PHASE INVERSION AND ITS MECHANICAL MODEL STUDIES FOR THE TWO-PHASE POLYMER BLEND SYSTEMS (Ⅱ)——DYNAMIC VISCOELASTIC RESPONSE

The dynamic viscoelastic response of the two-phase polymer blend systems shows the characteristics of the thermorheologically complex materials. In this paper theoretical equations for describing the dynamic viscoelastic response of such polymer blend systems have been established by means of the mechanical modeling technique. The dynamic viscoelastic response of the blend systems at any blend composition can be predicted theoretically by using the equations established, provided that the dynamic viscoelastic response of the two pure components and the mechanical model parameters are known in advance. Thus, we provide an effective method for studying the dynamic mechanical properties and the molecular relaxation characteristics of the two-phase polymer blend systems.     

Synthesis of a biotinated amphiphile

The synthesis of a biotinated amphiphile assembled from d-(+)-biotin, ethylene diamine as spacer, galactaric acid and 1-dodecylamine was achieved in six steps. The key step was the synthesis of a bisacetonide protected galactaric ester, the structure of which was determined by X-ray analysis. Aminolysis, spacer attachment, coupling with biotin and deprotection led to the amphiphilic galactaramide.     

Nitropyrazoles

The double Vilsmeier formylation of theC-methyl group in pyrazole derivatives has been shown to occur when a nitro-group is in the adjacent position of the ring. Synthesis and polymerization of N-[N′-(α-methylbenzyl)aminocarbonyl-n-alkyl]maleimide

Two types of optically active N-[N′-(α-methylbenzyl)amino/carbonyl-n-alkyl]maleimides (MBAC) were synthesized from maleic anhydride, 6-amino-n-caproic acid (or 12-amino-n-dodecanoic acid), and (R)-(+)-α-methylbenzylamine. Radical homopolymerizations of MBAC were performed in several solvents at 60 and 110°C for 24 h to give optically active polymers. Radical copolymerizations of MBAC were performed with styrene (ST) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) in dioxane at 60°C. The monomer reactivity ratios and the Alfrey-Price Q-e values were determined. Chiroptical properties of the polymers and copolymers were investigated. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.     

Purine Nucleoside Analogs. 12. Synthesis of Novel 8,9-Disubstituted Guanine Derivatives by S-Alkylation of 2-Acetamido-9-(2-acetoxyethoxymethyl)-6-oxo-8-thioxopurine

S-Alkylation of 2-acetamido-9-(2-acetoxyethoxymethyl)-6-oxo-8-thioxopurine was used to synthesize its novel S- and N₍₇₎-substituted derivatives. We have established the effect of the structure of the alkylating agent on the reaction conditions and its regioselectivity. We have shown that the synthesized guanine derivatives can be modified further.     

四元缔合物体系薄层树脂相分离与光度法联用测定痕量钴

提出了在酸性条件下 (pH=5.0),利用阳离子交换树脂-丁二酮肟-碘-钴四元体系,通过薄层树脂相光度法测定钴的新方法。本法灵敏度高 (e454=1.7105L/molcm),比水相光度法提高14倍,精密度理想 (测定2.0礸/ml Co(II) 6次,RSD=1.3%),选择性好。实测药品VB12及天然水中钴,线性范围0.024~2.0礸/ml (定容50ml),检出限10.4ng/ml。     

Reactions of Hydroxyazolidines with π-Donor Heterocycles. 3. Reaction of 1-Acetyl-5-hydroxypyrazolidines with Oxindoles

The reaction of oxindoles with 5-hydroxypyrazolidines on the surface of potassium fluoride-modified alumina leads to 3-(5-pyrazolidinyl)oxindoles. The structure of these products was studied.     

Synthesis ofS-(+)-hydroprene

A novel path toS-(+)-hydroprene (1) starting from the technical gradeS-(+)-dihydromyrcene (2, e.e. 50%) is proposed. The latter was selectively transformed intoS-3,7-dimethyloctanal (5) in three steps including hydroalumination. The reactions of5 with allyl- or methallylmagnesium chloride followed, respectively, either by oxygenation in the presence of PdCl₂/CuCl or by ozonolysis, affordS,E-6,10-dimethyl-3-undecen-2-one (7) which was treated with ethoxyethynylmagnesium bromide to give the title juvenile hormone analogue in 23% overall yield.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reagentless system for sulphite determination based on polyaniline

A new reagentless system for sulphite (or sulphur dioxide) determination is reported based on the use of an organic conducting polymer, polyaniline, and its absorbance variation at 550 nm, depending on the sulphite concentration. After chemical polymerisation of aniline a very thin film of polyaniline is obtained. Although the response is not fully reversible, each film can be used for at least 10 measurements for low analyte concentrations (up to 0.5 mg l⁻¹) and five measurements for higher sulphite concentrations. Moreover, the reproducibility, ease of preparation and low cost of the films, permit the use of a new disposable system for each measurement. When the change in absorbance at 550 nm was measured for 210 s (stabilisation time), the system showed a linear response, which ranged from 0.025 to 1.50 mg l⁻¹ of sulphite. A theory with regard to the reaction mechanism between the polyaniline films and sulphite is also proposed. The system was applied to sulphite determination in wine samples and the results were in agreement with those obtained by the Official Method of Analysis (iodometric titration).     

The modulation of face-face π-π interactions in Lewis acid catalysis

The enantiomeric excess observed for the exo-adduct from the Lewis acid catalysed Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and methacrolein can be increased up to 21% by simple modification of the electronics of the aromatic ring in a series of stilbene-derived diol ligands, suggesting that the proposed face-face π-π interaction between the catalyst and the dienophile can be modulated by altering the electron density on the aromatic ring.
