We established a large class of exactly soluble spin liquids and chiral spin liquids on three-dimensional helix lattices by introducing Kitaev-type's spin coupling. In the chiral spin liquids, exact stable ground states with spontaneous breaking of the time reversal symmetry are found. The fractionalized loop excitations in both the spin and chiral spin liquids obey non-Abelian statistics. We characterize this kind of statistics by non-Abelian Berry phase and quantum algebra relation. The topological correlation of loops is independent of local order parameter and it measures the intrinsic global quantum entanglement of degenerate ground states. 相似文献

A renormalization scheme for interacting fermionic systems is presented where the renormalization is carried out in terms
of the fermionic degrees of freedom. The scheme is based on continuous unitary transformations of the Hamiltonian which stays
hermitian throughout the renormalization flow, whereby any frequency dependence is avoided. The approach is illustrated in
detail for a model of spinless fermions with nearest neighbour repulsion in one dimension. Even though the fermionic degrees
of freedom do not provide an easy starting point in one dimension favorable results are obtained which agree well with the
exact findings based on Bethe ansatz.

The low energy spectrum of finite size metallic single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) is determined. Starting from a tight
binding model for the pz electrons, we derive the
low energy Hamiltonian containing all relevant scattering processes
resulting from the Coulomb interaction, including the short
ranged contributions becoming relevant for small diameter tubes. In
combination with the substructure of the underlying honeycomb lattice
the short ranged processes lead to various exchange effects. Using
bosonization the spectrum is determined. We find that the ground state
is formed by a spin 1 triplet, if 4n+2 electrons occupy the
SWNT and the branch mismatch is smaller than the exchange splitting.
Additionally, we calculate the excitation spectra for the different
charge states and find the lifting of spin-charge separation as well
as the formation of a quasi-continuum at higher excitation energies. 相似文献

A phase space treatment of special relativity of quantum systems is developed. In this approach a quantum particle remains localized if subject to inertial transformations, the localization occurring in a finite phase space area. Unlike in the non-relativistic case, relativistic transformations generally distort the phase space distribution function, being equivalent to aberrations in optics. The relativistic aberrations of massive particles are in general different from those of optical images. 相似文献

We solve the problem of a few electrons in a two-dimensional harmonic confinement using a quantum mechanical exact diagonalization technique, on the one hand, and classical mechanics, on the other. The quantitative agreement between the results of these two calculations suggests that, at low filling factors, all the low energy excitations of a quantum Hall liquid are classical vibrations of localized electrons. The Coriolis force plays a dominant role in determining the classical vibration frequencies. 相似文献

The effects of Umklapp scattering on the zero-temperature conductance in one-dimensional quantum wires are reexamined by taking
into account both the screening of external potential and the non-uniform chemical potential shift due to electron-electron
interaction. It is shown that in the case away from half-filling the conductance is given by the universal value, 2e
2
/h, even in the presence of Umklapp scattering, owing to these renormalization effects of external potential. The conclusion
is in accordance with the recent claim obtained for the system with non-interacting leads being attached to a quantum wire.

Calogero-Sutherland models of type BCN are known to be relevant to the physics of one-dimensional quantum impurity effects. Here we represent certain correlation
functions of these models in terms of generalized hypergeometric functions. Their asymptotic behaviour supports the predictions
of (boundary) conformal field theory for the orthogonality catastrophy and Friedel oscillations.
