随着网络技术、通信技术以及视频点插技术的发展与成熟，数字图像远程集中监控系统将是继Internet之后的亲一轮信息高速公路的应用主流。本主要介绍了数字图像远程集中监控系统的组成、工作原理以及应用前景。     

A general model for cyclic machine scheduling problems

A general framework for modeling and solving cyclic scheduling problems is presented. The objective is to minimize the cycle time. The model covers different cyclic versions of the job-shop problem found in the literature, robotic cell problems, the single hoist scheduling problem and tool transportation between the machines.It is shown that all these problems can be formulated as mixed integer linear programs which have a common structure. Small instances are solved with CPLEX. For larger instances tabu search procedures have been developed. The main ideas of these methods are indicated.     

Evaluation of the quality of clinical laboratories in the Slovak Republic: conceptual and contextual remarks

The paper demonstrates conceptual parallels and relationships between intellectual capital measurement methods and the evaluation of quality in clinical laboratories in the Slovak Republic. It explores further the contextual links of those parallels with the tangibility (or intangibility) of quality indicators of laboratory diagnostics. It also highlights the problems which laboratory staff in Slovakia are confronted with. Presented at the conference Quality in the Spotlight, March 2007, Antwerp, Belgium.     

Improving the efficiency of DC global optimization methods by improving the DC representation of the objective function

There are infinitely many ways of representing a d.c. function as a difference of convex functions. In this paper we analyze how the computational efficiency of a d.c.optimization algorithm depends on the representation we choose for the objective function, and we address the problem of characterizing and obtaining a computationally optimal representation. We introduce some theoretical concepts which are necessary for this analysis and report some numerical experiments.

Channel width dependence of hot electron injection program/hot hole erase cycling behavior in silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) memories

The channel width dependence of hot electron injection program/hot hole erase cycling behavior in silicon-oxide-nitride-oxide-silicon (SONOS) memories is investigated. While the trapped charge profile-dependent overerasure is observed in 10-μm-wide device, it is suppressed in 0.22-μm-wide device. Both the overerasure suppression and gradual positive threshold voltage shift in narrow device are explained as an elevated hot hole injection efficiency followed by more pronounced redistribution of the hole profile in the channel-center and the suppression of the lateral migration of injected holes in the channel-edge, by combining the measured endurance characteristics and TCAD simulation results. Main physical mechanisms are three-dimensional distribution of the electric field by gate/drain voltage, increasing interface states, and their trapped charge with cycling in the channel-edge.     

Uniform LP duality for semidefinite and semi-infinite programming

Recently, a semidefinite and semi-infinite linear programming problem (SDSIP), its dual (DSDSIP), and uniform LP duality between (SDSIP) and (DSDSIP) were proposed and studied by Li et al. (Optimization 52:507–528, 2003). In this paper, we show that (SDSIP) is an ordinary linear semi-infinite program and, therefore, all the existing results regarding duality and uniform LP duality for linear semi-infinite programs can be applied to (SDSIP). By this approach, the main results of Li et al. (Optimization 52:507–528, 2003) can be obtained easily.     

An Accurate Characterization of CRT Monitor (I) Verifications of Past Studies and Clarifications of Gamma

CRT monitors are widely used to view images on the Internet. The color images on the computer graphic display can be printed out or displayed on other monitors through the Internet, and color matching between the original and the reproduction is very important. The color management systems (CMSs) are useful for the color matching. CMSs utilize device profiles, in which color characteristic information is stored, and these profiles are generated by device characterization. Thus, an accurate characterization of the monitor is essential for better color matching. CRT monitor characteristics can be described by the tone reproduction curves (TRCs) of each channel, and color additive matrix. In this paper, these characteristics were investigated from a physical point of view. Various kinds of flare and the interdependence among the channels were also investigated and verified. The definition of the term “gamma” is clarified, which is very often used to describe the TRC. Various definitions are compared and a new definition of S-γ is proposed.     

Sample average approximation of expected value constrained stochastic programs

We propose a sample average approximation (SAA) method for stochastic programming problems with expected value constraints. Such problems arise, for example, in portfolio selection with constraints on conditional value-at-risk (CVaR). We provide a convergence analysis and a statistical validation scheme for the proposed method.     

A note on the MIR closure

In 1988, Nemhauser and Wolsey introduced the concept of MIR inequality for mixed integer linear programs. In 1998, Wolsey gave another definition of MIR inequalities. This note points out that the natural concepts of MIR closures derived from these two definitions are distinct. Dash, Günlük and Lodi made the same observation independently.
