Laser Ablation Molecular Isotopic Spectrometry (LAMIS) was recently reported for optical isotopic analysis of condensed samples in ambient air and at ambient pressure. LAMIS utilizes molecular emissions which exhibit larger isotopic spectral shits than in atomic transitions. For boron monoxide 10BO and 11BO, the isotopic shifts extend from 114 cm−1 (0.74 nm) to 145–238 cm−1 (5–8 nm) at the B2Σ+ (v = 0) → X2Σ+ (v = 2) and A2Πi (v = 0) → X2Σ+ (v = 3) transitions, respectively. These molecular isotopic shifts are over two orders of magnitude larger than the maximum isotopic shift of approximately 0.6 cm−1 in atomic boron. This paper describes how boron isotope abundance can be quantitatively determined using LAMIS and how atomic, ionic, and molecular optical emission develops in a plasma emanating from laser ablation of solid samples with various boron isotopic composition. We demonstrate that requirements for spectral resolution of the measurement system can be significantly relaxed when the isotopic abundance ratio is determined using chemometric analysis of spectra. Sensitivity can be improved by using a second slightly delayed laser pulse arriving into an expanding plume created by the first ablation pulse.  相似文献

Considering the uncertainty of measurement when assessing compliance with reference values given in compositional specifications and statutory limits is still a controversial matter. In theory, assessing compliance requires considering both type I (false positive) and type II (false negative) errors. The more the concentration of the analyte in the sample under investigation is close to the allowed concentration limit, the more critical it is to consider both types of errors. This paper describes how this could be done. The matter is discussed in the light of the most recent literature information.  相似文献

Summary Excessive breakdown of elastin, a structural protein, may be related to aortic disease and emphysema. Since L-valyl-L-proline occurs in high concentrations in elastin, a rapid and sensitive method using HPLC with post-column on-line derivatization was used to measure the dipeptide from swine aortic tissue, and the amount of elastin present was determined. Elastin was extracted by alkaline hydrolysis. After neutralization and filtration, the sample was injected onto a ODS-2 gel column, and the dipeptide was eluted by a linear gradient of 0 to 10% of 1-propanol in 50 mM heptafluorobutyrate, pH 3, at a flow rate of 1 ml/min. The eluent was reacted with fluorescamine at pH 8.6, and fluorescence was detected at an excitation wavelength of 395 nm and a 455 nm cutoff emission filter.Presented at the 17th International Symposium on Chromatography, September 25–30, 1988, Vienna, Austria.  相似文献

An all-solid-state internal reference system for pH glass electrodes employing polypyrrole (PPy)-Nafion® composites is described. pH sensors based on this reference system are characterised at 23±3°C. The observed characteristics of the resulting all-solid-state sensors, i.e. slope and linearity of the calibration plot, response behaviour, and signal stability, are very promising, and the differences with respect to the parameters of conventional liquid filled sensors are negligible. The values of the zero potential point, which differ from those of conventional pH glass electrodes, could be controlled within limits via the composition of the PPy-Nafion composite.The excellent sensor performance observed seems to be the consequence of a reversible charge transfer between the ion-conducting membrane, the mixed conducting PPy-Nafion interlayer, and the metal wire. A first discussion of the mechanism of this charge transfer is given.  相似文献

高分子在粘度计毛细管管壁上的吸附不仅会导致毛细管有效管径减小,而且可以导致毛细管界面性质发生显著改变,具体表现为测定高分子溶液流过时间t之前和之后纯溶剂的流过时间t0和t0′与高分子溶液流过时间t对浓度作图外推到浓度为零时的值t0^*并不一致。不同温度时聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)水溶液粘度测定结果表明,当吸附讷发子显著改变了毛细管界面性质时,需要将高分子溶液粘度测定方法由t/t0′改为t/t0^*。经过改进的粘度测定方法不仅更加普适合理,而且更加简单有效。  相似文献

An eddy current microscopy technique to evaluate the electrical conductivity of thin metallic films in a non‐contact manner is reported. A narrow track formed in an approximately 100 nm thick Au film was prepared, and a Co–Cr coated magnetic tip was driven to oscillate above the track both with and without current passing through the track. Despite the absence of current, the electromagnetic interaction between the tip and the stray magnetic field from the track gave rise to a phase delay in the probe. This was due to an eddy current being induced within part of the track. Moreover, measurements of the phase change in the probe oscillation for different metallic films with thicknesses of about 100 nm found this to be proportional to the electrical conductivity of the film. Finally, the electrical conductivity of an Al film was evaluated using the eddy current microscopy technique. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract

A model is proposed which addresses the factors involved in the axial light attenuation of a coated waveguide (collector/sensor) whose polymer coating has been sensitized to ammonia. The experimental results appear to corroborate the model predictions of high sensitivity (ppb) and independence of sample flow on the collector/sensor. Concentration and relative humidity both determine the slopes of the transmission curves, the latter factor of which can be reduced to a second order effect by controlling the relative humidity in the sample holder.  相似文献

For 357 subshells of the 53 neutral atoms He through Xe in their ground states, the two-electron intracule (relative motion) <u k > nl and extracule (center-of-mass motion) <R k > nl subshell moments in position space are examined as well as their counterparts <v k > nl and <P k > nl in momentum space, where n and l are the principal and azimuthal quantum numbers of the atomic subshell, respectively. It is clarified that between the intracule and extracule moments the “2 k -rule” is strictly valid, which means <u k > nl = 2 k <R k > nl and <v k > nl = 2 k <P k > nl for any nl subshell. Theoretical analysis also proves that for a particular case of k = +2, two relations <u 2> nl = (N nl −1)<r 2> nl and <v 2> nl = (N nl −1)<p 2> nl hold exactly, where N nl (≥2) is the number of electrons in the subshell nl, and <r k > nl and <p k > nl are the familiar one-electron subshell moments in position and momentum spaces, respectively. The latter equality establishes a new and rigorous relation between the second electron-pair moments in momentum space and the total energy of an atom through the virial theorem. For k=+1, −1, and −2, the numerical Hartree-Fock results for the 357 subshells show that there are approximate but accurate linear relations between <u k > nl and <r k > nl and between <v k > nl and <p k > nl , in which the proportionality constant in each space depends on n,l, and k.
