Optical feedback modifies the power vs. current diagram of a laser diode as well as its spectrum. Though optimization of the spectral characteristics is usually the main goal in the design of an external cavity source, power efficiency is also important, especially with relatively high power devices, where temperature variations due to dissipation can have an impact on the wavelength stability and on the laser lifetime. A useful parameter to describe the total power efficiency of the stabilized laser, relative to that of the solitary laser, is proposed in this paper. The dependence of this parameter on the characteristics of the active device, and of the external cavity, is investigated.  相似文献

The solution of a screw dislocation under time-harmonic condition is obtained in an infinite isotropic plane by means of the Fourier transform method. The stress components reveal the familiar Cauchy singularity at the location of dislocation. The solution is employed to derive integral equations for a plane weakened by cracks and cavities. Cavities are considered as closed curved cracks without singularity. Several examples are solved and the stress intensity factor of cracks and hoop stress on cavities are obtained.  相似文献

An experimentally feasible scheme for implementing quantum secret sharing via cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) is proposed. The scheme requires the large detuning of the cavity field from the atomic transition, the cavity is only virtually excited, thus the requirement on the quality factor of the cavity is greatly loosened.  相似文献

利用基于几何光学和高斯波束法的复射线法分析了相对任意开口圆柱腔的后向散射场。该圆柱腔内部包含较复杂的中心锥,叶片等结构,计算了两种较复杂进气道模型的雷达截面,所得结果均与弹跳射线法结果进行了比较,二者吻合很好,该方法受计算机内存影响小,对电大腔体,复射线法精确高效。  相似文献

We investigate a special technique called ‘pressure separation algorithm’ (PSepA) (see Applied Mathematics and Computation 2005; 165 :275–290 for an introduction) that is able to significantly improve the accuracy of incompressible flow simulations for problems with large pressure gradients. In our numerical studies with the computational fluid dynamics package FEATFLOW ( www.featflow.de ), we mainly focus on low‐order Stokes elements with nonconforming finite element approximations for the velocity and piecewise constant pressure functions. However, preliminary numerical tests show that this advantageous behavior can also be obtained for higher‐order discretizations, for instance, with Q2/P1 finite elements. We analyze the application of this simple, but very efficient, algorithm to several stationary and nonstationary benchmark configurations in 2D and 3D (driven cavity and flow around obstacles), and we also demonstrate its effect to spurious velocities in multiphase flow simulations (‘static bubble’ configuration) if combined with edge‐oriented, resp., interior penalty finite element method stabilization techniques. The effect of forward and reverse electrostatic discharge (ESD) on the electro‐optical characteristics of oxide vertical‐cavity surface‐emitting lasers is investigated using a human body model for the purpose of understanding degradation behavior. Forward ESD‐induced degradation is complicated, showing three degradation phases depending on ESD voltage, while reverse ESD‐induced degradation is relatively simple, exhibiting two phases of degradation divided by a sudden distinctive change in electro‐optical characteristics. We demonstrate that the increase in the threshold current is mainly due to the increase in leakage current, nonradiative recombination current, and optical loss. The decrease in the slope efficiency is mainly due to the increase in optical loss.  相似文献

本文报道用一台对撞脉冲锁模Nd:YAG激光器的三倍频光作为泵浦光源,采用超短腔结构,获得叶绿素的红色ps脉冲激光输出的装置和实验结果。研究了叶绿素a和b在各种聚合状态下输出激光波长随染料浓度的变化关系,当叶绿素a-乙醇溶液浓度为2×10~(-3)M,激光腔长<36μm时可获得单模调谐ps系列脉冲输出,激光束的发散角≈60mrad。  相似文献
