A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the plate without using shear correction factor. Unlike the conventional sinusoidal shear deformation theory, the proposed sinusoidal shear deformation theory contains only four unknowns and has strong similarities with classical plate theory in many aspects such as equations of motion, boundary conditions, and stress resultant expressions. The material properties of plate are assumed to vary according to power law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituents. Equations of motion are derived from the Hamilton’s principle. The closed-form solutions of simply supported plates are obtained and the results are compared with those of first-order shear deformation theory and higher-order shear deformation theory. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and efficient in predicting the bending, buckling, and vibration responses of functionally graded plates.  相似文献

This paper presents a neural network technique combined with an optical measurement system for the characterization of mechanical vibrations in industrial machinery. In the proposed system, the Gaussian beam of a laser source illuminates on an array of photodetectors. If either the laser source or the photodetector array is coupled with a vibrating system, then the optical powers detected by the photodetectors will vary accordingly, and are expected to reflect the magnitude and frequency of the X–Y planar vibrations of the monitored system. The time-varying optical powers are input to an artificial neural network-based vibration monitoring system which maps the power distributions to the X–Y position of the laser beam center. An experimental setup of the system is built and used for training and testing purposes. The obtained experimental results demonstrate the adequacy of combining optical techniques with neural networks to estimate the vibration frequency and magnitude. Estimated frequencies were within 1% of the actual ones, and the estimated magnitudes were within 29% of the actual magnitudes when using a chirp signal in the training phase. The magnitude estimation percentage error was further reduced below 12% when the neural network was trained with a decaying chirp signal.  相似文献

Planetary gearboxes are widely used in industrial machines. They usually work in harsh environments giving rise to damages and high maintenance costs. Condition monitoring is a key action allowing one to detect the presence of such damage ensuring healthy running conditions. The knowledge of the dynamic behavior of such a gearbox can be achieved using modeling tools as a primary step before conditioning the monitoring subject. In addition, modeling a gear set can help in the stage of design in order to optimize physical and geometric parameters of the system. Therefore, in this work, a two-dimensional lumped parameter model is adopted to build all vibration sources. The time-varying mesh stiffness is approximated as a square wave form. A novel mathematical formulation is proposed to model the amplitude modulation phenomenon due to the rotational motion of the planets around the center of the gearbox. Finally, the overall vibration signal is concluded as a summation of all vibration components influenced by the modulation function.  相似文献

Although the study of the sound pressure radiation from membranes and plates is not new, current and future applications have produced a large body of recent research in the field. Several works have been published on the radiation from general plane surfaces and some particular geometries such as rectangular, circular, elliptic and annular. However, the case of sound radiation from non-planar axisymmetric rings that could be applied to the design of coaxial loudspeakers has not received much attention. In this article, a simplified numerical approach for determining the sound pressure radiated from symmetric non-planar pistons and rings is presented. The method can also include those cases having a radially-symmetric velocity distribution.  相似文献

Delaminations in structures may significantly reduce the stiffness and strength of the structures and may affect their vibration characteristics. As structural components, beams have been used for various purposes, in many of which beams are often subjected to axial loads and static end moments. In the present study, an analytical solution is developed to study the coupled bending-torsion vibration of a homogeneous beam with a single delamination subjected to axial loads and static end moments. Euler–Bernoulli beam theory and the "free mode" assumption in delamination vibration are adopted. This is the first study of the influences of static end moments upon the effects of delaminations on natural frequencies, critical buckling loads and critical moments for lateral instability. The results show that the effects of delamination on reducing natural frequencies, critical buckling load and critical moment for lateral instability are aggravated by the presence of static end moment. In turn, the effects of static end moments on vibration and instability characteristics are affected by the presence of delamination. The analytical results of this study can serve as a benchmark for finite element method and other numerical solutions.  相似文献

Metal closures with a polymer-based sealing for beer bottles have been known since the late nineteen-sixties. However, to what extent which parameter of the polymer sealing gasket plays a role in closure performance to keep the beer quality to a highest level possible is not fully understood. For this purpose three thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) liners were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometry, dynamical mechanical analysis (DMA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and surface roughness in order to understand the effect of relative humidity (RH) and carbon dioxide (CO2) on their physical and chemical properties as well as their macromolecular structures. The TPEs’ viscoelasticity in the frequency domain under different isothermal conditions was evaluated. RH and CO2 were effective for changes in thermomechanical and surface properties. Liner C was found to have lower seal performance attributed to its relatively higher crystallinity, stiffness, weaker bond structure and rougher surface. Vibrations can lead to seal leakage in Liner B due to its higher damping behavior during production and transportation. Liner A outperforms others due to stabile behavior within the operational temperature range.  相似文献

提出了一种局域共振单元复合声子晶体板结构,并结合有限元对晶体板结构的带隙特性、隔声性能进行了分析.结果表明,共振带隙的产生是由共振单元与板中传播的弹性波相互耦合造成的,耦合强度直接影响共振频率和带隙宽度,隔声效果与薄膜的厚度直接相关.通过改变薄膜的厚度可以将隔声效果调节到满足机舱飞行员正常驾驶的要求.该结构在200dB以下具有良好的隔振效果,最大隔声量达到150dB.该研究为获得良好的隔声效果提供了理论支持,在航空发动机减振降噪方面具有潜在的应用前景.  相似文献
