A novel nonconjugated copolymer (PVKEu) with carbazole segments and phenanthroline [Eu(β‐diketonate)3] moieties was synthesized via free radical copolymerization, and characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR spectroscopy, GPC, ICP, and elemental analysis. The copolymer exhibited good solubility, as well as good thermal stability and high glass transition temperature. The photoluminescence (PL) of this polymer in solution and in solid film has been studied. A multi‐layer device with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT: PSS (40 nm)/PVKEu (70 nm)/BCP (15 nm)/AlQ3 (30 nm)/LiF/Al exhibited nearly monochromatic red emission at 615 nm and voltage‐independent spectral stability. Our results suggest that enhancing the ligand‐mediated energy transfer between the matrix polymer and europium complex is a potential method to improve the electroluminescence performance of the Eu‐chelated polymers. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(3,6‐silafluorene) is a typical wide band‐gap conjugated polymer with ultraviolet light emission. The blue electroluminescence from the 3,6‐silafluorene‐based copolymers via intrachain energy transfer was reported in this study. The monomer containing vinylene, anthracene, and tri‐arylamine moieties incorporated into the poly(3,6‐silafluorene) backbone can form efficient deep‐blue emitting copolymers with EL efficiency of 1.1–1.9%. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The performance of WDM networks using shortest path routing is studied under wavelength continuous (WC) and non‐continuous (NWC) constraints and dynamic traffic loading. Approximate analytical models are presented for the performance studies of such systems. Results of numerical calculations based on these models and simulations are given for different network topologies for the purposes of comparison. A series of soluble conjugated ligands TT , FT , PT , and NT that contained terpyridyl terminal units were synthesized by Heck coupling. These ligands absorbed at 341–434 nm and emitted blue–green light, with maximum at 440–522 nm and photoluminescence quantum yields of 0.15–0.71 in solution. The double‐layer electroluminescent devices with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT/ligand FT , PT , or NT /Ca/Al exhibited a brightness of 43–63 cd/m2. These ligands were further reacted with zinc(II) and ruthenium(II) ions and subsequent anion exchange to afford linear and supramolecular complexes. The photophysics of these complexes were investigated. A significant redshift of the emission maximum of the Zn complexes relative to the corresponding ligands was observed. The Ru complexes were used to fabricate photovoltaic devices with the structure ITO/PEDOT/Ru complex/P3HT:PCBM (1:1 wt/wt)/Ca/Al. The power conversion efficiency of these polymer–fullerene bulk heterojunction photovoltaic devices was up to 0.71%. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In the present study, a new (E)‐rich‐enyne π‐conjugated polymer containing a carbazole was designed and synthesized. Two different synthesis methods of poly[N‐(2‐ethylhexyl)‐3,6‐carbazolyleneethynylene‐(E)‐vinylene] (PCZEV) have been prepared from 3,6‐diethynyl‐9(2‐ethylhexyl)carbazole by using the palladium‐carbene‐catalyzed reaction and/or by using the organolanthanide‐catalyzed reaction leading to well‐defined polymer, and their general properties were studied. Compared to poly[N‐(2‐ethylhexyl)‐3,6‐carbazolyleneethynylene] (PCE), the UV‐vis absorption and photoluminescence of the PCZEV was red‐shifted, which indicates the extension of conjugation length. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ultraviolet organic light emitting diodes with 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylicdiimide (PTCDI) interlayer have been achieved. The emission spectrum and intensity were strongly dependent on the thickness of PTCDI interlayer, in spite of the fact that PTCDI has neither much lower HOMO nor much higher LUMO level, which is considered necessary for efficient charge blocking layers. The influence of PTCDI layer was investigated in three different device configurations and obtained results are discussed. For optimal device configuration, OLED with emission centered at 370 nm and turn-on voltage of 4.5 V is obtained. 相似文献

In this paper, the slow light properties of the polyatomic Photonic Crystal (PhC) which has multiple different air holes in each primitive cell are investigated. A slow light waveguide with “U-type” group index-frequency curve, which results in nearly constant group index over large bandwidth, is achieved using this new photonic crystal geometry based on the square lattice. Also, the radius and position of the innermost rows of small air holes have been modified to investigate the feasibility of controlling the dispersion relation by subtle structural modification. Numerical results demonstrate that decreasing the group velocity effectively and meanwhile maintaining a large Normalized Delay-Bandwidth Product (NDBP) can be achieved by only modifying the radius of the innermost rows of small air holes. Shifting the innermost rows of small air holes toward the waveguide core is highly beneficial to enlarge the slow light bandwidth, but it contributes nothing to the promotion of NDBP. Our results provide important theoretical basis for the potential application offered by the polyatomic photonic crystal in future optical networks. 相似文献
