A rapid peptide-bond hydrolysis by means of microwave irradiation is introduced for the facile preparation of protein hydrolysates used for amino acid analysis. The optimal hydrolysis condition has been determined using several enzymes with known amino acid compositions. The effects of hydrolysis time on the recovery of various labile and hydrophobic amino acids are also exemplified in the microwave heating of standard amino acids. The method has been applied to the complete amino acid analysis with a single nonvolatile solvent of methanesulfonic acid with good recovery of tryptophan and half-cystine. It provides a radical expedition of protein and peptide hydrolysis via commercial microwave ovens and specially-designed Teflon-Pyrex tubes, circumventing the tedious procedures using vacuum-sealed pyrex lubes heating at 110°C for more than 24 h. This novel type of microwave chemistry associated with rapid peptide-bond cleavage is of great potential in the automation of the complete process of amino acid analysis starting from the preparation of protein hydrolysates. 相似文献

Herein, the pivotal role of secondary nucleation in a crystallization-enhanced deracemization process is reported. During this process, complete and rapid deracemization of chiral conglomerate crystals of an isoindolinone is attained through fast microwave-assisted temperature cycling. A parametric study of the main factors that affect the occurrence of secondary nucleation in this process, namely agitation rate, suspension density, and solute supersaturation, confirms that an enhanced stereoselective secondary nucleation rate maximizes the deracemization rate. Analysis of the system during a single temperature cycle showed that, although stereoselective particle production during the crystallization stage leads to enantiomeric enrichment, undesired kinetic dissolution of smaller particles of the preferred enantiomer occurs during the dissolution step. Therefore, secondary nucleation is crucial for the enhancement of deracemization through temperature cycles and as such should be considered in further design and optimization of this process, as well as in other temperature cycling processes commonly applied in particle engineering. 相似文献

We demonstrate a thermo-optic switch based on photonic liquid crystal fibres (PLCFs) in which two lines of air hole are selective filled with liquid crystal (LC), with a high extinction ratio of more than 20 dB around 1310 nm and 1550 nm. Only in the range of 2.0°C it can perform a turn off and on operation of transmitted light in the second telecom band around 1550 nm while the first telecom bands around 1310 nm is still on. Due to the splitting of the bandgap, the switching function is achieved in this kind of PLCFs. Before the cleaning point (CP) of LC, a broad bandgap from about 1120 nm to 1320 nm splits into two ones, which are continuing inducing huge bandgap extension to shorter wavelength and longer wavelength after the CP of LC, respectively. Moreover, the temperature responses around the CP of LC is also investigated. Its sensitivity is about ?92.32 nm/°C around the CP of LC. Therefore, such kind of selective-filled PLCFs could find potential applications as thermo-optic switch and temperature sensor in the telecom band. 相似文献

The light leakage in a black state of in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD) associated with rubbing process has been investigated. The mechanical rubbing process with a cloth caused orientation disorders in the liquid crystal directors and these partial orientation disorders result in residual retardations of the IPS LCD, causing the light leakages at the black state. In this study, we theoretically estimated how the light leakage is associated with the rubbing uniformity using 2 × 2 Jones matrix equation and also experimentally confirmed how it is associated with structural properties of the alignment layer. The light leakage was clearly reduced in the alignment layer with reduced crystallinity and flexibility. 相似文献

Four multicomponent room temperature mixtures were formulated using a pyrimidine-based achiral matrix as host and four terphenyl-based ester chiral compounds as dopants. Among the four mixtures, two exhibit antiferroelectric and two other exhibit ferroelectric phases at room temperature. Dopant molecules differ from each other by position and number of fluorine atom substitution at the benzoate group of the molecular rigid core. Number and location of fluorine atoms in the dopant structure show significant effect on the phase sequences as well as on different physical properties. All the mixtures found to have moderate spontaneous polarisation, high tilt angle, very fast switching time and low viscosity which are important for liquid crystal-based display applications. 相似文献

Perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have revolutionized optoelectronic devices because of their versatile optical properties. However, controlling and extending these functionalities often requires a light‐management strategy involving additional processing steps. Herein, we introduce a simple approach to shape perovskite nanocrystals (NC) into photonic architectures that provide light management by directly shaping the active material. Pre‐patterned polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) templates are used for the template‐induced self‐assembly of 10 nm CsPbBr3 perovskite NC colloids into large area (1 cm2) 2D photonic crystals with tunable lattice spacing, ranging from 400 nm up to several microns. The photonic crystal arrangement facilitates efficient light coupling to the nanocrystal layer, thereby increasing the electric field intensity within the perovskite film. As a result, CsPbBr3 2D photonic crystals show amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) under lower optical excitation fluences in the near‐IR, in contrast to equivalent flat NC films prepared using the same colloidal ink. This improvement is attributed to the enhanced multi‐photon absorption caused by light trapping in the photonic crystal. 相似文献

1,4‐Diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (dabco) and its derivatives have been extensively utilized as building units of excellent molecular ferroelectrics for decades. However, the homochiral dabco‐based ferroelectric remains a blank. Herein, by adding a methyl (Me) group accompanied by the introduction of homochirality to the [H2dabco]2+ in the non‐ferroelectric [H2dabco][TFSA]2 (TFSA=bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)ammonium), we successfully designed enantiomeric ferroelectrics [R and S‐2‐Me‐H2dabco][TFSA]2. The two enantiomers show two sequential phase transitions with transition temperature (Tc) as high as 405.8 K and 415.8 K, which is outstanding in both dabco‐based ferroelectrics and homochiral ferroelectrics. To our knowledge, [R and S‐2‐Me‐H2dabco][TFSA]2 are the first examples of dabco‐based homochiral ferroelectrics. This finding opens an avenue to construct dabco‐based homochiral ferroelectrics and will inspire the exploration of more eminent enantiomeric molecular ferroelectrics. 相似文献
