Asymptotic Distribution of Nodes for Near-Optimal Polynomial Interpolation on Certain Curves in R 2

Let E\subset \Bbb R ^s be compact and let d _n ^E denote the dimension of the space of polynomials of degree at most n in s variables restricted to E . We introduce the notion of an asymptotic interpolation measure (AIM). Such a measure, if it exists , describes the asymptotic behavior of any scheme τ _n ={ \bf x _k,n } _k=1 ^dnE , n=1,2,\ldots , of nodes for multivariate polynomial interpolation for which the norms of the corresponding interpolation operators do not grow geometrically large with n . We demonstrate the existence of AIMs for the finite union of compact subsets of certain algebraic curves in R ² . It turns out that the theory of logarithmic potentials with external fields plays a useful role in the investigation. Furthermore, for the sets mentioned above, we give a computationally simple construction for ``good' interpolation schemes. November 9, 2000. Date revised: August 4, 2001. 基于曲率的透视不变性分割

曲线的透视不变性分割在基于二次曲线的三维重建中非常重要。首先给出了连续曲线零曲率点和角点的提取法，在数字图像中曲经是不连续的，曲率的变化受噪声的干扰很大。在这种情况下为了检测出零曲率点和角点，对曲线采用了高斯滤波然后再提到零曲率点和角点。实验证明这种方法效果优于直接求曲率法。     

Cyclic reduction and FACR methods for piecewise hermite bicubic orthogonal spline collocation

Cyclic reduction and Fourier analysis-cyclic reduction (FACR) methods are presented for the solution of the linear systems which arise when orthogonal spline collocation with piecewise Hermite bicubics is applied to boundary value problems for certain separable partial differential equations on a rectangle. On anN×N uniform partition, the cyclic reduction and Fourier analysis-cyclic reduction methods requireO(N ²log₂ N) andO(N ²log₂log₂ N) arithmetic operations, respectively.     

On the theory of vapor — Liquid — Crystal phase transitions

An approach is discussed which allows one to describe within the framework of the single model the aggregative states of a system of atoms obeying the Fermi statistics. A phase diagram is obtained containing both the critical point where the distinctions between the liquid and vapor vanish and the triple point where the liquid, vapor, and crystal are in equilibrium.     

Change point estimation in non-monotonic aging models

The problem of estimating change points in various non-monotonic aging models is considered. A general methodology for consistent estimation of the change point is developed and applied to non-monotonic aging models based on the hazard rate function as well as on the mean residual life function.     

Lagrangian Duality in Set-Valued Optimization

In this paper, we study optimization problems where the objective function and the binding constraints are set-valued maps and the solutions are defined by means of set-relations among all the images sets (Kuroiwa, D. in Takahashi, W., Tanaka, T. (eds.) Nonlinear analysis and convex analysis, pp. 221–228, 1999). We introduce a new dual problem, establish some duality theorems and obtain a Lagrangian multiplier rule of nonlinear type under convexity assumptions. A necessary condition and a sufficient condition for the existence of saddle points are given. The authors thank the two referees for valuable comments and suggestions on early versions of the paper. 向量变分不等式的严格可行性问题

本篇文章首先定义了向量变分不等式的严格可行点概念,其次在假设了映射是强(D)-伪单调的情况下,证明了向量变分不等式解集非空有界与其严格可行点存在的等价性问题,推广了在数量变分不等式上得到的相应结果．     

Existence and multiplicity of solutions for a nonlinear Neumann problem

We consider a Neumann problem of the type -εΔu+F ^′(u(x))=0 in an open bounded subset Ω of R ⁿ , where F is a real function which has exactly k maximum points. Using Morse theory we find that, for ε suitably small, there are at least 2k nontrivial solutions of the problem and we give some qualitative information about them.
