了实时监控到飞行区域的整体情况,需要对不同地面分辨率的图像进行拼接。提出了针对不同地面分辨率图像进行拼接的方法。首先用四分法对图像进行分割,检测变化倍率,选择配准策略;然后用基于加速鲁棒性特征(Speeded-Up Robust Features,SURF)的算法对相邻图像进行拼接。获得了焦距变化从高倍过渡到低倍,或从低倍过渡到高倍的拼接图像。通过航空变焦模拟影像的拼接实验和地面变焦影像的拼接实验表明,该方法能够对不同地面分辨率的图像进行拼接,且拼接结果均以高分辨率为基准。     

Z-scan analysis and ab initio studies of β-BaTeMo2O9 single crystal

The Z-scan measurements for the non-centrosymmetric optical crystals β-BaTeMo₂O₉ (BTMO) were performed. The corresponding experiments were carried out using the 5 ns pulses of the second harmonic of a nanosecond Nd:YAG laser at the 532 nm wavelength. It was shown that the studied crystals possess promising third-order optical susceptibilities, which allow to use the crystal as optical limiters. The comparison with other oxide materials is presented. To clarify the origin of the observed effect, the electronic and optical properties of BTMO were calculated using the density functional theory (DFT)-based method. The performed calculations of the electronic and optical properties revealed certain peculiar features that can be suitable for the nonlinear optical applications. The relation between the observed nonlinear optical features and the calculated band structure is emphasized. The values of the calculated band gap and refractive index for β-BaTeMo₂O₉ are also reported.     

Influence of the e-beam irradiation and photo-oxidation aging on the structure and properties of LDPE-OMMT nanocomposite films

In this paper two systems, polyethylene (LDPE) and polyethylene/commercial organo-modified montmorillonite (LDPE/OMMT) nanocomposite, were subjected to e-beam irradiation at different doses and both the molecular modifications and mechanical properties have been investigated through solubility, FT-IR, calorimetric and tensile tests. Moreover, in some of the irradiated systems photo-oxidation aging was performed and its effects were studied. The results show an enhancement with irradiation of the positive effect of the nano-filler loading, related to the increase of the mechanical properties, due to the increase of the nano-filler polymer interaction.Nevertheless calorimetric and FT-IR data indicate that the well known reduction of LDPE/OMMT nanocomposite resistance to photo-oxidation ageing, with respect to LDPE, is amplified by ionizing radiation.     

Stripping Analysis of Trace Metals at a Flow-Through Reticulated Vitreous Carbon Electrode after the Preconcentration by Supported Liquid Membrane Technique

Abstract

The performance of a flow-through mercury coated reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC) electrode in the potentiometric stripping analysis (PSA) of trace metals has been examined. A wall-jet glassy carbon cell was used for the comparative experiments. Experimental parameters influencing the stripping signals have been optimised in order to use the stripping analysis after the preconcentration and matrix isolation by supported liquid membrane (SLM) technique. The SLM with di-2-ethylhexyl-phosphoric acid (DEHPA) as the extractant in the membrane liquid for proton driven transport of trace metals across the membrane has been chosen. Results presented for lead determination in river water demonstrate the analytical advantages of coupled technique SLM-PSA.     

The inverse phase sequence SmA-SmC in symmetric dimeric liquid crystals

Seven homologous symmetric dimeric liquid crystals are presented where two three-ring mesogenic units are connected by a bis(carbonyloxy)alkylene spacer. For homologues with terminal heptyloxy, octyloxy and nonyloxy chains, the unusual phase sequence SmA-SmC with increasing temperature was detected by the study of the optical textures and by X-ray diffraction measurements. This unusual behaviour is discussed on the basis of the molecular structure of these compounds.
