The extended Huygens–Fresnel principle is utilized to make analysis of the received intensity for laser beam propagation through the atmospheric turbulence in the slant path. For a diffuse target, the effects of the turbulence on the statistical parameters such as the mutual coherence function and the mean intensity are studied in detail. The influence of the incident wave radius and the distance of the incident beam on these parameters are discussed.  相似文献

We investigate the optical bistability (OB) and optical multi-stability (OM) in a four-level N-type atomic system. The effect of spontaneously generated coherence (SGC) on OB and OM is then discussed. It is found that SGC makes the medium phase dependent, so the optical bistability and multi-stability threshold can be controlled via relative phase between applied fields. We realize that the frequency detuning of probe and coupling fields with the corresponding atomic transition plays an important role in creation OB and OM. Moreover, the effect of laser coupling fields and an incoherent pumping field on reduction of OB and OM threshold is then discussed.  相似文献

Under Doppler free double resonant condition, an open five level system with three closely spaced upper levels and a pair of closely spaced lower levels, is allowed to interact with two electromagnetic fields. In the domain of semiclassical formulation of atom-field interaction, the optical Bloch equations involving the density matrix elements are constructed. These coupled optical Bloch equations are unsolvable in closed analytical form. We use the perturbation method for getting the approximate analytical solutions to the coupled optical Bloch equations. The absorptive signal lineshape corresponding to pump frequency Ω1 and signal frequency Ω2 is obtained. We also obtain the absorptive signal line shape by interchanging the pump and signal (i.e., the pump frequency is Ω2 and the signal frequency is Ω1) mutually. The interferences between the probability amplitudes for different energy levels involving the dipole allowed and the dipole forbidden transitions give rise to the field dependent and field independent quantum coherence respectively. With the suitable manipulation of the coherence between the two lower levels, the signal lineshapes for on-resonance and off-resonance pump positions are explored in a great detail. The off-resonance pump leads to the two-photon absorption and hence the signature of the nonlinear resonances. On the other hand, the on-resonance pump positions lead to the Rabi splitting. The shifts of the resonance peak positions are explored as a function of pump intensity and the level spacings of the closely spaced levels.  相似文献

Based on extended Huygens-Fresnel principle, analytical expressions of beam width and far-field angular spreading for electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model (EGSM) beams propagating in atmospheric turbulence are obtained. The effects of coherence and polarization on beam spreading and directionality in atmospheric turbulence are investigated in detail. A condition is obtained under which beams with different degrees of spatial coherence and polarization will generate the same far-field angular spreading in atmospheric turbulence. Our results have potential application in long-distance free space optical communications.  相似文献

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and terahertz pulsed imaging (TPI) are two powerful techniques allowing high quality cross-sectional images from within scattering media to be obtained non-destructively. In this paper, we report experimental results of using OCT and TPI for quantitatively characterizing pharmaceutical tablet coatings in the thickness range of 10-140 μm. We found that the spectral OCT system developed in-house has an axial resolution of 0.9 μm, and is capable of quantifying very thin coatings in the range of 10-60 μm. The upper limit of 60 μm within the tablet coating and core is owed to the strong scattering of OCT light, which has relatively short wavelengths in the range of 0.5-1.0 μm. On the other hand, TPI utilizes terahertz radiation that has substantially long wavelengths in the range of hundreds of microns, and thus is less prone to the scattering problem. Consequently TPI has been demonstrated to be able to quantify thicker coatings in the range of 40-140 μm and beyond. We concluded that OCT and TPI are two complementary analytical techniques for non-destructive and quantitative characterization of pharmaceutical tablet coatings.  相似文献

目标漫反射产生的激光回波散斑效应严重影响合成孔径激光成像雷达(SAIL)的成像质量。在体系结构上提出了抑制散斑效应的系统性解决方案,建立了SAIL结构和工作模式设计的理论基础。研究了SAIL中与目标分辨单元尺寸、啁啾波长变化、目标相关性质和接收面光强随机分布有关的散斑统计特性。定义了SAIL光学接收天线的散斑孔径积分场复相干函数,它是天线孔径相关函数和目标分辨单元相关因子的卷积,其宽度就是可实现的孔径合成长度,给出了实现较大的孔径合成长度的发射口径、接收口径和实际孔径合成长度的设计原则,发现和分析了由啁啾散斑移动产生的拍频信号波动。最后建议采用滑动聚束模式来有效使用散斑效应造成较短的孔径合成尺度,因为其光束扫描宽度对SAIL移动距离有放大作用。同时也提出了具有多发射机/多接收机的多通道结构以提高回波散斑光场的探测率。  相似文献

本文结合最近的典型量子物理实验 ,如用冷原子Bragg散射实现的“which way”实验 ,量子退相干过程的微腔QED检验和C60 分子的量子干涉等 ,比较系统地介绍了量子理论基本问题若干研究的新进展 ,特别强调了处于其核心的量子测量问题及其相关的基本概念和基本思想 ,如EPR佯谬和Bell不等式 ,量子退相干和量子纠缠。从理论和实验结合的角度 ,本文阐述了被测系统和测量仪器的相互作用怎样导致量子测量的一般动力学过程。由此还讨论了外部环境和内部运动怎样诱导量子退相干和量子耗散 ,对“薛定谔猫佯谬”和“宏观物体空间局域化描述”给出了可能的物理解释。最后 ,通过具体例子 ,本文简单地讨论了量子物理基本问题的研究结果对量子信息的应用  相似文献
