Hyperbolic spaces are of strictly negative type

We study finite metric spaces with elements picked from, and distances consistent with, ambient Riemannian manifolds. The concepts of negative type and strictly negative type are reviewed, and the conjecture that hyperbolic spaces are of strictly negative type is settled, in the affirmative. The technique of the proof is subsequently applied to show that every compact manifold of negative type must have trivial fundamental group, and to obtain a necessary criterion for product manifolds to be of negative type.

     

Sums of Two Exact Powers

An asymptotic formula is obtained for the number of representations of an element of a finite field as a weighted sum of two prescribed powers of primitive elements. This generalises previous work on sums of primitive elements, including that relating to some conjectures of Golomb.     

非AWGN环境下调制类型自动识别

在非AWGN环境下，针对CW，AM，FM，OOK，PSK，QPSK，16QAM，FSK，MSK，SSB十种混合调制信号，对调制类型特征提取方法和自动识别算法进行了分析、综合、设计和计算机仿真。提出了梯层电平分析方法、频率瞬时信号分析、剔除载波的归一化能量分析、平方后信号的频谱分析、四次方后的信号频谱分析等方法。当SNR=10dB时，计算机仿真结果是正确识别率不低于95％，自动识别的平均处理时间为不超过10s。     

铸膜液溶剂体系的物理参数与BCA不对称膜的透气性

铸膜液的溶剂体系（溶剂和非溶剂）对不对称膜形态的形成有重要作用。为了探索溶剂和透气性间的关系，本文考虑到了制备ＢＣＡ梯度密度不对称膜的各种溶剂的一系列物理参数，得到了一些定性结果，并指出了更全面、明确、解释两者关系的研究方向。     

开关结构对a-SiTFT-LCD光学特性的影响

分析非晶硅薄膜晶体管在a-SiTFT-LCD中的开关特性，讨论这种开关结构中的主要功能膜材料尺寸与性能参量、光刻制备工艺，存储电容以及栅脉冲延迟效应等对a-SiTFT-LCD的通断电流比，信号响应与保持特性，图像亮度与对比度等光学特性的影响。     

Permeability,permselectivity, and penetrant‐induced plasticization in fluorinated polyimides studied by positron lifetime measurements

The ortho‐positronium (o‐Ps) lifetime τ₃ and its intensity I₃ in various fluorinated polyimides were determined by the positron annihilation technique and were studied with the spin–lattice relaxation time T₁ and the propylene permeability, solubility, diffusivity, and permselectivity for propylene/propane in them. τ₃, I₃, and the distribution of τ₃ changed when the bulky moieties in the polyimides were changed. The polyimides, having both large τ₃ and I₃ values, exhibited a short T₁ and a high permeability with a low permselectivity. The propylene permeability and diffusivity were exponentially correlated with the product of I₃ and the average free‐volume hole size estimated from τ₃. In highly plasticized states induced by the sorption of propylene, the permeability increased with the propylene pressure in excellent agreement with the change in the free‐volume hole properties probed by o‐Ps. The large and broad distribution of the free‐volume holes and increased local chain mobility for the 2,2‐bis(3,4‐decarboxyphenyl) hexafluoropropane dianhydride‐based polyimides are thought to be important physical properties for promoting penetrant‐induced plasticization. These results suggest that o‐Ps is a powerful probe of not only the free‐volume holes but also the corresponding permeation mechanism and penetrant‐induced plasticization phenomenon. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method for the coupled system of fluid dynamics in porous media and its analysis

For the coupled system of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media, the modified characteristic finite difference fractional steps method applicable to parallel arithmetic is put forward and two‐dimensional and three‐dimensional schemes are used to form a complete set. Some techniques, such as calculus of variations, energy method, piecewise biquadratic interpolation, multiplicative commutation rule of difference operators, decomposition of high order difference operators and prior estimates are adopted. Optimal order estimates in L² norm are derived to determine the error in the approximate solution. This method has already been applied to the numerical simulation of multilayer fluid dynamics in porous media. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. MIM隧道结的电子输运特性和发光研究

论述作为一种新型发光器件的ＭＩＭ隧道结的发光机理，报告了该器件的发光现象和Ｉ－Ｖ特性曲线中负阻现象的实验观察。数据显示，结中表面等离极化激元（ＳＰＰ）与粗糙度的耦合是引起光发射的主要方面，ＳＰＰ对隧穿电子的阻塞作用导致了电子输运中的负阻现象。此外，还观察到了直接辐射的紫外峰。     

On the Buchstaber Subring in MS p

A formula is given to calculate the last n number of symplectic characteristic classes of the tensor product of the vector Spin(3)- and Sp(n)-bundles through its first 2n number of characteristic classes and through characteristic classes of Sp(n)-bundle. An application of this formula is given in symplectic cobordisms and in rings of symplectic cobordisms of generalized quaternion groups.
