Thermodynamic and Dynamic Properties of Micellar Aggregates of Nonionic Surfactants with Short Hydrophobic Tails

The densities and viscosities of binary aqueous mixtures of poly(ethylenoxide)hexanols [C₆H₁₃(OCH₂CH₂)_mOH, C₆E_m] (m= 3, 4, and 5) have been studied in the micellar composition range. For the same surfactants the self-diffusion coefficients in mixtures with heavy water have been determined by the spin-echo pulsed field gradient method. The volumetric data are interpreted by means of the phase separation model, and values of the CMC, volume change, and standard free energy change of micellization are obtained. From the viscosity data the hydration numbers of the surfactant hydrophilic head in the micellar state are computed; they are in agreement with those obtained from HDO self-diffusion data. The surfactant self-diffusion data are used to calculate the apparent micelle radius and the aggregation number. The micellization parameters obtained for the different surfactants are compared and discussed.     

Ferromagnetically coupled heterobinuclear Cu(Ⅱ)-Ln(Ⅲ) complexes with N,N''''-bis(2-aminoethyl)-oxamido dianion as a bridged ligand

Six novel μ-oxamido heterobinuclear complexes, namely Cu(oxae)Ln(Me2bpy)2-(ClO4)3 (Ln=La, Nd, Gd, Tb, Ho, Er), where oxae denotes N, N'-bis(2-aminoethyl)oxamido dian-ion, Me2bpy is 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridyl, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, conductivity measurements and electronic spectra. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of Cu(oxae)Gd(Me2bpy)2(ClO4)3 has been meaured over the range 4-300 K. The least-squares fit of the experimental susceptibilities yielded J - 1.87 cm-1.The observed Gd(Ⅲ)-Cu(Ⅱ) coupling is ferromagnetic. One plausible mechanism that can cause a ferromagnetic coupling between Gd(Ⅲ) and Cu(Ⅱ) is discussed in terms of spin-polarization.     

First radical cation salts of 2,5-bis(1,3-dithian-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDA-TTP) with copper(II) metal complex anions: β-(BDA-TTP)4Cu2Cl6 and (BDA-TTP)2CuCl4

New radical cation salts based on 2,5-bis(1,3-dithian-2-ylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene (BDA-TTP) with copper(II) metal complex anions, β-(BDA-TTP)₄Cu₂Cl₆ and (BDA-TTP)₂CuCl₄, were synthesized and structurally characterized. Single crystals were prepared by electrochemical oxidation of BDA-TTP under galvanostatic conditions. X-ray diffraction study demonstrated that the salts have a layered structure, in which the conducting BDA-TTP layers alternate with the [Cu₂Cl₆]²⁻ or [CuCl₄]²⁻ anions. 全反式维甲酸合钇(Ⅲ)配合物对DNA的切割和键合作用(英)

以紫外光谱、荧光光谱、粘度法和凝胶电泳方法研究了全反式维甲酸合钇(Ⅲ)配合物与DNA的作用。结果表明，该配合物能在生理条件下比配体和金属离子更有效地切割质粒DNA，体系离子强度和pH值的变化对配合物的切割活性有较大影响，自由基捕捉剂的加入不影响配合物的切割活性。该配合物对DNA的切割可能通过水解机理进行。该配合物可使DNA的粘度增加，使EB-DNA体系的荧光强度和DNA溶液的紫外吸收强度降低。据此推断，该配合物主要以嵌入方式与DNA作用。     

Reaction of vinyloxyalkylamines with mercaptoacetic acid

N-[2(3)-Hydroxyalkylj-4-thiazolidinones have been synthesized by the reaction of 2(3)-vinyloxyalkylamines with mercaptoacetic acid in 24–69 % yield. Additive telluromolybdates. Structure and catalysis in oxidation

Additive telluromolybdates, MoO₃·2TeO₂ and M^IIO·TeO₂·MoO₃ (M^IITeMoO₆; M^II = Co, Mn, Zn), converted ethyl lactate selectively to pyruvate in a vaporphase fixedbed flow system at 250–300 °C. A synergy in activity was observed for binary TeO₂–MoO₃, and crystalline Te₂MoO₇ was suggested as the active species. The Rietveld analysis of powder XRD patterns of ternary CoTeMoO₆ revealed the layer structure quite different from that of the reference Te₂MoO₇, but tellurium was again located adjacent to molybdenum linked through lattice oxygen.     

