A novel approach to locate, identify and refine positions and whole areas of cell structures based on elemental contents measured by X‐ray fluorescence microscopy is introduced. It is shown that, by initializing with only a handful of prototypical cell regions, this approach can obtain consistent identification of whole cells, even when cells are overlapping, without training by explicit annotation. It is robust both to different measurements on the same sample and to different initializations. This effort provides a versatile framework to identify targeted cellular structures from datasets too complex for manual analysis, like most X‐ray fluorescence microscopy data. Possible future extensions are also discussed.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel framework for detecting abandoned objects by introducing a fully-automatic GrabCut object segmentation. GrabCut seed initialization is treated as a background (BG) modelling problem that focuses only on unhanded objects and objects that become immobile. The BG distribution is constructed with dual Gaussian mixtures that are comprised of high and low learning rate models. We propose a primitive BG model-based removed object validation and Haar feature-based cascade classifier for still-people detection once a candidate for a released object has been detected. Our system can obtain more robust and accurate results for real environments based on evaluations of realistic scenes from CAVIAR, PETS2006, CDnet 2014, and our own datasets.  相似文献

Single Beacon Cruise Positioning Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Node localization is important in WSNs (Wireless sensor networks) applications. We present a new cruise positioning algorithm, where a single beacon node cruises an entire network, broadcasting its position periodically with fixed signal strength. Meawhile, an unknown node obtains the location and the corresponding distance of the beacon node. Two possible position coordinate sets for the unknown node can then be calculated, and the coordinate mean of the point set with a small variance is an unbiased estimator of the unknown node's coordinate. The positioning algorithm's computation is simple, positioning accuracy is not limited by a physical distance measuring tool, and there are no restrictions on the path of motion, which makes it more realistic. An algorithm simulation is presented to compare the original and cruise location algorithm. Numerical results show that the cruise localization algorithm can achieve good positioning accuracy.  相似文献

Often, an answer to the question posed in the title is provided for either mobile phones or the Internet but not both at once. In this paper by contrast I require that successful countries do well on both forms of technology, over the period from 2000 to 2006. Using two measures for both mobile phones and the Internet, countries were ranked in four tables, which served as the basis on which the major conclusions were drawn. I find that Jamaica performs much better than any other low or low-middle income country, though there is a group of four other countries in a clear secondary position. My explanations of particular outcomes were often limited by the unavailability of good country-case material (though there is some).  相似文献

The rapid growth in the mobile application market presents a significant challenge to find interesting and relevant applications for users. An experimental study was conducted through the use of a specifically designed mobile application, on users’ mobile phones. The goals were; first, to learn about the users’ personality and the applications they downloaded to their mobile phones, second to recommend applications to users via notifications through the use of experimental mobile application and learn about user behavior in mobile environment. The question of how the personality features of users affect their compliance to recommendations is explored in this study. It is found that conscientiousness is positively related with accepting recommended applications and being agreeable is related with the preference for the applications of editor’s choice. Furthermore, in this study, applications owned by the user and the composition of applications under categories and their relation with personality features are explored. It is shown that the number of user owned applications and their category differ according to gender and personality. Having similar applications and the number of applications owned under specific categories increase the probability of accepting recommended applications.  相似文献

This paper focuses on coupling methods for hybrid Navier–Stokes/molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The computational domain is split in a continuum flow region, where a finite‐volume discretisation of the Navier–Stokes equations is used, and one or more particle domains, where molecular level modelling of the flow is employed. The domains are defined with a partial overlap, in which the flow states are coupled through an exchange of the velocity components. For the steady flows considered, an under‐relaxed Newton iteration method is used to drive the coupled system to convergence. The main focus of the present work is on methods to impose nonperiodic boundary conditions on the particle domain(s). A particle forcing is applied in the direction normal to the particle domain boundary to impose the boundary normal velocity component. A novel aspect of the present work is the extension of this method to more general nonplanar particle domain boundaries. The main contribution of the paper is the development of a particle forcing method in the direction tangential to the domain boundary, which is based on the equivalent continuum‐flow boundary shear stresses along with an iterative forcing strength adjustment based on the extrapolated particle boundary velocity. Furthermore, an adaptation scheme is presented, which uses the finite‐volume flux residuals of the particle bin averaged velocity field as a truncation criterion for the iterative force‐update scheme. It is demonstrated that by comparing the residual reduction for the momentum equation in the nonhomogeneous directions during the molecular dynamics simulations with that for a homogeneous direction, the forcing iteration at which the statistical noise in the velocity field dominates the uncertainty in the forcing strength can be determined. At this point the iteration can be truncated. It is shown that with adaptive schemes of this type, the total number of MD evaluations required in a coupled Navier–Stokes/MD simulation can be reduced relative to a hybrid scheme with a fixed number of forcing‐strength updates. A monocular method to measure the pose of a translation-only one-dimensional (1D) object containing at least two known characteristic points is presented. The position of any other point on the 1D object can be located after the pose measurement. Scene information is not needed to apply the method. If the distance between the characteristic points is unknown, there is a scale factor between the object's real positions and the measurement results. The method can also be used to measure the pose and shape parameters of a parallelogram, prism or cylinder object.  相似文献

In this work, a robust method for moving object detection in thermal video frames has been proposed by including Kullback–Leibler divergence (KLD) based threshold and background subtraction (BGS) technique. A trimmed-mean based background model has been developed that is capable enough to reduce noise or dynamic component of the background. This work assumed that each pixel has normally distributed. The KLD has computed between background pixel and a current pixel with the help of Gaussian mixture model. The proposed threshold is useful enough to classify the state of each pixel. The post-processing step uses morphological tool for edge linking, and then the flood-fill algorithm has applied for hole-filling, and finally the silhouette of targeted object has generated. The proposed methods run faster and have validated over various real-time based problematic thermal video sequences. In the experimental results, the average value of F1-score, area under the curve, the percentage of correct classification, Matthew’s correlation coefficient show higher values whereas total error and percentage of the wrong classification show minimum values. Moreover, the proposed-1 method achieved higher accuracy and execution speed with minimum false alarm rate that has been compared with proposed-2 as well as considered peer methods in the real-time thermal video.  相似文献
