Several thousand tons of medical herbs are produced annually by pharmaceutical industry in Poland. This product should be of highest quality and microbial purity. Recently, chemical methods of decontamination are recognized as less safe, thus irradiation technique was chosen to replace them in use. In the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology the national program on the application of irradiation to the decontamination of medical herbs is in progress now. The purpose of the program is to elaborate, on the basis of research work, the facility standards and technological instructions indispensable for the practice of radiation technology. 相似文献

The full configuration interaction method in the space of fractionally occupied unrestricted natural orbitals (UNO-CAS method)
is extended to excited states as well as to strongly correlated and reactive systems with large active spaces. This is accomplished
by␣using restricted active space (RAS) wave functions introduced by Olsen et al. [(1988) J Chem Phys 89: 2185] and using the
UNOs without the expensive orbital optimization step. In RAS, the space of active orbitals is subdivided into three groups:
a group with essentially doubly occupied orbitals (RAS1), the usual CAS space (RAS2), and a space with weakly occupied active
orbitals (RAS3). We select these spaces on the basis of the occupation numbers of the UNOs. All possible electron distributions
are allowed in the usual CAS space, but the number of vacancies is limited in RAS1 and the number of electrons is limited
in RAS3. We discuss an efficient algorithm for generating a RAS wave function. This is based on the Handy-Knowles determinantal
expansion with an addressing scheme adopted for the restricted expansion. Results for both ground and excited states of azulene
and free base porphyrin are presented.

The formation of an adatom layer on polycrystalline platinum and the three-dimensional nucleation of copper in a copper perchlorate solution are studied by cyclic voltammetry at 0.1 V s–1 while varying potential ranges and by recording potentiostatic current transients. About 0.6 monolayers of copper adatoms are deposited when cycling with anodic limit E
a = 1.35 V, the process is slower than that in an acid sulfate solution. Decreasing E
a accelerates the process (nearly one monolayer forms for E
a = 0.80–0.95 V in a cathodic scan) due to an increased number of active centers (metastable copper oxides) and, probably, to a change in the platinum surface microstructure. Oxygen for copper oxides is presumably supplied by water molecules adsorbed on a monolayer of copper adsorbed atoms and by subsurface oxygen (Oss), which appears on the platinum surface after the destruction of complexes Oss–Pt
n
–ClO4. Both the copper nucleation and the deposit growth accelerate at higher concentrations of copper oxides, which form at low E

Pyrazole, thiazolidinone, and azetidinone derivatives were synthesized from chalcones of 4-hydroxycoumarin. The structures of all the synthesized compounds were confirmed on the basis of spectral and analytical data. Treatment of optically active 1-chlorovinyl p-tolyl sulfoxides, which were synthesized from symmetrical ketones and (R)-(−)-chloromethyl p-tolyl sulfoxide in three steps, with lithium enolate of carboxylic acid tert-butyl esters gave optically active adducts having a substituent at the α-position with high 1,4-chiral induction from the sulfur chiral center in high yields. The adducts were converted to optically active esters and carboxylic acids having a chiral center at the α-position. When this addition reaction was carried out with the ester enolate generated from excess carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester with LDA in the presence of HMPA, the diastereomer of the adduct was obtained. By using the two reaction conditions for the generation of the ester enolates, a new method for asymmetric synthesis of both enantiomers of carboxylic acid derivatives having a substituent at the α-position from the one chiral source, (R)-(−)-chloromethyl p-tolyl sulfoxide, was realized. 相似文献

Abstract The synthesis and stereochemistry of tricoordinated optically active selenium and tellurium compounds are described. Telluronium salts, telluronium imides, and seleninic acids were prepared and optically resolved by fractional recrystallization of diastereomeric mixtures or by chromatography using a chiral column of racemic mixtures. Diphenyl dichalcogenides also were optically resolved by chiral crystallization. Their absolute configurations were determined or estimated based on X-ray crystallographic analysis, specific rotations, and circular dichroism spectra. We present a computational protocol which uses the known three-dimensional structure of a target enzyme to identify possible ligands from databases of compounds with low molecular weight. This is accomplished by first mapping the essential interactions in the binding site with the program GRID. The resulting regions of favorable interaction between target and ligand are translated into a database query, and with UNITY a flexible 3D database search is performed. The feasibility of this approach is calibrated with thrombin as the target. Our results show that the resulting hit lists are enriched with thrombin inhibitors compared to the total database. 相似文献
