On the paper “Symmetry analysis of wave equation on sphere” by H. Azad and M.T. Mustafa

Using the scalar curvature of the product manifold S²×R and the complete group classification of nonlinear Poisson equation on (pseudo) Riemannian manifolds, we extend the previous results on symmetry analysis of homogeneous wave equation obtained by H. Azad and M.T. Mustafa [H. Azad, M.T. Mustafa, Symmetry analysis of wave equation on sphere, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 333 (2007) 1180-1188] to nonlinear Klein-Gordon equations on the two-dimensional sphere.     

Dispersion of elastic waves in the contact-impact problem of a long cylinder

Numerical dispersion of two-dimensional finite elements was studied. The outcome of the dispersion study was verified by the numerical and analytical solutions to the longitudinal impact of two long cylindrical bars. In accordance with the results of the dispersion analysis it was demonstrated that the quadratic elements showed better accuracy than the linear ones.     

Shell correction in Bohr stopping theory

Second-harmonic cross-correlation operates a selection in time-phase among the randomly de-phased contributions to an optical field that propagated through a scattering medium. It can thus be used to selectively detect the weak contribution remaining coherent with the incident field. Received 7 May 1999     

Energy Decay for the Cauchy Problem of the Linear Wave Equation of Variable Coeffcients with Dissipation

Decay of the energy for the Cauchy problem of the wave equation of variable coeffcients with a dissipation is considered.It is shown that whether a dissipation can be localized near infinity depends on the curvature properties of a Riemannian metric given by the variable coeffcients.In particular,some criteria on curvature of the Riemannian manifold for a dissipation to be localized are given.     

Analysis of tunnel diode antenna using iterative method

An efficient iterative method, based on the wave concept has been used to analyze the printed tunnel diode integrated antenna. A high computational speed has been achieved by introducing a 2D fast Fourier transformation (2D-FFT) in wave-guide environment. The simulated results are compared with published data and a good agreement is observed.     

THE EXPONENTIAL STABILIZATION FOR A SEMILINEAR WAVE EQUATION WITH LOCALLY DISTRIBUTED FEEDBACK

This paper considers the exponential decay of the solution to a damped semilinear wave equation with variable coefficients in the principal part by Riemannian multiplier method. A differential geometric condition that ensures the exponential decay is obtained.

针对有限频率选择表面的电磁散射特性难以用一般方法进行分析的难题 ,提出了两种行之有效的适合不同情况的高效处理方法 :谱域伽略金法和基于平面波谱 (PWS)分解逼近的方法 ,大大节约了CPU的计算时间和内存空间。     

Frequency– and Time-domain BEM Analysis of Rigid Track on a Half-Space with Vibration Barriers

The rapid development of high-speed trains like the TGV or the ICE in recent years results in high dynamic loads causing vibrations which propagate from the train-track structure into the ground and further into nearby buildings. In this context it is important to develop rigid tracks with improved dynamic behaviour and to investigate possible means of vibration reduction. The boundary element method in frequency and time domain is used to simulate train-track structures subjected to dynamic loading and the reduction of vibrations which for instance can be achieved via a trench running parallel to the rigid track. In this context the non-causality error, which arises when the time-domain BEM algorithm is applied to mathematically concave domains, is discussed and the substructure method is proposed as a solution to this problem. A two-layered cylindrical elastic structure on a half-space with a trench is added as an example of a possible application.
