We obtain the optimal perturbation bounds of the Moore-Penrose inverse under the Frobenius norm by using Singular Value Decomposition, which improved the results in the earlier paper [P.-Å. Wedin, Perturbation theory for pseudo-inverses, BIT 13 (1973) 217-232]. In addition, a perturbation bound of the Moore-Penrose inverse under the Frobenius norm in the case of the multiplicative perturbation model is also given.  相似文献

Hyperbolic or more generally definite matrix polynomials are important classes of Hermitian matrix polynomials. They allow for a definite linearization and can therefore be solved by a standard algorithm for Hermitian matrices. They have only real eigenvalues which can be characterized as minmax and maxmin values of Rayleigh functionals, but there is no easy way to test if a given polynomial is hyperbolic or definite or not. Taking advantage of the safeguarded iteration which converges globally and monotonically to extreme eigenvalues we obtain an efficient algorithm that identifies hyperbolic or definite polynomials and enables the transformation to an equivalent definite linear pencil. Numerical examples demonstrate the efficiency of the approach.  相似文献

We consider a regularization method for nonlinear complementarity problems with F being a P0-function which replaces the original problem with a sequence of the regularized complementarity problems. In this paper, this sequence of regularized complementarity problems are solved approximately by applying the generalized Newton method for an equivalent augmented system of equations, constructed by the generalized Fischer–Burmeister (FB) NCP-functions φp with p>1. We test the performance of the regularization semismooth Newton method based on the family of NCP-functions through solving all test problems from MCPLIB. Numerical experiments indicate that the method associated with a smaller p, for example p[1.1,2], usually has better numerical performance, and the generalized FB functions φp with p[1.1,2) can be used as the substitutions for the FB function φ2.  相似文献

We introduce a new iterative method for the computation of the minimal nonnegative solutionG of the matrix equation , arising in the numerical solution of M/G/1 type Markov chains. The idea consists in applying a relaxation technique to customarily used functional iteration formulas. The proposed method is easy to implement and outperforms, in terms of number of iterations and execution time, the standard functional iteration techniques.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate a non-localization property of the eigenfunctions of Sturm–Liouville operators Aa=??xx+a(?)Id with Dirichlet boundary conditions, where a(?) runs over the bounded nonnegative potential functions on the interval (0,L) with L>0. More precisely, we address the extremal spectral problem of minimizing the L2-norm of a function e(?) on a measurable subset ω of (0,L), where e(?) runs over all eigenfunctions of Aa, at the same time with respect to all subsets ω having a prescribed measure and all L potential functions a(?) having a prescribed essentially upper bound. We provide some existence and qualitative properties of the minimizers, as well as precise lower and upper estimates on the optimal value. We prove that the filling order is quadratic for a large class of solvable groups and asymptotically quadratic for all -rank one lattices in semisimple groups of -rank at least 3. As a byproduct of auxiliary results we give a shorter proof of the theorem on the nondistorsion of horospheres providing also an estimate of a nondistorsion constant.  相似文献

The term dual string for scalar strings was introduced in [KK1], where some connections between the spectra of a string and its dual were studied. In [KK2] it was shown that if () is a spectral function of a scalar stringS 1 with nonnegative spectrum (in the sense of [KK2]), then the function
is a spectral function of the string (S d)0 which isfully dual toS 1. This result was generalized to regular matrix strings with continuous invertible matrix densities by H. Dym and L. A. Sakhnovich [DS]. In the present work we generalize in part the mentioned result from [DS] to matrix strings that may be singular, and may have matrix density that is everywhere discontinuous and noninvertible on a set of positive measure.  相似文献
