Virtual reality (VR) has been increasingly applied in filmmaking in recent years. The integration of film and VR is becoming an important breakthrough for traditional films. This new types of film, named cinematic virtual reality (CVR), provides immersive VR experience where individual users can immerse themselves in synthetic world experience in 360° (Mateer, 2017).However, the characteristics and influence of this new digital media on human emotion is far from clear. In this study, we conducted an experiment to investigate the different emotional effects of CVR by comparing with a traditional two-dimensional (2D) film from two critical aspects: subjective emotional experience and real-time objective physiological reaction. Our results first revealed that the subjective experience and the physiological reaction showed significantly stronger emotional effect in the CVR condition than in the 2D condition. Upon further observation, we found that four emotions (excitement, nervousness, hostility, and jitteriness) are more closely correlated with the CVR than with the traditional 2D film. Real-time analysis of skin temperature shows a faster and steadier decline in the CVR group than in the 2D group. Finally, we summarized the causality of the effect by analyzing the characteristics of CVR. Our study suggests that CVR is an effective medium that induces stronger emotional experience and physiological reaction than traditional 2D film can. The design of the VR environment in CVR, as a key feature in the narrative of a film story, has an important influence on the emotional processing of the audience. 相似文献

The PlatoCAVE, the MiniCAVE, and the C2 are immersive stereoscopic projectionbased virtual reality environments oriented toward group interactions. As such they are particularly suited to collaborative efforts in data analysis and visual data mining. In this article, we provide an overview of virtual reality in general, including immersive projection technology, and the use of stereoscopic displays for data visualization. We discuss design considerations for the construction of these immersive environments including one-wall versus four-wall implementations, augmented reality, stereoscopic placement, head tracking, the use of LCD devices, polarized light stereo, voice control, and image synchronization. 相似文献

Despite the increasing amount of attention paid to virtual reality (VR) tourism and the rising importance of VR tourism, a theoretically integrated model of behavior has not been developed. To fill this void, we build and test a framework based on both innovation diffusion and uses and gratifications theories to explain why people participate in VR tourism. The moderating role of VR tourists’ technology readiness (optimism and innovativeness) between subjective well-being and behavioral intention is also examined. Results demonstrate that authentic experience and subjective well-being are affected by simplicity, benefit, compatibility (attributes of innovation diffusion), informativeness, social interactivity, and playfulness (uses and gratifications attributes). Behavioral intention is more positively influenced by subjective well-being than by authentic experience. The moderating role of technology readiness between subjective well-being and behavioral intention is stronger in individuals with high optimism and innovativeness than their counterparts with low optimism and innovativeness. 相似文献

The density and viscosity of propane mixed with 66/34 trans/cis-decahydronaphthalene were measured over a wide range of temperatures (323-423 K), pressures (2.5-208 bar), and compositions (0-65 mol% propane). For conditions giving two phases, the composition of the dense phase was measured in addition to the density and viscosity. The modified Sanchez-Lacombe Equation of State (MSLEOS) was used with a single linearly temperature-dependent pseudo-binary interaction parameter to correlate the phase compositions and densities. The compositions and densities of the mixtures were captured well with absolute average deviations between the model and the data of 5.3% and 2.3%, respectively. The mixture viscosities were computed from a free volume model (FVM) by using a single constant binary interaction parameter. Density predictions from the MSLEOS were used as input mixture density values required for the FVM. The FVM was found to correlate well with the mixture viscosity data with an absolute average deviation between the model and the data of 5.7%. 相似文献
