Nitride coatings have been used to increase hardness and to improve the wear and corrosion resistance of structural materials. Coatings of TiN/ZrN were grown on stainless steel substrates using a physical vapour deposition system assisted by pulsed arc plasma (PAPVD). The coatings have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to identify the present phases of the films, microstrain level generated, crystallite size and the variation of the lattice parameter. The results showed plane orientations (1 1 1) and (2 0 0) in both TiN and ZrN films. Morphology surface analysis of the samples were performed using a scanning probe microscope to characterize the grain size and roughness in the mode of the atomic force microscopy (AFM) hence it was observed that the root-mean-squared (rms) roughness for ZrN is smaller than for TiN. Besides elastic and friction properties of the films were characterized qualitatively, and then, they were compared with those of the substrates by using force modulation microscopy (FMM) and lateral force microscopy (LFM) modes. In addition, an elemental analysis of the samples was realized by means of energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Both, XRD and AFM results are given as a function of the number of shots. The influence of molecular weight and the amount of the poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) on the growth of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)–based films on copper surfaces was studied by electrochemical, infrared and electronic spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric methods. Complex polymer/metal ions were deposited onto a copper surface, as the result of the electrochemically generated reaction of copper cations with PVP and SCN?, in sulfuric acid media. Spontaneous film growth on copper surfaces was generated and characterized as a Cu(II)/PVP/SCN? complex. Infrared spectra and thermal gravimetric curves of the films generated at + 0.7 V were compared with the chemically synthesized complex, and show the same patterns. The oxidation process can be described as: Cu(0)→Cu(I) and Cu(I)→Cu(II), and the copper complex formed at more positive potentials was characterized as Cu(II)/PVP/SCN?, with copper bonded to the oxygen atom of PVP and thiocyanate ligand N‐linked. Mixed mode (MM) separation using a combination of MEKC and polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) coatings is herein reported for the separation of achiral and chiral analytes. Many analytes are difficult to separate by MEKC and PEM coatings alone. Therefore, the implementation of a MM separation provides several advantages for overcoming the limitations of these well‐established methods. In this study, it was observed that achiral separations using MEKC and PEM coatings individually resulted in partial resolution of eight very similar aryl ketones when the molecular micelle (sodium poly(N‐undecanoyl‐L ‐glycinate)) concentration was varied from 0.25 to 1.00% w/v and the bilayer number varied from 2 to 4. However, when MM separation was introduced, baseline resolution was achieved for all eight analytes. In the case of chiral separations, temazepam, aminoglutethimide, benzoin, benzoin methyl ether, and coumachlor were separated using the three separation techniques. For chiral separations, the chiral molecular micelle, sodium poly(N‐undecanoyl‐L ‐leucylvalinate), was employed at concentrations of 0.25–1.50% w/v for both MEKC and PEM coatings. Overall, the results revealed partial separation with MEKC and PEM coatings individually. However, MM separation enabled baseline separation of each chiral mixture. The separation of achiral and chiral compounds from different compound classes demonstrates the versatility of this MM approach. 相似文献

为了研制低损耗、高性能的193 nm氟化物增透膜,研究了基底和不同氟化物材料组合对氟化物增透膜的影响。在熔石英基底上,将挡板法和预镀层技术相结合,采用热舟蒸发方式制备了不同氟化物材料组合增透膜,对增透膜的剩余反射率和光学损耗等光学特性,以及表面粗糙度和应力等特性进行了测量和比较。在分析比较和优化的基础上,设计制备的3层1/4波长规整膜系AlF3/LaF3增透膜在193 nm的剩余反射率低于0.14%,单面镀膜增透膜的透射率为93.85%,增透膜表面均方根粗糙度为0.979 nm,总的损耗约为6%。要得到高性能的193 nm增透膜,应选用超级抛光基底。 相似文献

Surface microcompression is a very important technique to characterize the mechanical properties of film and coating systems. In this paper, surface microcompression simulation for La2Zr2O7 (LZ) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) was implemented by finite element method, especially, the influence of pores on the surface microcompression mechanical response of the thermal barrier coatings fabricated by atmospheric plasma spray (APS) was focused on. The simulation results indicate that the pores not only affect the stress distribution beneath the contact area between the indenter and coating surface, but also affect the shape of the force-displacement curve and the plastic deformation behavior of TBCs. The micromechanism was discussed in detail in this study. At the same time, by using the surface microcompression technique, a new direction or method was proposed to characterize the pore content of the coating quantitatively. 相似文献

Hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO) films have been deposited on bell metal using radiofrequency plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (RF-PACVD) technique. The protective performances of the HMDSO films and their water repellency have been investigated as a function of DC self-bias voltage on the substrates during deposition. Plasma potential measurements during film deposition process are carried out by self-compensated emissive probe. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) analyses of the plasma during deposition reveal no significant change in the plasma composition within the DC self-bias voltage range of −40 V to −160 V that is used. Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies are carried out for film chemistry analysis and indicate that the impinging ion energy on the substrates influences the physio-chemical properties of the HMDSO films. At critical ion energy of 113 qV (corresponding to DC self-bias voltage of −100 V), the deposited HMDSO film exhibits least defective Si-O-Si chemical structure and highest inorganic character and this contributes to its best corrosion resistance behavior. The hardness and elastic modulus of the films are found to be bias dependent and are 1.27 GPa and 5.36 GPa for films deposited at −100 V. The critical load for delamination is also bias dependent and is 11 mN for this film. The water repellency of the HMDSO films is observed to be dependent on the variation in surface roughness. The results of the investigations suggest that HMDSO films deposited by RF-PACVD can be used as protective coatings on bell metal surfaces. 相似文献
