We present numerical schemes for the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations (NSE) with open and traction boundary conditions. We use pressure Poisson equation (PPE) formulation and propose new boundary conditions for the pressure on the open or traction boundaries. After replacing the divergence free constraint by this pressure Poisson equation, we obtain an unconstrained NSE. For Stokes equation with open boundary condition on a simple domain, we prove unconditional stability of a first order semi-implicit scheme where the pressure is treated explicitly and hence is decoupled from the computation of velocity. Using either boundary condition, the schemes for the full NSE that treat both convection and pressure terms explicitly work well with various spatial discretizations including spectral collocation and C0 finite elements. Moreover, when Reynolds number is of O(1) and when the first order semi-implicit time stepping is used, time step size of O(1) is allowed in benchmark computations for the full NSE. Besides standard stability and accuracy check, various numerical results including flow over a backward facing step, flow past a cylinder and flow in a bifurcated tube are reported. Numerically we have observed that using PPE formulation enables us to use the velocity/pressure pairs that do not satisfy the standard inf–sup compatibility condition. Our results extend that of Johnston and Liu [H. Johnston, J.-G. Liu, Accurate, stable and efficient Navier–Stokes solvers based on explicit treatment of the pressure term. J. Comp. 为提高承受内部爆炸载荷钢筒的抗爆性能,研究了泡沫铝内衬对钢筒变形的影响。首先通过对比实验,发现在本文的实验条件下,泡沫铝内衬导致钢筒变形增大,甚至发生了严重的破坏;进而建立有限元模型,研究了钢筒变形随爆炸当量、泡沫铝内衬厚度的变化机理和规律。结果表明,添加足够厚度的泡沫铝内衬能够减小钢筒变形,但泡沫铝厚度不足时,则可能起到相反的效果。对于固定尺寸的含泡沫铝内衬钢筒,随着爆炸当量增加,泡沫铝内衬对钢筒塑性变形的影响主要包含3种模式。模式1,泡沫铝可通过塑性变形吸收爆炸载荷,从而减小钢筒变形。模式2,泡沫铝内衬导致钢筒承受的载荷强度增大,钢筒塑性变形增大。模式3,泡沫铝对载荷强度的影响可忽略,泡沫铝通过增大结构质量减小钢筒塑性变形。

Quartz-homeotypic gallium (ortho-) phosphate, GaPO4, is of special interest for resonator applications asking for temperature compensated cuts with higher electro-mechanical coupling than quartz and operational temperatures up to 970°C. The crystal microbalance technique, well known for quartz (QCM) which can be used only at moderate temperatures, can now be extended to much higher temperatures using GaPO4 crystals, benefiting from all three advantages mentioned above. Two different experiments were done to demonstrate the advantages of a crystal microbalance based on GaPO4. First, the GaPO4 resonator was used for film thickness determination and compared with a commercial QCM. This experiment demonstrated that the measuring range can be extended by using GaPO4 resonators instead of quartz. The second experiment demonstrates the possibility for thermogravimetric analysis up to 720°C by using a new concept for resonator mounting.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date. 相似文献

An analytical study is presented for the transient electrophoretic response of a circular cylindrical particle to the step application of an electric field. The electric double layer adjacent to the particle surface is thin but finite compared with the radius of the particle. The time‐evolving electroosmotic velocity at the outer boundary of the double layer is utilized as a slip condition so that the transient momentum conservation equation for the bulk fluid flow is solved. Explicit formulas for the unsteady electrophoretic velocity of the particle are obtained for both axially and transversely applied electric fields, and can be linearly superimposed for an arbitrarily‐oriented applied field. If the cylindrical particle is neutrally buoyant in the suspending fluid, the transient electrophoretic velocity is independent of the orientation of the particle relative to the applied electric field and will be in the direction of the applied field. If the particle is different in density from the fluid, then the direction of electrophoresis will not coincide with that of the applied field until the steady state is attained. The growth of the electrophoretic mobility with the elapsed time for a cylindrical particle is substantially slower than for a spherical particle. 相似文献

The present paper focuses on the analysis of two- and three-dimensional flow past a circular cylinder in different laminar flow regimes. In this simulation, an implicit pressure-based finite volume method is used for time-accurate computation of incompressible flow using second order accurate convective flux discretisation schemes. The computation results are validated against measurement data for mean surface pressure, skin friction coefficients, the size and strength of the recirculating wake for the steady flow regime and also for the Strouhal frequency of vortex shedding and the mean and RMS amplitude of the fluctuating aerodynamic coefficients for the unsteady periodic flow regime. The complex three dimensional flow structure of the cylinder wake is also reasonably captured by the present prediction procedure. 相似文献
