Large enhancements in gelation behavior of wheat gliadins by incorporation of low concentrations of methylcellulose

Influence of non-gelling methylcellulose(MC)on gelation behavior of wheat gliadins in 13 wt%alkaline propanol/water(50:50, v/v)solution was investigated using dynamic rheological time sweep test.Increasing MC concentration(C_(MC))up to C_(MC)=1wt% caused a significant reduction in gelation time(t_(gel))of the solution and an increase in loss tangent(tanδ)value of the resultant gel at T<30℃.     

Analysis of microcystins by capillary zone electrophoresis coupling with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

In this paper, a rapid and effective method based on capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) was established for the trace analysis of microcystin (MC) isomers in crude algae sample. The experimental conditions including the composition, acidity and concentration of buffer, separation voltage, injection time, and MS detection parameters were investigated in detail. A capillary separation system was as follows: a uncoated fused-silica capillary tube (50 μm i.d. × 90 cm), 40 mmol L⁻¹ ammonium acetate solution (pH 9.86) as running buffer, 25 kV as separation voltage, 20 kV × 3 s water first and 20 kV × 20 s for sample injection. Mass analysis was performed in ESI source, with sheath gas temperature 150 °C, sheath gas pressure 10 psi, and sheath gas flow 6 L min⁻¹. And sheath liquid was 7.5 mmol L⁻¹ acetic acid in 50% isopropanol-water (3 μL min⁻¹). Protonation and ammonium adduct molecular ions m/z 506.9 (MC-LR) and 532.0 (MC-YR) were used for the quantification of MCs. Under these conditions, two MCs were baseline separated within 9 min, the calibration curves were obtained in the range of 0.11-10.0 μg mL⁻¹ and 0.16-10.5 μg mL⁻¹ for MC-LR and MC-YR, respectively. Meanwhile, limits of detection were 0.05 and 0.08 μg mL⁻¹ for MC-LR and MC-YR, respectively. The recoveries for the two MCs were in the range of 95.8-108%. The developed approach had been successfully applied to the analysis of MCs in crude algae samples.

Monte Carlo simulation of magnetic phase transitions in Mn-doped ZnO

The magnetic properties of Mn-doped ZnO semiconductor have been investigated using the Monte Carlo method within the Ising model. The temperature dependences of the spontaneous magnetization, specific heat and magnetic susceptibility have been constructed for different concentrations of magnetic dopant Mn and different carrier concentrations. The exact values of Mn concentration and carrier concentration at which high temperature transition occurs are determined. An alternative for the explanation of some controversies concerning the existence and the nature of magnetism in Mn diluted in ZnO systems is given. Other features are also studied.

钛表面钠氢氧钛纳米线的结构、生物活性和MC3T3-E1细胞响应

采用化学方法处理微弧氧化(MAO)制备的含Si、Ca元素的Ti O2涂层(SC),获得钛氢氧钠(Na0.8H1.2Ti3O7)生物活性纳米线结构。化学处理过程中,SC涂料表面出现了Ca、Na元素溶解,Si元素沉积的现象。化学处理后的SC涂层比SC涂料具有更好的吸水性和诱导磷灰石形成能力。这与处理后涂层(SHTO)特殊的纳米结构有关,在模拟体液浸泡过程中更容易形成Ti-OH。同时,钠氢氧钛纳米线的表面形貌、相组成、OH基团以及良好的湿润能力使其更加适合于MC3T3-E1细胞的粘附和增值。
