We quantitatively modeled the volume phase transition of a hydrogel containing a crystalline colloidal array with a crown
ether ligand which binds Pb2+. The hydrogel volume response and the wavelength diffracted depend on the Pb2+ concentration and on both the ionic strength and the valence of the nonbinding ionic species. We successfully modeled the
response of this hydrogel Pb2+ sensor to ionic strength and the cation valence of the added salts.

A rapid and inexpensive method for simultaneous quantification of terbumeton (TER), and its major potential metabolites (TED;
terbumeton-desethyl, TOH; terbumeton-2-hydroxy and TID; terbumeton-deisopropyl) in soil bulk water (SBW) samples is proposed.
The analytical method involves extraction–concentration from SBW samples using a graphitized carbon black (GCB) cartridge
followed by their separation–detection by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography analysis using a C18 column and a diode array detector. A mobile phase of acetonitrile−0.005 mol L−1 phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) (35:65, v/v) at a flow rate of 0.8 mL min−1 in isocratic elution mode has been used. After optimization of the extraction and separation conditions, this method can be
used for the simultaneous determination of investigated compounds in the range of the international limits of 0.1 μg L−1. For TER the detection limit was 0.009 μg L−1 and it was 0.100, 0.550, and 0.480 μg L−1 for TED, TOH, and TID, respectively. The recoveries of TER, TED, TOH, and TID from SBW samples, measured at three levels of
concentration range, were found to be between 48.0 and 102.0%. The intra-day precision measured by relative standard deviation

A microbead based sandwich immunoassay for MS2 bacteriophage was developed using an interdigitated array (IDA) electrode with nanoscale dimensions (220 nm electrode width, 620 nm gap). The IDA was fabricated using an electron beam lithographic lift‐off technique. After an antibody‐assisted capture of MS2 using paramagnetic microbeads, a β‐galactosidase labeled secondary antibody was used to convert p‐aminophenyl‐β‐D ‐galactopyranoside (PAPG) into the redox active p‐aminophenol (PAP). Amperometric detection of PAP with IDA electrodes at +300 and ?200 mV vs. a Ag/AgCl reference electrode was used to measure the result, detecting MS2 concentrations as low as 10 ng/mL. 相似文献

A novel design of the detection zone in multicapillary arrays used for electrophoretic separation is presented. The use of a detection gap (DG), in which the reflective surfaces separating the channels of the array are eliminated, is proposed to improve the illumination and detection of the separated DNA fragments. The electric field compression in the DG is achieved by optimization of the gap geometry. The results of the computer simulation and experiment demonstrate no substantial band-broadening in the DG. The inability of neurons to undergo mitosis renders damage to the central or peripheral nervous system. Neural stem cell therapy could provide a path for treating the neurodegenerative diseases. However, reliable and simple tools for the developing and testing neural stem cell therapy are still required. Here, we show the development of a micropillar‐based microfluidic device to trap the uniform‐sized neurospheres. The neurospheres trapped within micropillar arrays were largely differentiated into neuronal cells, and their neurite networks were observed in the microfluidic device. Compared to conventional cultures on glass slides, the neurite networks generated with this method have a higher reproducibility. Furthermore, we demonstrated the effect of thapsigargin on the neurite networks in the microfluidic device, demonstrating that neural networks exposed to thapsigargin were largely diminished and disconnected from each other. Therefore, this micropillar‐based microfluidic device could be a potential tool for screening of neurotoxins. 相似文献
