We used the recombinant phage display antibody system (RPAS) to obtain chimeric single-chain fragment variable (ScFv) antibodies
to gill proteins of the white clam Codakia orbicularis (Linné, 1758). After three rounds of selection on immunotubes loaded with total gill protein extract, recombinant phages

The dynamics of gel isoelectric focusing were studied by using amphoteric low-molecular-mass colored substances (isoelectric point markers). The polyacrylamide gel in slab format was in direct contact with the electrodes. In addition to isoelectric focusing with a pH gradient composed of synthetic carrier ampholytes, pH gradients created by simple buffers of acetic acid, 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid, histidine and N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine were applied. The progress of the electrofocusing process was monitored by a charge-coupled device camera and video recording. The gradient profile and dynamics were approximated from the positions of isoelectric point markers, which were focused both on boundaries between individual zones of simple buffers and within the zones themselves. The obtained animated records enabled the observation of the entire real focusing run within fractions of a minute, which is useful both for the understanding and optimization of the focusing. 相似文献

Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) is the state-of-the-art technology for video streaming and has been widely deployed in both wired and wireless environments. However, mobile DASH users often suffer from video quality oscillation and even video freeze in wireless environments, which results in poor user experience. This is mainly because most quality adaptation algorithms in DASH rely highly on bandwidth estimation to adjust the video quality while wireless network bandwidth is unstable in nature and changes frequently according to wireless channel contention and condition. To provide stable performance, even during severe bandwidth fluctuation, this paper proposes the Wireless Quality Adaptation (WQUAD) algorithm, which eliminates bandwidth estimation from quality adaptation. Thanks to the Scalable Video Codec (SVC), the proposed scheme always prioritizes to lower layers over higher ones as long as the play-out buffer is not completely filled by the lower layers. As a result, the client always fills the buffer with the base layers first and then the upper enhancement layers sequentially. This horizontal adaptation is straightforward and does not require any bandwidth estimation. Through NS-2 simulations, we show that WQUAD achieves (i) stable performance, keeping the video quality level with respect to the long-term network bandwidth, (ii) effective video freeze prevention, and (iii) high video quality on average. 相似文献

Online video nowadays has become one of the top activities for users and has become easy to access. In the meantime, how to manage such huge amount of video data and retrieve them efficiently has become a big issue. In this article, we propose a novel method for video abstraction based on fast clustering of the regions of interest (ROIs). Firstly, the key-frames in each shot are extracted using the average histogram algorithm. Secondly, the saliency and edge maps are generated from each key-frame. According to these two maps, the key points for the visual attention model can be determined. Meanwhile, in order to expand the regions surrounding the key points, several thresholds are calculated from the corresponding key-frame. Thirdly, based on the key points and thresholds, several regions of interest are expanded and thus the main content in each frame is obtained. Finally, the fast clustering method is performed on the key frames by utilizing their ROIs. A real-time dual watermarking algorithm of H.264/AVC compressed video is proposed for Video-on-Demand (VOD) service. The copyright information and user information are modulated by CDMA spreading strategies as watermark. At the encoder side, copyright information is embedded into the first non-zero coefficient of Intra 4 × 4 coded blocks in the luminance components of I frames. An effective error compensation mechanism is simultaneously introduced into the embedding process, which strictly restricts the distortion caused by quantization and watermark embedding within a step size of quantization. At the server side, a XOR based mapping rule is utilized for watermark embedding because the number of non-zero coefficients after quantization is quite less in P frames. Every two bits of the private user information is mapped to three non-zero coefficients of P frames. Experimental results on test sequences demonstrate that the proposed approach has just slight influence on bit rate and PSNR with real-time performance for VOD services, and achieves the dual purposes of copyright protection and pirate tracking. 相似文献

The major purpose of this paper is to transmit an existing video above a complete simulated video streaming architecture based on Network Simulator (NS2). Thanks to our architecture, the visual quality evaluation of the distributed streaming platform under various conditions is simplified. Indeed, the received video can be easily visualized using a classic video client or be compared using the Peak Signal-Noise Ratio (PSNR) value and the Structural SIMilarity (SSIM) value. Despite decades of research, no scholarly consensus has been achieved regarding the potential impact of video games on youth aggression or other public health concerns. In recent years, hypotheses have been raised that scholarly opinions on video games may resemble past moral panics, with attitudes reflective of generational conflicts. These hypotheses are tested in a sample of 175 criminologists, psychologists, and media scholars, examining both overall negative attitudes about video games and perceived linkages with youth assaults specifically. Results reflected continued lack of scholarly consensus on the issue of video game influences with only 15.3% of scholars endorsing the view that violent video games contribute to youth assaults. As hypothesized, older scholars endorsed more negative views of video games generally, although this appeared to be related to experience with games rather than age per se. Scholars with more negative attitudes toward youth themselves were also more negative about games. Criminologists and media scholars were more skeptical of violent video games contributing to youth assaults than were psychologists. In this paper, we propose an estimation method that estimates the throughput of upcoming video segments based on variations in the network throughput observed during the download of previous video segments. Then, we propose a rate-adaptive algorithm for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) streaming. The proposed algorithm selects the quality of the video based on the estimated throughput and playback buffer occupancy. The proposed method selects high-quality video segments, while minimizing video quality changes and the risk of playback interruption, improving user’s experience. We evaluate the algorithm for single- and multi-user environments and demonstrate that it performs remarkably well under varying network conditions. Furthermore, we determine that it efficiently utilizes network resources to achieve a high video rate; competing HTTP clients achieve equitable video rates.
