A new class of distributional transformations is introduced, characterized by equations relating function weighted expectations of test functions on a given distribution to expectations of the transformed distribution on the test functions higher order derivatives. The class includes the size and zero bias transformations, and when specializing to weighting by polynomial functions, relates distributional families closed under independent addition, and in particular the infinitely divisible distributions, to the family of transformations induced by their associated orthogonal polynomial systems. For these families, generalizing a well known property of size biasing, sums of independent variables are transformed by replacing summands chosen according to a multivariate distribution on its index set by independent variables whose distributions are transformed by members of that same family. A variety of the transformations associated with the classical orthogonal polynomial systems have as fixed points the original distribution, or a member of the same family with different parameter.  相似文献

We construct extremal stochastic integrals of a deterministic function with respect to a random Fréchet () sup-measure. The measure is sup-additive rather than additive and is defined over a general measure space , where is a deterministic control measure. The extremal integral is constructed in a way similar to the usual stable integral, but with the maxima replacing the operation of summation. It is well-defined for arbitrary , and the metric metrizes the convergence in probability of the resulting integrals.This approach complements the well-known de Haan's spectral representation of max-stable processes with Fréchet marginals. De Haan's representation can be viewed as the max-stable analog of the LePage series representation of stable processes, whereas the extremal integrals correspond to the usual stable stochastic integrals. We prove that essentially any strictly stable process belongs to the domain of max-stable attraction of an Fréchet, max-stable process. Moreover, we express the corresponding Fréchet processes in terms of extremal stochastic integrals, involving the kernel function of the stable process. The close correspondence between the max-stable and stable frameworks yields new examples of max-stable processes with non-trivial dependence structures.This research was partially supported by a fellowship of the Horace H. The chemisorption of acetylene on various faces of bcc tungsten, modelled by clusters of various sizes, has been studied by the Extended Hückel method. Relative binding energies on the various sites have been obtained, and the bonding modes of acetylene are discussed, also in comparison with experiment. It is concluded that, whenever possible, acetylene is di- bonded to the surface, and sp 2hybridization is considered likely in all cases.This paper is dedicated to Professor Hermann Hartmann on the occasion of his 65th birthday.  相似文献
