Existence of solutions to a discrete fourth order periodic boundary value problem

This paper is concerned with periodic boundary value problems for a fourth order nonlinear difference equation. Via variational methods and critical point theory, sufficient conditions are given for the existence of at least one solution, two solutions, and nonexistence of solutions. Our conditions do not involve the primitive function of the nonlinear term. Examples are provided to illustrate the applicability of the results.     

Infinitely many homoclinic solutions for a second‐order Hamiltonian system

In this paper, we study the homoclinic solutions of the following second‐order Hamiltonian system where , and . Applying the symmetric Mountain Pass Theorem, we establish a couple of sufficient conditions on the existence of infinitely many homoclinic solutions. Our results significantly generalize and improve related ones in the literature. For example, is not necessary to be uniformly positive definite or coercive; through is still assumed to be superquadratic near , it is not assumed to be superquadratic near .     

Hardy-Sobolev critical singular elliptic equations with mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions

Three important inequalities (the Poincaré, Hardy and generalized Poincaré inequalities) on the mixed boundary conditions are firstly established by some analytical techniques. Then the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions are studied for a class of semilinear elliptic equations with mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions involving Hardy terms and Hardy-Sobolev critical exponents by using the variational methods.     

Existence of solutions for discrete p-Laplacian with potential boundary conditions

We are concerned with the existence of solutions for some discrete p-Laplacian equations subjected to a potential type boundary condition. Our approach is a variational one and relies on Szulkin's critical point theory. We obtain the existence of solutions in a coercive case as well as the existence of non-trivial solutions when the corresponding energy functional has a ‘mountain pass’ geometry.

Periodic solutions for some nonautonomous second order Hamiltonian systems

The existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions are obtained for nonautonomous second order Hamiltonian systems by the minimax methods in critical point theory.     

Quasilinear elliptic problems with multivalued terms

We study the quasilinear elliptic problem with multivalued terms.We consider the Dirichlet problem with a multivalued term appearing in the equation and a problem of Neumann type with a multivalued term appearing in the boundary condition. Our approach is based on Szulkin's critical point theory for lower semicontinuous energy functionals.     

SOLUTIONS FOR A NONHOMOGENEOUS ELLIPTIC PROBLEM INVOLVING CRITICAL SOBOLEV-HARDY EXPONENT IN R^N

Multiple solutions for Neumann and periodic problems with singular ?-Laplacian

We use the critical point theory for convex, lower semicontinuous perturbations of C¹-functionals to establish existence of multiple radial solutions for some one parameter Neumann problems involving the operator . Similar results for periodic problems are also provided.
