A turbulent axisymmetric air jet impinging on a square cylinder mounted on a flat plate has been studied experimentally. Turbulence statistics and flow’s topology were investigated. When the surface was heated through uniform heat flux, local heat transfer coefficient was measured. The jet from a long round pipe, 75 pipe diameters (D) in length, at Reynolds number of 23,000, impinged vertically on the square cylinder (3D × 3D × 43D). Measurements were performed using particle image velocimetry, flow visualization using fluorescent dye and infrared thermography. The flow’s topology demonstrated a three-dimensional recirculation after separating from the square cylinder and a presence of foci between the bottom corner and the recirculation’s detachment line. The distribution of heat transfer coefficient was explained by the influence of these flow’s structures and the advection of kinetic energy. On the impingement wall of the square cylinder, a secondary peak in heat transfer coefficient was observed. Its origin can be attributed to very pronounced shear production coupled with the external turbulence coming from the free jet.  相似文献

In this study, a molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor (MIP/DA) was investigated for selective and sensitive determination of dopamine (DA) by electrochemical polymerization of p-aminothiophenol in the presence of DA on gold electrode. According to electrochemical behaviour of the sensor, gained through cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), MIP/DA sensor showed distinctive electron transfer characteristics in comparison to the non-imprinted (NIP/DA) sensor. Besides the MIP/DA sensor showed high selectivity for dopamine through its analyte specific cavities. The sensor had a broad working range of 5.0×10−8–2.0×10−7 M with a limit of detection (LOD) of 1.8×10−8 M and the developed sensor was successfully applied for determination of dopamine in pharmaceutical samples.  相似文献

New silica‐modified glassy carbon electrodes prepared with three different sorts of ordered mesoporous silica (OMS) were characterized and tested for the electrochemical detection of Malachite Green (MG). The electrodes were prepared by drop casting using silica suspensions and, for stability sake, a Nafion coating was deposited on the electrode top by the same technique. Square wave anodic stripping voltammetry was used to investigate the effect of various experimental parameters (deposition time, solution pH, silica type and concentration) on the performance of the modified electrodes. The best electrode (GC/MCM‐41‐NH2/Nafion) with detection limit 0.36 μM, sensitivity 0.164±0.003 A/M; linear domain 1–6 μM was applied to detect MG in a commercial product commonly used as biocide in aquaria for ornamental fish.  相似文献

A molecularly imprinted polymer was developed and used for solid-phase extraction (MISPE) of the antihelmintic fenbendazole in beef liver samples. Detection of the analyte was accomplished using square wave voltammetry (SWV) at a cylindrical carbon fibre microelectrode (CFME). A mixture of MeOH/HAc (9:1) was employed both as eluent in the MISPE system and as working medium for electrochemical detection of fenbendazole. The limit of detection was 1.9 × 10−7 mol L−1 (57 μg L−1), which was appropriate for the determination of fenbendazole at the maximum residue level permitted by the European Commission (500 μg kg−1 in liver). Given that the SW voltammetric analysis could not be directly performed in the sample extract as a consequence of interference from some sample components, a sample clean-up with a MIP for selectively retaining fenbendazole was performed. The MIP was synthesized using a 1:8:22 template/methacrylic acid/ethylene glycol dimethacrylate ratio. A Britton–Robinson Buffer of pH 9.0 was selected for retaining fenbendazole in the MIP cartridges, and an eluent volume of 5.0 mL at a flow rate of 2.0 mL min−1 was chosen in the elution step. Cross-reactivity with the MIP was observed for other benzimidazoles. The synthesized MIP exhibited a good selectivity for benzimidazoles with respect to other veterinary drugs. The applicability of the MISPE-SWV method was tested with beef liver samples, spiked with fenbendazole at 5,000 and 500 μg kg−1. Results obtained for ten different liver samples yielded mean recoveries of (95 ± 12)% and (96 ± 11)% for the upper and lower concentration level, respectively.  相似文献

The two-dimensional and unsteady free stream flow of power law fluids past a long square cylinder has been investigated numerically in the range of conditions 60≤Re≤160 and 0.5≤n≤2.0. Over this range of Reynolds numbers, the flow is periodic in time. A semi-explicit finite volume method has been used on a non-uniform collocated grid arrangement to solve the governing equations. The global quantities such as drag coefficients, Strouhal number and the detailed kinematic variables like stream function, vorticity and so on, have been obtained for the above range of conditions. While, over this range of Reynolds number, the flow is known to be periodic in time for Newtonian fluids, a pseudo-periodic flow regime displaying more than one dominant frequency in the lift is observed for shear-thinning fluids. This seems to occur at Reynolds numbers of 120 and 140 for n=0.5 and 0.6, respectively. Broadly speaking, the smaller the value of the power law index, lower is the Reynolds number of the onset of the pseudo-periodic regime. This work is concerned only with the fully periodic regime and, therefore, the range of Reynolds numbers studied varies with the value of the power law index. Not withstanding this aspect, in particular here, the effects of Reynolds number and of the power law index have been elucidated in the unsteady laminar flow regime. The leading edge separation in shear-thinning fluids produces an increase in drag values with the increasing Reynolds number, while shear-thickening fluid behaviour delays this separation and shows the lowering of the drag coefficient with the Reynolds number. Also, the preliminary results suggest the transition from the steady to unsteady flow conditions to occur at lower Reynolds numbers in shear-thinning fluids than that in Newtonian fluids.  相似文献

This article describes results of experiments on vortex-shedding frequencies and surface pressures of a square cylinder at non-zero angle of incidence. The range of Reynolds numbers was 2000–21 000, but the lower range was emphasized. For Reynolds numbers greater than 5300, the Strouhal number shows a similar trend with changing angle of incidence; that is, a rapid rise in Strouhal number occurs at an angle of around 13°. The occurrence of such a jump in Strouhal number was found to be associated with onset of the flow reattachment, bringing in a strong pressure recovery on the lower side face of the cylinder. For lower Reynolds numbers Re=2000–3300, the maximum Strouhal number occurs at a relatively higher angle of 17°. Around this angle, the pressure measurements exhibit a rather weak pressure recovery, suggesting a less firm shear-layer reattachment to the side face of the cylinder. The nature of the reattaching flow was further examined by spectral analysis of the fluctuating pressure coefficients measured on the lower side face of the cylinder.  相似文献
