As the higher and higher frequency bands of existing metallic cables in access networks are being continuously exploited by modern transmission technologies, such as the G.fast, the necessity of providing accurate and suitable modeling of their transmission characteristics is evident. Therefore, this paper is focused on modeling of a propagation constant of twisted pairs and metallic cables at high frequencies up to 250 MHz, and an innovative arsinh model is proposed and described. This new model is based on an idea of adopting inverse hyperbolic sine function for modeling of both secondary line coefficients, attenuation constant and phase constant, and its main motivation is to provide their accurate estimations for G.fast frequencies up to 250 MHz for various types of metallic cables while maintaining a low computational complexity. The proposed model was compared with numerous characteristics measured for various real metallic cables as well as with several existing models in order to illustrate its potential. The results, which are presented within this paper, clearly illustrate that the proposed arsinh model generally outperforms existing standard models based on the equal number of required parameters. During the electrospray ionization (ESI) process, ions move through a heated capillary aperture to be detected on arrival at a mass analyzer. However, the ESI process creates an ion plume, which expands into an ion cloud with an area larger than that of the heated capillary aperture, significantly contributing to an ion loss of 50% due to coulombic repulsion. The use of DC and RF fields to focus ions from the ion source into the vacuum chamber has been proposed in the literature, but the improvement of ion transmission efficiency is limited. To improve ion transmission, in this study we propose a novel method using a home-made golf ball positioned between the ion source and the inlet of the mass analyzer to hydrodynamically focus the ions passing through the golf ball. The ion plume produced by the ESI process passes through the golf ball will reduce the size of the ion cloud then be focused and most of them flowed into the mass analyzer. Therefore, the sensitivity will be improved, the aim of this investigation is to study the enhancing of the signal using golf ball-assisted electrospray ionization liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to determine 20 trace amino acids in complex samples, including tea, urine and serum. The results showed that the analytical performance of the determination of the 20 amino acids in tea, urine and serum samples using the home-made golf ball-assisted ESI source is better than that of a commercial ESI source. The signal intensities of the 20 amino acids were enhanced by factors of 2–2700, 11–2525, and 31–342680 in oolong tea, urine and serum analyses, respectively. The precision of the proposed method ranged from 1–9%, 0.4–9% and 0.4–8% at low, medium and high concentration levels of amino acids, respectively. The home-made golf ball-assisted ESI source effectively increased the signal intensity and enhanced the ion transmission efficiency and is also an easy, convenient and economical device. A sliding graft copolymer (SGC) with poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) side chains was prepared by ester formation between terminal carboxyl groups of oxidized PEG methyl ether with molecular weight of 2000 (mPEG2000‐COOH) and hydroxyl groups of a polyrotaxane consisting of PEG and cyclodextrins (CDs). Formation of the SGC structure was confirmed by 1H NMR, attenuated total reflectance Fourier‐transformed infrared, and gel permeation chromatography. The SGC was soluble in good solvents of PEG and insoluble in poor solvents of PEG. The phenomenon of extraordinary acoustic transmission ( eat) in a resonator, which has recently been investigated experimentally, is studied theoretically. It is shown that the combination of a single propagating mode and a symmetry orthogonal to the direction of propagation for a resonator leads to eat. This is accomplished by decomposing the problem using symmetry, the Blaschke product and the properties of functions of a single complex variable which have modulus one on the real axis. The conditions of a resonator requires that the solution has singularities in the analytic extension to complex frequencies (resonances) and it is precisely near these resonances that we observe eat. The condition of a Blaschke product requires that there is a zero at the complex conjugate of the singularity and eat occurs when the solution on the real axis passes between these complex conjugate pairs of poles and zeros. A detailed numerical study of the problem is conducted and we show that once the single mode of propagation or the symmetry is broken then eat (at least perfect transmission) no longer holds generally. 相似文献

In progressive image transmission, there exist some risks which may appear during the processing. A first class of risks is the diminishing coding performance when the occurrence of insignificant coefficients at each transmission time is a small-probability event. It may be a catastrophic transmission risk which can lead to major and irreversible bit losses. In a second class of risks, the performance of the transmission technique diminishes though the occurrence of insignificant sample is still a large-probability event.This paper shows a “Test of Transmission Risks” which can be used to analyze, for a given image, the performance of the state of the art in progressive transmission from the viewpoint of the catastrophic transmission risks. This paper presents a novel analytical model of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) using a generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN). Extensive simulation work has been done for the performance evaluation of TCP NewReno protocol. In view of the limitations of the simulation technique, we present an analytical approach using GSPN. A GSPN is a useful mathematical tool that solves continuous time Markov chains for complex systems and evaluates the stationary behavior. In this paper, we analyze the slow‐but‐steady variant of TCP NewReno. The model captures the behavioral aspects of the slow start and the congestion avoidance phase together with the fast retransmit and recovery capabilities of TCP NewReno. Performance metrics such as throughput, goodput, and task completion time of the system are obtained. The effect of variation in the model parameters on the performance is studied. The results are validated using the network simulator, and their accuracy is verified by evaluating the confidence interval. The performance of the proposed model is compared with that of TCP Reno. The performance of the proposed model is also compared with one of the previous models. The numerical illustrations and comparison of the proposed technique with simulation validates the accuracy, efficiency, and competence of the GSPN technique. While GSPN modeling for TCP is investigated in depth for the TCP NewReno and TCP Reno variant in this paper, other protocols could be also analyzed similarly.