Nitropyrazoles

The double Vilsmeier formylation of theC-methyl group in pyrazole derivatives has been shown to occur when a nitro-group is in the adjacent position of the ring. Physico-chemical studies on the chelation behaviour of biologically active 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde semicarbazone (HNAS) with some lanthanons

Summary The chelation behaviour of the complexes of La³⁺, Ce³⁺, Pr³⁺, Nd³⁺, Sm³⁺, Eu³⁺, Gd³⁺, Y³⁺, Tb³⁺, Dy³⁺, Ho³⁺ with biologically active 2-Hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde semicarbazone (HNAS) has been studied potentiometrically in 75% (v/v) dioxane-water medium at various ionic strengths. The method of Bjerrum and Calvin, as modified by Irving and Rossotti has been used to find out the values of n andpL. The formation constants of metal chelates and the values ofS _min have been calculated. The order of formation constants of chelates was found to be: La³⁺3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+.

Physikochemische Untersuchungen zur Komplexierung von biologisch aktivem 2-Hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyd-Semicarbazon (HNAS) mit Lanthanoiden

Zusammenfassung Das Chelierungsverhalten von La³⁺, Ce³⁺, Pr³⁺, Nd³⁺, Sm³⁺, Eu³⁺, Gd³⁺, Y³⁺, Tb³⁺, Dy³⁺ und Ho³⁺ mit 2-Hydroxy-1-naphthaldehydsemicarbazon (HNAS) wurde potentiometrisch in 75% (v/v) Dioxan-Wasser bei verschiedenen Ionenstärken untersucht. Die Werte für n undpL wurden nach der Methode von Bjerrum und Calvin in der Modifikation von Irving und Rossotti bestimmt. Die Komplexbildungskonstanten der Metallchelate und die WerteS _min wurden ermittelt. Die Reihung der Komplexbildungskonstanten war La³⁺3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+33+.

     

Golden crowns: cation binding by macrocyclic gold(I) crown ether derivatives

The polyether bis(alkynes) α,ω-bis(O-propargyl)triethylene glycol and α,ω-bis(O-4-propargyloxyphenoxy)triethylene glycol reacted with [AuCl(SMe₂)] in the presence of base to form the corresponding oligomeric gold(I) acetylide complexes (AuCCCH₂O(CH₂CH₂O)₃CH₂CCAu)_n and (AuCCCH₂OC₆H₄O(CH₂CH₂O)₃C₆H₄OCH₂CCAu)_n. These digold(I) diacetylide complexes reacted with diphosphine ligands to give macrocyclic digold(I) complexes of the type [Au₂(μ-CC)(μ-PP)], where CC is the diacetylide and PP is a diphosphine ligand. These digold(I) complexes bind the cations Li⁺, Na⁺, K⁺ and Cs⁺, as studied by electrospray mass spectrometry.     

TiSiW12O40/TiO2催化合成苹果酯

以固载杂多酸盐TiSiW12O40/TiO2为多相催化剂，通过乙酰乙酸乙酯和乙二醇反应合成了苹果酯，探讨TiSiW12O40/TiO2对缩酮反应的催化活性，较系统地研究了原料量比，催化剂肜量，反应时间诸因素对产品收率的影响，实验表明：TiSiW12O40/TiO2是合成苹果酯的良好催化剂，在n(乙酰乙酸乙酯）：n(乙二醇）＝1：1．5，催化剂用量为反应物料总质量的1．0％，环己烷为带水剂，反应时间50min的优化条件下，苹果酯的收率可达84．1％。
