Hybrid titania/ormosil waveguide films have been prepared by sol-gel method at low thermal treatment temperature of 150℃. The influence of processing parameters including the molar ratios of Ti(OBu)_{4}/glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GLYMO) and H_{2}O/Ti(OBu)_{4} (expressed as R), especially aging of sol, on the refractive index and thickness of film was investigated. The optical properties of films were measured with Scanning Electron Microscope and m-line spectroscopy. The results indicate that the film thickness increases with the aging time of sol, but the variation of refractive index as a function of aging time of sol depends on the relative ratio of GLYMO to Ti-alkoxide. The relation between film thickness and corresponding sol viscosity is linear as the volume of GLYMO is 80% within the range of measured data. 相似文献

Magic tee is a widely used component in microwave systems; the four arms of conventional magic tee direct at four different directions, which give inconveniences to the assemblage of a system. In this paper, a broad-wall slot directional coupler and an E-plane dielectric loaded waveguide phase shifter is used to form a magic tee with four arms in the same E-plane. The magic tee is analyzed exactly with mode match method; and the simulated annealing method is used to optimize the performance of the magic tee. A multilayer sol-gel process has been developed in order to make highly doped rare-earth planar waveguides on silica or silicon substrates.Starting with a small range of constituents, such as SiO2, TiO2, P2O5 and Al2O3, we show that a large variety of gel compositions, with different spectroscopic behaviour, can be made when doped with rare-earths.We have doped the sol-gel films with neodymium and we have optimized their compositions by measuring the neodymium fluorescence lifetime. For a composition with 10 atom% of phosphorous, the lifetime evolution with neodymium concentration was studied and a quenching concentration was found at 1% of neodymium. We have also shown the strong influence of phosphorous or aluminium in the sol composition on the fluorescence lifetime, for a given neodymium concentration. First results on similar planar waveguides, doped with erbium, are also presented.The stability of the fluorescence lifetime over a long period of time is an other important point to be checked for these new materials: the lifetime evolution over a 9 months measurement period is presented. 相似文献

A new-type flat-field arrayed waveguide grating (AWG), with the focal signals of all wavelengths of operation focusing along a straight line, has been designed. The work bases on the aberration theory of AWG, in which the restraints imposed on the conventional Rowland-type AWG have been released. In the design of flat-field AWG, three stigmatic points restrain three dominant geometry parameters: geometry of star couplers, ports distribution of phased-array, and length increment between adjacent paths. An eight-channel 200-GHz spacing flat-field AWG has been designed and simulated. As stigmatic points introduced, the aberration of this device is much lower than that of the Rowland-type AWG. 相似文献
