The existence of solutions y to a linear differential or difference system whose components $y_{i_1 } ,...,y_{i_m } $ belong to a given class of functions and the problem of constructing such components are considered.

Nontrivial solutions for Neumann problems with an indefinite linear part

In this paper, we consider a semilinear Neumann problem with an indefinite linear part and a Carathéodory nonlinearity which is superlinear near infinity and near zero, but does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition. Using an abstract existence theorem for C¹-functions having a local linking at the origin, we establish the existence of at least one nontrivial smooth solution.     

Estimating the efficient price from the order flow: A Brownian Cox process approach

At the ultra high frequency level, the notion of price of an asset is very ambiguous. Indeed, many different prices can be defined (last traded price, best bid price, mid price, etc.). Thus, in practice, market participants face the problem of choosing a price when implementing their strategies. In this work, we propose a notion of efficient price which seems relevant in practice. Furthermore, we provide a statistical methodology enabling to estimate this price from the order flow.     

Superlinear PCG Algorithms: Symmetric Part Preconditioning and Boundary Conditions

The superlinear convergence of the preconditioned CGM is studied for nonsymmetric elliptic problems (convection-diffusion equations) with mixed boundary conditions. A mesh independent rate of superlinear convergence is given when symmetric part preconditioning is applied to the FEM discretizations of the BVP. This is the extension of a similar result of the author for Dirichlet problems. The discussion relies on suitably developed Hilbert space theory for linear operators.     

On the imaginary parts of chromatic roots

While much attention has been directed to the maximum modulus and maximum real part of chromatic roots of graphs of order $n$ (ie, with $n$ vertices), relatively little is known about the maximum imaginary part of such graphs. We prove that the maximum imaginary part can grow linearly in the order of the graph. We also show that for any fixed $\text{◂+▸}p\in \left(0,1\right)$, almost every random graph $G$ in the Erdös-Rényi model has a nonreal root.     

A family of quantum projective spaces and related -hypergeometric orthogonal polynomials

A one-parameter family of two-sided coideals in is defined and the corresponding algebras of infinitesimally right invariant functions on the quantum unitary group are studied. The Plancherel decomposition of these algebras with respect to the natural transitive -action is shown to be the same as in the case of a complex projective space. By computing the radial part of a suitable Casimir operator, we identify the zonal spherical functions (i.e. infinitesimally bi-invariant matrix coefficients of finite-dimensional irreducible representations) as Askey-Wilson polynomials containing two continuous and one discrete parameter. In certain limit cases, the zonal spherical functions are expressed as big and little -Jacobi polynomials depending on one discrete parameter.

     

基于局部块模型的复杂场景行为识别算法

针对视觉词袋模型与局部块模型特征相结合的算法在真实的复杂场景中识别率不高的问题,本文提出一种基于局部块模型与特征预处理、特征泛化相结合的行为识别算法。本文算法在视觉词袋模型的基础上,采取局部块模型与随机采样相结合的方法提取特征,对特征做预处理,减小了数据冗余,消除了特征之间的相关性,并且使处理后的特征更接近原始视频特征,同时对编码后特征做泛化处理,避免过拟合现象。本文在HMDB51标准视频库上进行实验,结果表明本文算法较原算法识别率提高2.1%,较其他同类算法也有一定的提升,验证了该算法的有效性。本文算法对视频量大、背景复杂、真实场景的视频集具有较好的识别效果。

对任意正整数n≥2,Smarandache下素数列{pp(n))定义为小于或等于n的最大素数;而Smarandache上素数列{Pp(n))表示大于或等于n的最小素数.本文的主要目的是利用初等方法研究Smarandache素数列的性质,并得到由Smarandache素数列组成的行列式的一些性质.
