Adaptive multimedia streaming using a simulation test bed

The major purpose of this paper is to transmit an existing video above a complete simulated video streaming architecture based on Network Simulator (NS2). Thanks to our architecture, the visual quality evaluation of the distributed streaming platform under various conditions is simplified. Indeed, the received video can be easily visualized using a classic video client or be compared using the Peak Signal-Noise Ratio (PSNR) value and the Structural SIMilarity (SSIM) value. In the case study, we compare adaptive video congestion strategies using a transcoder, Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) and TCP-Friendly Rate Control (TFRC).     

Microfluidic fabrication of water-in-water droplets encapsulated in hydrogel microfibers

By combining microfiber spinning techniques with aqueous two phase system (ATPS), a rapid and simple strategy to fabricate water-in-water (w/w) droplets encapsulated in microfibers was proposed for the first time. Hydrophilic environment in hydrogel and the fiber format facilitates higher biocompatibility, convenient manipulation of the droplets and recycling of the contents inside droplets, which would have promising development in biological, pharmacological and environmental fields.

网络时代计算机通信与控制技术应用在各行各业之中，在获得这项技术带来的便利之时，其可靠性也受到人们的关注，并成为计算机发展的重要研究课题。本文首先对其可靠性理论进行了探讨，并重点分析了影响其可靠性的因素，从而提出了提升计算机通信与控制系统的策略。     

Indoor localization based on wireless sensor networks

Indoor localization systems are becoming very popular because they enable the creation of very interesting location-based applications. This paper provides a short introduction about localization systems based on a sensor network and the actual state of the art. Important topics related to indoor localization like the necessary infrastructure, available technologies and their expected accuracy are treated. Additionally, the results of previous work referred to the performance evaluation of localization algorithms are shortly described. Finally, some ideas related to further investigations are presented.     

Photovoltaic performance of Organic Photovoltaics for indoor energy harvester

Wireless sensor network becomes widespread into home and offices to keep them comfort and save the energy. The battery-less wireless sensor nodes need the high performance indoor solar cells for stable and sustainable operation. Organic Photovoltaics (OPV) has great indoor photovoltaic performance because ultra-thin organic layer has strong absorption against the UV–visible spectrum that is good spectral matching with indoor lightings. In this study, OPV module has 8 cells in series and same size as the conventional amorphous silicon solar cells (a-Si) for indoor light harvesting. OPV and a-Si are measured their photovoltaic performance under the fluorescent light and demonstrated for energy harvester of wireless sensor network. The output power of OPV and a-Si is 43.4 μW cm⁻² and 28.5 μW cm⁻² at fluorescent light 1000lux respectively. The data transmission rate of the wireless sensor node driven by OPV is 30–40% improved under the dim light condition compared to a-Si.     

Asymmetric CPW-fed SRR patch antenna for WLAN/WiMAX applications

In this paper, a compact asymmetric coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed with split-ring resonator (SRR) is proposed to resonate at dual-band operations for wireless local area network (WLAN) and worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) applications. The asymmetric CPW-fed SRR patch (ACSP) antenna consists of a meander line, square-shaped split ring, and CPW ground plane. The proposed ACSP antenna resonates at two operating frequencies, namely, 2.48 GHz (2.4–2.74 GHz) and 3.49 GHz (3.25–3.64 GHz) with reflection coefficients (S₁₁) of −16.65 dB and −32.67 dB, respectively. The measured results agree closely with the simulation results of the proposed antenna.     

Properties of cat-eye modulating retro-reflector and its application with piezoelectric transducer

Piezoelectric cat-eye modulating retro-reflector (MRR) is the core component of an acousto-optic retro-identification system. The influence of the optical parameters (link distance l, lens focal length f and the detector diameter r) to the cat-eye effect was analyzed theoretically and experimentally. A piezoelectric cat-eye retro-identification (PCERI) system was built, and an information transmission ratio of 2 kHz was achieved which can satisfy an access control system.     

基于5G边缘云的港口统一通信方案研究与实践

5G边缘云具有分布式、灵活组网、快速部署和本地流量分流等优势，在港口等垂直工业领域有很广泛的应用前景，同时对实现港口统一通信也提出了一定的要求。在研究基于5G边缘云的港口统一通信架构的基础上，提出了针对港口现场全域各类要素实现全面感知、支撑自动化业务改造的5G边缘云功能框架。此功能框架能很好地适用于港口场景的有线无线网络融合的统一承载，可作为目前复杂环境下的港口网络统一通信的网络基础设施。最后在某港口码头上对该方案进行了实际验证。     

宽带毫米波大规模MIMO系统中低复杂度波束域信道估计

针对宽带毫米波大规模MIMO系统信道估计精度低及实现复杂度较高的问题，在传统支撑检测方案的基础上提出一种基于Gauss-Seidel方法的串行支撑检测（GS-SSD）方案。该方案不使用共同支撑假设，参考串行干扰删除，将整体信道估计问题分解为一系列子问题，每个子问题仅考虑一个信道成分。同时，利用Gauss-Seidel方法近似高复杂度的矩阵求逆。仿真结果表明，相比于基于串行支撑检测（SSD）的方案， GS-SSD方案在将求逆复乘数降低一个数量级的同时可以取得接近SSD方案的信道估计性能。     

Some properties of the Owen T-function

Some new relations for the Owen function are obtained including differentiation and integration formulas, integral representations and series. Applications of the Owen function in probability theory and in communication theory are shown.
