A regularized Newton method for one-dimensional profile inversion of a lossy cylinder

A regularized Newton iterative method is presented for the determination of one-dimensional profile of an inhomogeneous circularly cylindrical region. The region is assumed to be filled with a lossy dielectric material of which electromagnetic parameters have an arbitrary variation in the radial direction. By using the finite Fourier transformation of field expressions, the problem is first reduced to a system of non-linear operator equations which can be solved through regularized Newton method. The method requires to solve the scattered field and the Fréchet derivatives in the inhomogeneous region in each iteration step. Numerical simulations are carried out to test the applicability and the effectiveness of the method.     

Electrochemical studies on poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) membranes prepared by phase inversion method

The copolymer membranes, poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP) were prepared by phase inversion method using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as an additive with acetone or dimethyl formamide as solvent. The morphology of the membranes has been greatly varied with the composition of the polymer and solvent. The ionic conductivity of the membranes were measured at various temperatures (−30 to 50 °C). The prepared membranes have been employed as separators in LiCoO₂/Li cells and were subjected to charge-discharge studies at 0.2 C - rate. The polymer membrane prepared with a ratio of PVdF-HFP (50):PEG (50) using dimethyl formamide as solvent delivered higher discharge capacity than the membranes prepared with acetone as solvent.

Simulation of the influence of the polymer conformation,orientation, crystallinity,and stretching on its IR absorption spectrum

Using cis-1,4-polyisoprene as an example, the influence of the conformation and orientation of the polymer chain on its polarization absorption spectra has been simulated. It has been shown that if a change in the orientation of the polymer chain leads to a monotonic change in the intensities of the absorption bands with their maxima positions remaining unchanged, then changes in the polymer chain conformation additionally cause a shift and the appearance of new absorption bands. According to the results of the calculation of the vibrational spectra, the inversion of the IR dichroism of the absorption bands of polymers is associated with the conformation transition. We simulate the influence on the IR absorption spectrum of the degree of crystallinity of cis-1,4-polyisoprene, in which the amorphous and amorphous-crystalline states are considered as a mixture of noninteracting polymer chains, where each state is characterized by a certain ratio of conformers. Abel inversion of axially-symmetric shock wave flows

Finite-fringe interferograms produced for axisymmetric shock wave flows are analyzed by Fourier transform fringe analysis and an Abel inversion method to produce density field data for the validation of numerical models. For the Abel inversion process, we use basis functions to model phase data from axially-symmetric shock wave structure. Steady and unsteady flow problems are studied, and compared with numerical simulations. Good agreement between theoretical and experimental results is obtained when one set of basis functions is used during the inversion process, but the shock front is smeared when another is used. 本文主要揭示了Gessel Ira.等给出的拉格朗日反演的q—模拟形式与An-drews G.E.的Bailey引理之间的相互转化的联系,做为例证,给出了利用这些关系得到的古典超几何级数(hypergeometric series)变换和求和公式的新证明,同时得到了模5、7、9、27四个新的Roger’s-Ramanujan类型的恒等式,其具有十分重要的组合意义。

This paper studies thenumber of rooted bisingular maps on the sphere and the torus, and also presents formulaefor such maps with three parameters: the root-valency, the number of isthmus, and thenumber of planar loops.
