Given a complex matrix , we consider the decomposition , where is upper triangular and and have orthonormal columns. Special instances of this decomposition include the singular value decomposition (SVD) and the Schur decomposition where is an upper triangular matrix with the eigenvalues of on the diagonal. We show that any diagonal for can be achieved that satisfies Weyl's multiplicative majorization conditions:

where is the rank of , is the -th largest singular value of , and is the -th largest (in magnitude) diagonal element of . Given a vector which satisfies Weyl's conditions, we call the decomposition , where is upper triangular with prescribed diagonal , the generalized triangular decomposition (GTD). A direct (nonrecursive) algorithm is developed for computing the GTD. This algorithm starts with the SVD and applies a series of permutations and Givens rotations to obtain the GTD. The numerical stability of the GTD update step is established. The GTD can be used to optimize the power utilization of a communication channel, while taking into account quality of service requirements for subchannels. Another application of the GTD is to inverse eigenvalue problems where the goal is to construct matrices with prescribed eigenvalues and singular values.

Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) sampling scheme which is motivated by applications in multi-channel deconvolution and multi-source separation has been investigated in many aspects. Common for most of results on MIMO systems is that the input signals are supposed to be band-limited. In this paper, we study vector sampling expansions on general finitely generated shift-invariant subspaces. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a vector sampling theorem to hold are given. We also give several examples to illustrate the main result.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the sum rate performance of multiuser multi-antenna downlink channel. We consider Rayleigh fading environment when regularized vector perturbation precoding (R-VPP) method is used at the transmitter. We derive expressions for the sum rate in terms of the variance of the received signal. We also provide a closed form approximation for the mean squared error (MSE) which is shown to work well for the whole range of SNR. Further, we also propose a simpler expression for R-VPP sum rate based on MSE. The simulation results show that the proposed expressions for R-VPP sum rate closely match the sum rate found by the entropy estimation. Our results show that when compared with other linear and non-linear precoding methods (like zero-forcing precoder, linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) precoder and VPP), R-VPP sum rate performance is very close to DPC for all SNR values. It is also noted that the sum rate performance of the linear MMSE precoder is very close to the R-VPP at low to medium SNR range. Finally we also compared the merits of performing regularization for VPP as compared to the greedy rate maximizing user scheduling. It turns out that the R-VPP with or without user selection performs better than the VPP systems with user selection.  相似文献

文章简要叙述了有关大质量恒星形成的理论以及相关观测证据。目前大质量恒星形成的理论主要有两种,即吸积说和并合说.吸积说认为,大质量星可能与小质量星形成于相似的过程;并合说主张大质量星可能是由小质量年轻星碰撞合并而成.解决这两种理论争论的关键在于在大质量星附近能否观测到吸积盘的存在,最新的观测表明大质量星更有可能是通过吸积增加自身的质量,但最终解决这一问题可能还需要更多的观测证据。文章还提出了一些本领域尚未解决的问题,为感兴趣的研究者提供参考。  相似文献

In 2010, the MoEDAL (MOnopole and Exotics Detector at the LHC) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) was unanimously approved by European Centre for Nuclear Research’s Research Board to start data taking in 2015. MoEDAL is a pioneering experiment designed to search for highly ionising manifestations of new physics such as magnetic monopoles or massive (pseudo-)stable charged particles. Its groundbreaking physics programme defines a number of scenarios that yield potentially revolutionary insights into such foundational questions as: are there extra dimensions or new symmetries; does magnetic charge exist; what is the nature of dark matter; and, how did the Big Bang develop. MoEDAL’s purpose is to meet such far-reaching challenges at the frontier of the field. The innovative MoEDAL detector employs unconventional methodologies tuned to the prospect of discovery physics. The largely passive MoEDAL detector, deployed at Point 8 on the LHC ring, has a dual nature. First, it acts like a giant camera, comprised of nuclear track detectors – analysed offline by ultra fast scanning microscopes – sensitive only to new physics. Second, it is uniquely able to trap the particle messengers of physics beyond the Standard Model for further study. MoEDAL’s radiation environment is monitored by a state-of-the-art real-time TimePix pixel detector array. A new MoEDAL sub-detector designed to extend MoEDAL reach to mini-charged, minimally ionising particles is under study.  相似文献

The exact metric of a Schwarzschild black hole in the true radiation gauge was recently reported.In this work, we base on this gravity and calculate the gravitational deflection of relativistic massive particles up to the fourth post-Minkowskian order. It is found that the result is consistent with the previous formulations for both the case of dropping the fourth-order contribution and the case of light deflection. Our result might be helpful for future high-accuracy observations.  相似文献

This paper considers the problem of robust output-tracking controlfor multi-input multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear systems in thepresence of mismatched time-dependent uncertainties. It firstgeneralizes the stable combined-variable perturbation method(SCVPM) which was proposed by Li et al. (1996) to derive a newrobust controller and its adaptive version for MIMO systemsto track a desired trajectory. It is shown that both controllersnot only stabilize the closed-loop systems but also guaranteethat the tracking errors remain in an O() neighbourhood of theorgin, where is a small design parameter of the controller.Moreover, the adaptive robust controller is only based on thenominal system, and no a priori data on the uncertainties areneeded. The upcoming Third‐Generation Partnership Project—Long‐Term Evolution (3GPP‐LTE) cellular standard will employ spatial multiplexing to significantly increase the data rates. Detection of the spatially multiplexed signals is an essential issue in the design of an LTE receiver. In this paper, we evaluate the performance–complexity tradeoffs for a set of low‐complexity multiple input multiple output (MIMO) detection algorithms in a realistic LTE downlink system. Specifically, antenna correlation and channel estimation errors have been considered for a practical MIMO‐LTE receiver. An LTE downlink model has been implemented in order to evaluate three types of detectors: linear, unsorted successive interference cancellation (SIC), and ordered SIC. Our simulation results show that the unsorted SIC detectors present a very poor performance–complexity tradeoff. Besides, linear detectors are shown to be the best candidates as the performance improvement for the ordered SIC detectors is not significant in a realistic scenario.
